  • I understand wanting to keep it quiet and do it for yourself. I have a bad week and fall off the wagon and my partner is the first person to throw it back in my face and make me feel worse about everything then in turn I binge (or binge drink) You don't need the world to know your business - MFP is here for you when you…
  • I have size 16, size 14, and size 12's in my cupboards (yes I have 3 cupboards as I can't bring myself to throw them out). I'm in my 16's at the moment and am dying to designate a closest (hell even a box) for the ones I have shrunk out of and move into the 2 cupboards that have not been worn in years. Just got to stick…
  • Depression is not something to make fun of. Being told to "man up" by insensitive people does not help. Maybe your ex did not like this side of you? Overdosing is not something to joke about either - speaking from experience of losing a best friend to one due to a bad judgement call on her behalf - these bad calls cannot…
  • Hi, You sound like you have a very hectic schedule. Pick a realistic calorie goal - mine is 1500 a day, try to get some exercise in - even if it is only walking as any exercise is better than none. Slow and steady wins the race. Every small change you implement will help
  • I try not to smoke everyday. I am not ready to quit completely as at the end of a long week of work I want to sit down with my bourbon and cigarettes and relax. I am trying very hard to stick to 1500 calories a day and exercise for 30 mins 3 to 4 times a week. The fitter I get the less I will smoke until Friday afternoon…
  • Oh and I have my calorie limit set at 1500. 1200 was just not enough food and I was always hungry and tired.
  • Standing on the scales is usually the first thing to jump start me back into logging after I fall of the wagon due to stress and health not being good. I have Crohns disease so eating too much of salads and veggies only makes it worse so I have to stick to a carb based diet to lessen the bathroom onslaught. I eat small…
  • Well done and congratulations!! You have done an amazaing job and I love the Despicable Me shirt too!
  • What diet pills are you on? Maybe stop taking them and see if you feel hungrier?
  • Stumps me! I look at peoples diaries somedays and notice they dont eat past afternoon tea - um can't rememebr the last time I did that.......
  • I've been back on the MFP wagon this month - and trying damn hard to stick to it - feel free to add me if you like?
  • I went off my pill in January and absolutly stacked on the weight! After being on it for 16 years my hormones went nuts. Only now 6 moths later are my hormones starting to settle and let me stick to something without getting overly emotional. Men will never understand what we go through!
  • I have always had photos on my profile - but lately I am using motivational pictures to motivate me and maybe others. Seeing positive sayings over and over again is a good way to start believing it and getting it into the subconscious. Anyone that I have as a friend can look through my profile to see what I look like if…
  • Friend request sent to you Molly and thank you for replying  I am on fortnightly Humia and daily Imuran also, so I have a very low immune system - even managed to get chicken pox again 2 moths ago! Humira saved me (and before that 3 x Inflixmab infusions) as my body would not get off steroids without it after my…
  • Maybe I should have added that I am not skipping meals or replacing them - I just found that the caffeine helps me go a bit longer between snacks and when I do snack - I find I eat a little less as I am not as hungy. Thank you for your feedback & comments.
  • I found when I tried to stick to 1200 a day I would give up and binge as it was not enough food. I changed mine to 1500 and I am losing 1/2 to 1kg a week and dont binge nearly as much as I dont feel starved. The extra 300 gives me the energy to exercise in the afternoon after I finish work.
  • There is a book called The Gabrielle Method by John Gabrielle- it explains a lot about how your body interpets stress - putting it into survival mode and storing food as energy instead of burning it. Maybe you might find it interesting?
  • Anything under 1200 Calories puts your body in starvation mode - if you exercise, make sure you eat back enought so that you are not under 1200. Maybe try increasing your calories but 100-200 or so everyday for a week and see if that boots your body into losing. I set mine at 1500 a day and im still losing 1/2 to 1kg a…
  • I think it is more of a pat on the back for not overeating... but I tend to congratulate people more on the exercise they do rather then what they eat as many have closed diaries so you dont know the real situation.
