  • 5'6" 203 lbs 31.8% body fat I started 4 months ago at 44% body fat and 252lbs, so it's come down a lot, but am hoping to get within 20-25 within the next 6 months.
  • It's incredibly motivating but having a 'bad' weigh-in where I put on or don't lose doesn't de-motivate me, it just makes me want to work harder. The scales tell one story but I also measure once every 6 weeks and I find that to be super helpful.
  • I used to go across to the store from work and buy 12 bags of crisps, go home....and eat the lot in one night, usually one bag after the other. I did that many times, so I can't remember one big binge, I just ate to make myself feel better, once I ate them I felt fat and guilty and this cycle went on and on for years.…
  • I've given up chocolate and my biggest weakness crisps altogether but I cannot give up chinese takeaways. I have one once a month as a treat.
  • Multi-vitamin Iron Vitamin C Zinc Omega 3
  • One of those gorgeous bodycon dresses, would love to wear something like that to our Christmas Party next year! Most of all just fashionable clothes, not simply ones that fit in the plus size stores. I'm sure I'm going to burn through cash on clothes when I reach my target!
  • Sleep: 7 hrs/day Exercise: 1hr/day Work: 37.5 hrs/week Work type: sedentary
  • I never had acne problems and then 18 months ago I woke up with cystic acne all over my chin, it was horrible and painful. I tried quite a few things but eventually found the Clinique Anti-Blemish range. I'm now very prone to acne on my chin now but since using clinique I've had hardly any acne at all, just the odd spot…
  • I started at 252 four months ago, I had 100lbs to lose then.....and now I'm close to ONE-derland, it's tough, you will be emotional, frustrated, tearful and most of all sweaty! BUT it is soooooooo worth it. You've done fantastic already to step on that scale and decide to make a change, now it's time to commit to really…
  • Hey! I go to the gym 5-6 days a week, I try to mix it up: Tuesday: 40-60 minutes - Treadmill run Wednesday: 60 minutes - Circuit Training Thursday: 40-60 minutes - Treadmill run Friday: 60 minutes - Boxing Saturday: 60 minutes - Kettlebells Sunday: 40-60 minutes - Treadmill run I've had the flu for 10 days so I'm just…
  • I started out at 252 and people didn't really notice until I lost 28lbs (two stone), even now when I've lost nearly 50lbs some of my family haven't noticed! It was frustrating at first when people didn't notice, I wondered how on earth they couldn't see I'd lost weight as i look quite different, I've dropped 4 pant sizes…
  • I knew for a long time I needed to lose weight but it wasn't until I was at work doing a shift at night, and my belly was sitting flush up against the desk. It was horrible, I was constantly uncomfortable and hated how I looked. That night I went home and made the pledge to change my lifestyle forever. In the 4 months…
  • I have several smaller goals, it seemed like too much to me to just say I needed to lose 100lbs. So I set myself 5 mini goals that I could meet: 1. 1st Goal: 227 (25lbs Lost: 1/4 of the way) 2. 2nd Goal: 202 (50lbs Lost: half way) 3. 3rd Goal: 177 (75lbs Lost: 3/4 of the way) 4. Final Goal: 152 (100lbs Lost) 5. Fitness…
  • Not sure I'd say I'm obsessed, but I recently had a pretty bad flu and couldn't workout for 11 days.....and I felt miserable, yes, part of that was the flu (nasty) but it was also because I couldn't exercise and exercising makes me feel good. I love going to the gym or for a walk or run and the feeling you get knowing…
  • Firstly congrats on the job! Being completely honest, you've got to make time, no room for excuses, it's tough but it's true. Most folks here work full time and have families, if you want it badly enough, you have got to make it a priority. I don't have kids but I work a 40hr week (with shifts), it's not easy to fit…
  • Hey all :-) I started here four months ago at 252lbs and I'm currently at 205lbs, edging closer to that magic 50lbs lost. I still want to lose another 50lbs to get to 150lbs and be in my ideal weight range. I'd like to hit 50lbs lost in the next two weeks. Always happy to add new friends, especially those who are in the…
  • I started out at 252lbs 4 months ago, and I'm now down nearly 50lbs to 205lbs. Not ready to post full body pics yet (waiting to hit closer to 100lbs lost), but you can see the difference between my main profile pic and another pic in my profile taken at my first 5K race two weeks ago. If you'd said to me 4 months ago I…
  • You're not alone, I've heard the grammar is like that of a 10 year old, which puts me off long before the incredibly silly 'mommy porn' content!
  • I'm not a smoker but I started the C25K programme at 235lbs and ran my first ever race - a 5K two weeks ago in a personal best of 35 minutes. In all honesty I never actually completed the C25K as by week 6 I was already running for 30 minutes (in preparation for my scheduled 5k race), so I worked off my own programme after…
  • Agree with everyone else, it really is hit and miss with a lot of stores, sizing can be all over the place. I'm in the UK also and found that to go from a size 24 (my highest) to a size 20 took nearly 3 months and 36lbs. Then I went from a size 20 to an 18 pretty quickly (currently in the size 18). I think it is true that…
  • I've just spent the past week with a pretty bad flu (also had a chest infection and was on anti-biotics), I haven't done any exercise and didn't want to. I wouldn't force my body to work so hard when it's already trying to fight off a virus. I've gone back to exercising while still being sick and all it did was made me…
  • I have a Polar FT4 and it is amazing, easily the best thing I've invested in since starting my lifestyle change. I too didn't want to wear a chest strap until a friends here on MFP convinced me the chest strap on the FT4 was super comfortable......they were 100% right. Once i put it on I actually forget I'm wearing it! I…
  • I'm in, have the flu so can't workout, but I did my 10 squats today. Feel's good to be able to do something after having the flu for a week!
  • I finished C25K about a month ago and competed in my first ever race two weeks ago - a 5K, I ran it in 35:31. It was my personal best time and was a pretty tough course, but I was pleased with the time. I'm currently training for a 10K, and working on my speed and endurance. I hope to run another 5K in a month and get my…
  • I don't think there's any such thing as the 'best exercise', just what works for you. However when I started out at 252lbs all I did was walk for about a month, I walked every day, and gradually upped my pace and distance. Then I added in classes like Circuit Training, Kettlebells and Boxing. Now I don't walk as i run 3…
  • We have a beautiful Japanese Spitz called Coco. She's 7 years old and was born on valentines day, she's had 5 surgeries in the past two years with cruciate ligament and knee problems. She's a little trooper and is now happy and healthy and is most definitely queen of the house!
  • I don't think the reasons really matter, you're getting healthy and fit so it's positive for your body and wellbeing, whatever the reasons behind doing it are. That being said I do have a few 'shallow' reasons, the same as most folks, to look more attractive and be more confident and sexy. However my family has a terrible…
  • I really, really get this. I'm down 43lbs since June 18th and I've been shopping twice for new clothes and each time my friend will pick up a medium and I'll go 'no that's too small and pick up the L or XL', I just don't see myself mentally as having lost weight. Whenever I do fit into something that's not a large, I'm…
  • Awesome journeys everyone, loved reading through all of them. I started out on June 18th 2012 at 252lbs and a size 24 (UK) in jeans and a size 22(UK) in tops. Now 103 days later I'm 208lbs and in a size 18-20 jean and size 16-18 top (depending on the brand). Goal is to be around 150lbs and a size 12-14(UK), don't think…
  • I started on July 20th and deviated my workouts around Week 6, as I felt I could run more and ran my first 5K distance today in a time of 38:13. My first 5K race is next Sunday (30th), the course next week is a little hilly but I'm hoping to complete it in less than 40 minutes. C25K has made me into a runner, going from…
