  • Nope, like most things it's whatever works for you. I workout 5-6 days a week, I don't always enjoy it, but I love how I feel afterwards. It's helped me reach my goal faster than if I'd just stuck to diet alone. Building in exercise to my daily routine has made me fitter, stronger and healthier.
  • I have 2-3ltrs of water a day and no more than 2 cups of tea a day - I'm irish so we can't survive without tea for long!
  • I've been doing 90 minutes of Spin, Circuits and Kettlebells for a while, and regularly burn over 1000 calories (averages around 1030). They are back to back classes at my gym, killer workout. EDITED: To say I use a Polar FT4 HRM.

  • I got it in December (last year) and it put an end to my running, I had to pull out of a planned 5k and 10k because of it, no exercise for weeks and lots of pain. I still can't run, Doctor has told me to give it up or I'll do more damage. I do spinning now instead, much less stress on my heel. I found stretching it out…
  • It was the last place I lost, it seems to take ages, and even after 80+lbs i've only lost one band size and one cup size, I really did expect more. Strength training helps 'perk' them up a bit, but there's no way to spot reduce so just keep being patient and congrats on the weightloss so far :drinker:
  • Height: 5'6" Age/Gender: 30yr old Female Highest weight- 252lbs Current Weight- 168lbs Current body fat - 31% (highest was 44%) Lowest weight- Now, I'm the lightest I have ever been Goal weigh- 152lbs but ideally around 25% body fat
  • I love my little gym for the exact opposite of this thread, it's full of young, old, fat and thin people, and no one gives a damn what you look like. We all work hard and end up a sweaty mess at the end of the workout, I'll take that over the usual 'poser' type gyms where they go in full makeup, never break a sweat and…
  • Amazing transformation and may I say "how you doin?!" Looking fab!
  • No one yet but there seems to be very few people from Northern Ireland on MFP
  • I've been lifting for nearly 3 months, still losing consistently, I've lost body fat and I wouldn't say I've gained muscle but I'm sure as hell a lot more toned and have some really nice definition in my arms and legs. I've lost a lot of inches, just stick with it and take regular pics!
  • Boob wastage - Boobs do not look great after losing over 80lbs, thank god for a push up bra. Cold - I am ALWAYS freezing, seriously, when is this going to improve? Clothes - I love shopping now, but I have spent a lot of cash buying clothes, I've tried to be as frugal as possible over the past 9 months but it has still…
  • I researched online and found my ideal weight should be 120-150, I aimed for the higher end at 150. Saw my Doctor a few weeks ago who suggested I aim for 160 and then go from there, so that's what I'm doing. I think ultimately 145-50 will be my ideal range, but my short term goal is 160. I'm really going more for clothes…
  • Amen. I only did walking for 3 months when I started last summer, I lost nearly 3 stone in 3 months just by eating healthy and walking! It is an exercise and it does work for helping you get and stay fit and healthy, it's low impact and can be done by most people, best of all it's free....what's not to love. Ignore the…
  • 1. Start today, never put off for tomorrow, what you can do today 2. Losing weight is about much more than body fat, you have to work on you at the same time, take the time to do that 3. Build a support network, no man is an island 4. Water, drink it like it's going out of fashion 5. Enjoy the journey, don't obsess about…
  • I average between 10-14 cups a day, I just make sure I always have water with me. When I'm work I take two 2ltr bottles with me, I drink those throughout the day. You pee like mad for a while but then your body gets used to it, and you don't go as often as you did at first....well that's my experience anyway. When I get up…
  • Never, ponytail everytime, I sweat buckets and it would just get annoying if I wore it down.
  • I'm 5'6" and weigh 170, I started out at 252 9 months ago. I'm aiming for between 150-155, I'm strength training so the scale isn't really my main motivation now, but that's the rough weight I'd like to be in the next few months. My body fat is still high at 33%, so that's a bigger motivator for me than weight.
  • A healthy one that you can sustain for the rest of your life.
  • My left, I've tried parting it to the right but it never sits right.
  • Golden Syrup Oatmeal after an early morning Protein Shake.
  • Chicken breast, my protein of choice
  • How much weight do you have to lose? I've lost 79lbs (in 8 months) with another 13lbs to go before I reach my goal How fast are you trying to lose it? Started out 3-5lbs a week, now it's 1lb per week, slow and steady. How fast are you losing it? Averaging between 1 to 1.5lb per week. Hoping to reach my goal by May. On a…
  • I have been following it for 6 weeks now, it is fantastic but gets a little boring, so I add in a few other moves to make my own routine each week, which I switch up every few days. It's been working so far, quite a few inches lost. I'd definitely recommend the book. I have a little home gym which I use and if you don't…
  • Best post I've read on this, answered a few questions I had myself. I thank you kind sir :drinker:
  • This made my day.....love this thread!
  • I'm on a month long plateau, it started when I began strength training, I'm losing inches but the weight will not budge after being so consistent with my weight loss for the past 7 months, it's incredibly frustrating. But I will keep going because I love strength training and hope that the scale eventually starts moving…
  • Inspirational, you started near my highest weight (252) and are at my goal weight. I'm experiencing a month long plateau which is driving me insane, this is really just what I needed. You look amazing girl, congrats!
  • Lift heavy weights! I started strength training 3 weeks ago (at home using NROLFW) and love it, though it's caused me to plateau with my weight loss I feel so much stronger and have lost an inch off my waist. Sometimes you just gotta say 'screw the scale'.
  • Here are my stats: 29 years 5"6.5 SW: 252 CW: 179 GW: 150 I started 7 months ago and the weight loss has now slowed to a crawl since the New Year, so definitely not losing as fast as I once did. However I've started strength training as being strong and toned is more important to me than the scale number now. My goal at…
  • One of the best success stories I've read on here....not only because you dropped a tonne of weight and look amazing but because you were real and honest about the whole thing. You look fantastic, and so does your beard! :drinker:
