Welcome to MFP! Consistency, community, celebration - we're all in this together!

Hi, Cerimoose! Thanks so much for your reply. I'll try that stretch and see if helps. The shoes I'm wearing are the same as I always wear, which is what struck me as unusual. I'll see if I have anything else kicking around.

We can meet and EXCEED these goals if we stick together and stay motivated. Keep 'em coming, guys! Accountability! Dedication! Endurance!

That virtual ride goal is so neat! I may have to try that one day!
-
Fantastic goals! I've never worn a bikini either - next summer is our summer!
-
Yeaaaah! Heels have a way of making a lady feel so fine ;)
-
Hmm.. I never thought of that! Personally, I really love the feeling of achieving a goal, but I tend to set high ones for myself. I hope that works out for you! It's such a good feeling to identify issues and flaws with our plans and then do something about it.

I started at 225lbs.. my goal is between 150-160lbs. I have a larger frame, though. Ultimately, I'm looking to feel better, be stronger, and get my figure back, haha. ;)

I'm in - friend request sent!

I'm in the same boat as you, hon! Feel free to add me as a friend - we can support, motivate, and cheer each other on!

Rock on!

I 've read all of the replies, and truly appreciate you all taking the time to respond! I'll take your advice to heart. :)

I do have a soft measuring tape, and I was too afraid to take before photos. I do have photos of me at my biggest, though, so I'll use those in my stead. How often do you recommend taking pictures of yourself? Once a month? Every three months? Visual documentation will be paramount for me.

Wow, I didn't expect this much of a response. Thank you for sharing your stories, everyone. It's so nice to know that I'm not alone. I'm going to weigh myself every week, I think. It will satisfy that "need" to know, but not put me into a panic with the every day fluctuations. Perhaps I can just wean myself away from…

Yeah, it's important to focus on the things we can see and feel, and try to remove the negativity from our journey. Some of my clothes are feeling a bit too big, and some are fitting that much better. I just wish my brain would stop letting a part of me care so much about that number.

I'm 5'4", weigh approximately 210-215lbs, and wear a size 18/20 pant and a large shirt. I have found finding clothes that fit (especially pants - they are the bane of my fashion existence) a real challenge. I'm hourglass shaped, but have short legs, so I wear pants on my hips. If pants fit me through the legs and around my…

That's what I'm trying to keep in mind - changes for the long term. I know it'll be a slower process than restricting, restricting, restricting, to see dramatic results. I just like to have a lot of things in my bag of tricks for when I'm feeling down. Thanks for sharing!
-
Yes, we can! :D

So, so, true! It's definitely important to keep that in perspective, but it's one of the things I struggle with most. I'm taking measurements (but only waist/hips [where I wear my pants]) because those are the ones I'm most unhappy with. Perhaps I'll start taking other measurements as well, and limit that to once a week.

Awesome, thanks!
-
Bump!
-
These are all super fantastic ideas - thank you!

Yeah! Pushing myself is something I need to do more, for sure. I'd love to to get into running (but always convinced myself I hated it since I used to get some bad shin splints) Do you have any tips on how to get started? Do you use any apps or do you just go and do your best? :)

Walking is great!

215 was my starting weight at the beginning of this year, but since I do not have a scale anymore, I have no idea what my new starting weight is/was (as of two weeks ago). I'm trying not to focus on my weight specifically, because I've always been heavier than I looked. I am focusing more on how I feel and look, but if you…

I also wasn't on the challenges spreadsheet, so I added my name to the bottom too. I think it updates to alphabetical automatically the next time it loads, right?

I'm working on losing about 60-65 total. I'm 16lbs down, and have a long way to go. I'm in it for forming a healthy relationship with food, and making changes for life. Feel free to add me for encouragement and support!

I feel like I'm doing pretty well. The water thing is a no brainer for me, and I've been exceeding an hour a day of exercise so far this week. I hope I can keep it up!

Total nerd over here. :)

You look great! Congratulations on coming this far. You're so close to your goal - keep it up!
