  • My July goal was to break the 180 barrier, and I was unable to do this. I didn't go up, which is good and I did lose about 2% body fat, so that was good. My August goals are to: 1. Do sprints at least once a week. 2. Cut my carbs to about 150 grams per day. 3. Go primal for the entire month. 4. Get under 180 for good!
  • Exercise Minutes: 322 minutes Personal Goal: (yes or no & remind us what it was): I didn't make it to the basketball court with my daughter this week, but we compromised and went to the swimming pool twice. That was great. Days logged in: (rounded down to the nearest 5): 45 days logged in
  • Read the scariest thing last night on MFP. My wife scours the forums and reads a ton of them. She found one that prompted us to have a nutrition and health chat with our 11 year old daughter. There was a member of MFP who was advocating an unhealthy way of eating, and by unhealthy I mean she was eating a cup of carrots a…
  • Sorry I was late logging in with my exercise and goals for last week. This week is to get to fitness elite. My youngest daughter is taking an interest in basketball, so my fitness goal is to take her to the park at least twice this week so she can practice.
  • Exercise Minutes: 304 minutes Personal Goal: (yes or no & remind us what it was) To get in three strength and three cardio routines...which I did. Days logged in: (rounded down to the nearest 5): 40 days logged in
  • Completely understand. Lived in Germany for about three years and we got sun for about two weeks out of the year. Then snow and rain, and more snow and rain. Still though, being American, I enjoyed BBQ in the rain and snow. Sounds like everybody's one the same page when it comes to MFP over/underestimating exercise. I like…
  • Pick a level. Set a goal. How much exercise can you get in this week? - I'm aiming for Elite this week. I dipped down last week, mainly because me and my alarm clock were having a fight. Pick a personal goal for this week! Let us know what it is and how you did. I'll add a little ★ in front of your name on the leader board…
  • Logged 203 minutes of exercise this week. Did not make my goal of 360, but still a good week. Any exercise is better than no exercise. Accomplished my personal goal of three strength training and three cardio routines. Days logged in (35).
  • I haven't been doing this as long as some, but I'm not considered skipping logging until I hit my goal weight. I think the beauty of this program, and for fitness in general, is to do what fits you. Taking a break can be a way to recharge and refresh. NOTE: I'm trying to learn how to do the quote thing, so if anybody can…
  • Debbie - Glad to hear everything came back okay. Today was the day I came in under my calories, but perhaps did not make the best choices. Breakfast was good; lunch and dinner, not so much. I get up every morning to workout and have some time to myself. This week, however, each and every morning my wonderful girls were up…
  • My goal for this week is to make Elite again. I'm off to a slow start, but I'll pick it up for the rest of the week. RMC - I'm trying to switch to a higher protein/lower carb eating plan. I didn't make a drastic change (35 protein/35 carbs/30 fat), but it's something I want to try. I'm quickly finding it harder to meet my…
  • Exercise Minutes: 336 I didn't get as much as I wanted this week, but I started incorporating weight training, and I feel really good about that. Days Logged In: 28 I've also changed to a higher protein lower carb diet, so we'll see how that goes for the next week.
  • Stomach bugs are not the ideal way to lose weight, but its weight loss nonetheless. Hope you get to feeling better though. I did not lose anything for this week. It may be due to my starting to reincorporate weight training into my routines. It's been a good steady loss up until now, but I'm not discouraged in the least. I…
  • I also am really flippin tired. Went to bed when I usually do, but when the alarm went off I slapped the snooze button for about an hour and a half. Just one of those mornings I didn't want to move. I agree that having an ongoing thread for the week would be better. Our problem is not fast food, but resturants a well;…
  • Tawnya getting up at 3:45; that is some dedication there. I get up at 5, and I still struggle with that, especially when I don't feel I've gotten enough sleep. I don't mind going out to get something to eat, but something my wife and I discussed last night was that it is way more satisfying to build the meal and enter it…
  • Going to shoot for Elite again this week. I'm trying some different routines, which are shorter, but are more high intensity. Tried one on Monday and felt like there were people living in my lungs with tiki torches.
  • I logged 433 minutes last week and will be aiming for the same goals for the next week. I had to put in some extra work due to the 4th and having a nice bbq that day.
  • Goals for July: 1. Get under 180 lbs. So, so close. I've been toying with that goal for about four months now. Joined MFP about two weeks ago, and it's really helping with my calories. 2. Get in 3 strength training routines each week. 3. Get in 3 cardio sessions each week.
  • Gotta admit, the 4th was fairly difficult to avoid in terms of eating and exercising. We had family in town, which makes the eating all the more difficult. The one thing I did indulge in yesterday was Smores. Oh they were so good!!! One the flip side though, after family left, I was able to get an hour in on the bike and…
  • Congrats on keeping it going! I usually have a protein shake after my workouts to replenish what I've lost and to rebuild muscle. I also use it to make up some calories if I'm short for the day or to supplement a meal. I use 'MuscleTech' and don't know a lot about the 'Muscle Milk', but whatever you're doing, keep it up.
  • I'm Corey and rather new to MFP (day 11) and just starting to get a feel for the program and the features. Great database and this group is great! I'm just starting to get back into the swing of exercising, and the weekly challenges should help me get out of bed. Sometimes that snooze button is just too tempting!
  • New to the weekly challenge, but I'm going to shoot for Buff.
  • Hi everyone! I'm Corey and I 35, and have about 30 pounds to lose. I was in the military for 12 years and worked out nearly everyday. I got out after I ruptured a disk in my lower back and had to have surgery to repair the area. I couldn't work out for almost two years, minus walking a light resistance training. Now that…
  • What I've learned from MFP today: 1. When people take pictures of themselves, I've notice a great number of them chop off their own heads and everything below the knees. 2. Yes, when you ask for an opinion and you give it, people can be vicious. Are we not all on the same journey to a healthier lifestyle? 3. The forum…
