Cutting out and/or lowering carb intake makes weight loss more efficient. Cal in, cal out is a general rule, but by taking in the right macros your body becomes more efficient at burning FAT. Yes, a lot of initial weight is water, but it also makes burning fat quicker.

Brighton here! :)

I suppose clean could have different meanings... But the term I'm familiar with refers to food that are basic, and low cal. meats that are low in fat for example would be considered clean, as would carbs that are fibrous. Clean fats would be fats that are unsaturated and heart healthy.

It has muscle sparring advantages. That and it's an awesome diet! Bacon, eggs, cheese, and sausage up the wazoo!!! lol

Diet consisting of high fat, moderate protein, and little to no carbs. Puts your body into a state of ketosis. Should look it up. :) http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=36497&page=1

I would consider anything below 1000 to 1200 low i guess... It's nice to see I'm not the only one. :) I've been around 500 cals a day... Just temporarily.

They're really common on BB.com, good for low carb diets if you're craving pasta. Go for it! ;)

You can do it, easy! ;)

Sorry, I'm actually a huge advocate of low carb. I just have to incorporate a low cal diet in as well. I find the initial water weight loss helps motivate for the slower loss down the road. But yeah... Low carb brings out some weird cravings. A week or two in and suddenly all I want is ice cream! XD lol

My deadline is July 6th, trying to lose 20-25 by then... Race ya to goal. ;)

I've tried low carb, and though they work to a degree, low cal works best for me. I know this through trial and error. Previously lost 100 pounds going low cal. :)

Nice work! I would consider most anything below 1200 pretty low... Reasonable number? But yeah, I hear ya on eating clean so that you can eat more! Only way for me to stay low cal. lol
-
Well thank you. :) I've stepped into the gym once or twice... ;)

Higher carb intake, alcohol consumption, lifting... These all tend to dilate the veins. Other than that I'm not sure.

Bump :)

That's a damn good protein there. I approve! lol

Never heard of it, ever tried isopure? I use the zero carb, it's excellent, and extremely good for you. 50g protein, 1g fat, 0 carb, glutamine, BCAA's, nitric oxides. Tastes good too. ;)

First thing i see when I open this topic is you drinking, gave me a lil chuckle. :) short answer is yes. It wont harm fat loss, it's just calories. But if you're working out, it could inhibit your muscles ability to repair and build. Alcohol makes protein synthesis much less efficient for around a day.

one brand I am a fan of would be pure protein. They are like 150-200 cals each, low in sugar(1-2g usually) and sat fats, and have moderate protein. http://www.pureprotein.net/category/BARS

In due time... I personally am a fan of low cal. It's hard for me to take in decent amounts of cals because I tend to eat very clean. If i don't i have a tendency to fall off my diet. I have a problem that way. :/ I love food, so if it's not clean, and tastes good, It's very hard to control my cravings... usually leading…

I eat very clean. My protein comes from very low fat sources such as poultry or egg whites. For fats, olive oil, coconut oil, or fish. And for carbs I go to sweet potatoes, oatmeal, or brown rice. Obviously these are all examples... There's a lil more than 8 items on my menu, lol. Getting the right macros in your body…

I stated this low of a calorie diet is temporary. Going hard til a trip in a couple weeks. then I'll up it. Like i've said, the lower my weight gets, the more I'll raise my calories. I'm aware that the lower in bf you get the more prone to losing muscle you are. That is something I don't intend on doing. So for now, psmf…
