  • 1st...do a happy dance and shout it from the rooftops! :flowerforyou: 2nd...change your goals to maintain If it bumps your calories up a bunch, maybe increase them slowly for now so you don't freak your body out too much, and then just see what happens. You have to realize that once you are at goal you can't expect to…
  • Yep, I usually just try to log what I call "intentional" exercise. Thinks that I made an extra effort to do. Things like laundry and small, daily cleaning tasks I don't count. They just provide an extra cushion!
  • I would just buy one for home and use that one each time. You can always check the accuracy of a scale by placing a dumbell on it and checking the accuracy based on the dumbell weight. Just get a new one and weigh in. If the number seems way off from the other scale...perhaps the other scale was wrong. You are just going…

  • Click on the Exercise tab, then add exercise. You can search for whatever type it was (aerobic, step aerobics, strength training, kickboxing, etc). Then enter the time spent and it will calculate the calorie burn for you. That is the MFP way but a heart rate monitor is your best bet.
  • Well, a calorie is still a calorie. Do you omit the calories in drinks too? No, you have to count those because they all add up.
  • @morganadk2 Ok, REALLY? She didn't say anything about exercise calories, if she is working out or if she is eating them. This doesn't answer the original question at all and is not the answer to every question on these boards. Please read and provide accurate feedback or don't comment at all. I'm just saying!…
  • When in doubt, use the lower number.
  • - Pick one scale and stick with it - Weigh in about the same time...every time (don't vary morning and evening weigh in's). Most people choose A.M. before eating - Get a dumbell and test your scale. Set the dumbell on it to see if it's accurately calculating the weight
  • It's under "walking" for the activity, not the machine!
  • If you don't have the package and it's not in the database you may have to google it.
  • Well, I'm not sure how you would know how much "weight" would be equal to a resistance band. I'd say you can't log it as reps...or just put 1 for the weight and then make a comment at the bottom that you used bands.
  • Eat less, move more! Sometimes it really IS that simple!
  • You can't...just leave it like this. We can see the other post on the board. Hopefully this one can just work its way to the bottom.
  • Well, I eat what I want and I still lose weight. I think it depends on your mind set. If you don't have a problem with restricting certain foods, then cut them out. I know that if I restrict myself completely from the things I like I'm likely to binge on them later. I don't think of this as a diet where you…
  • It gets easier...Yes, she apparently cannot count very well and that is a bit annoying at times but I love Turbo Jam & burn serious calories according to my HRM. I would suggest getting one, they aren't expensive and are a better way to figure calorie burn. Otherwise, search Turbo Jam under the exercise tab and it should…
  • I have taken that for years and it hasn't inhibited my weight loss. I lost 88 lbs in 2008 while on it. Must be some people that do have trouble though, they ask me every time I go in if I've noticed any weight gain! I'm like...yeah, cause I eat too much. Not from the shots!
  • I'm not sure that this is the problem because it doesn't appear you are eating back most of your exercise calories anyway. Maybe you should try to increase your intake a bit to make sure you are actually getting a minimum NET of 1200 per day. If your body doesn't feel fueled (not full) you may not see a good loss.
  • I would take the morning weigh in because it's probably more accurate. If you weigh at night, you've probably still got a good portion of your daily food and drink intake in your belly. I always weigh in the morning, after using the bathroom, before eating or drinking anything! Congrats on that huge #!
  • If you want it, have it! You can't expect to be successful if you deprive yourself of what you like. That being said, if you notice that it is causing your weight loss to slow down or stall, you might want to rethink how many times a week you allow yourself to indulge. I was able to lose 88 lbs in 2008 and I drank a…
  • And this is why you should not play games with the scale. You will not win. Step on once, take the number and put the scale away!
  • Correct, the initial goal that MFP gives you is based on the assumption that you will NOT be working out. Just make sure that your daily activity level is accurate (without counting any exercise) based on your school or work activity and you should be fine. I wasn't able to work out this week and followed my daily goal…
  • I get to this point sometimes. I just get so thirsty and I want to drink constantly. Never anything wrong with me so I didn't worry about it too much. If it gets to the point of being unbearable you might call the doctor just to ask. It may be nothing but it doesn't hurt to mention it to them just to see if they have any…
  • Good luck and welcome aboard!

  • The guy at the SBUX drive thru told me they were out of Chai. Just as I was about to drive away he said APRIL FOOLS! Just about ruined my night! LOL
  • I watch it...in a way, it makes me feel better about my self while giving me a reality check at the same time. Weird?? I know!
  • Just get a scale and step on it. Don't worry about what the scale says as much as how you feel and how your clothes fit. While it's nice to see that number go down it isn't the only sign of improved health. Good luck to you!
  • Link with instructions are below, in my signature.
  • Honestly, if you aren't hungry and this is an infrequent situation (going way under) I don't think you need to freak out about it. Doesn't make sense to force yourself to eat something if you aren't hungry. Periodic low days won't hurt you.
  • Kiss him and then smash the cheesecake in his face. That way it's sort of a slap but you can also "ruin" the cheesecake so you don't have it around to eat! So sweet but so bad!
  • You probably have to go into the goal and just confirm your new goal (MAINTAIN). Go to my home>goals>change goals>guided. There you can change your goal from "lost weight" to maintain and the system will recalculate your daily calorie goal. Congratulations!
