  • You can change who can view your profile here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/profile_privacy Hope that is what you are looking for. If you want to allow friends to view your profile but only post certain things, you can change that under settings>automatic newsfeed
  • I know when I cut way back on fats I get a sick, light headed feeling so make sure you aren't cutting back too much. You still need some fats and a good combination of other nutrients to feel well and be productive.

  • Just blinded myself with the phone flash! This is me almost every day now that I've been laid off. :blushing:
  • OMG...my mouth just started to water! CAKE BATTER???
  • You don't have to eat them all back. That theory doesn't always work for everyone so eat what you can and see what happens.
  • Just take smaller portions of the things you like and then keep track so you can log estimates when you get home.
  • I would probably be committed to a mental hospital! Had a horrid morning with my son and ended getting into a nasy yelling match with him. :frown: Not good...hoping the rest of the day is better! Wait...it WILL be better! I promise you that!
  • I'm amazed that people would take the time to send them a personal message like that when they don't even know them. If I don't like what someone says or I don't like their pictures, I just move on and forget about it. People are so weird!
  • It's really good with diet cherry coke and chocolate cake mix. You can even dice up some cherries to mix into the batter! YUMMO! Or, we've done strawberry cake mix and a diet strawberry soda & orange the same way! Try lots of different combinations...they are all good!
  • Go to the Exercise tab, find the workout activity you completed and enter the time spent.
  • It would be nice but until the entire world actually starts using a food scale, it won't happen. As a side note, if you find errors and correct/edit them, the foods then show up under the MY FOODS tab which makes it easier to locate the corrected entries in future!

  • You should eat the amount of calories that MFP tells you to based on the questions your answered at the beginning.Technically, it doesn't matter what you eat as long as you stay within your calorie goals but try to eat healthier, well balanced meals that include fruit, veggies, lean protein, etc. Good luck to you!…
  • Don't worry so much about the BMR...that is how many calories you'd need if you were in a coma for 24 hours. MFP takes your information, including the activity level you entered, and determines your daily calorie burn. Then it determines what you need to eat to lose at the rate you wanted. Go to MY HOME/GOALS and you will…
  • I would use the HRM as this site is just an estimate and every body burns differently!
  • My stomach very often sounds like a herd of bullfrogs is living inside it. Unfortunately, mine may be too much water because on those days I've been sucking it down like there's no tomorrow. Not really sure what causes this but I experience it too and it really bugs my son. It freaks him out when the wild animals start…
  • FOOD ON TREADMILL: If you eat the hershey bar while walking on the treadmill, those calories don't count! (true story) :blushing:
  • I'm "trying" to read A clockwork orange for my book club but can't get past the 2nd page. It sucks!
  • I was behind a guy at McDonald's the other day and when he asked for a water she offered him bottled water instead because a drink came with the meal but it sounded like she would have given him tap if he'd asked for it. Frankly, I don't like the "mystery", un-bottled water from restaurants because you never know where…
  • Go to the recipe board...lot's of ideas have been posted there.
  • MFP was created to allow you to eat back the exercise calories burned if you want. Some do, some don't. You have to try it both ways and see what works for you. I'm not sure about the exercise not showing up. Did you log it under the cardio section? If not, that is the only place that will reflect calories burned.
  • Oy, you waited to start until spring break? You are braver than me. I probably would have waited until AFTER spring break to start! Good luck! :drinker:

  • Make your diary public if you want feedback on what you've been eating.
  • Some times I try to plan out the day but I find that when I do that, I never want to eat what I've planned for and end up changing it most times.
  • That's what I was wondering. What kind of freak just stops strangers on a hiking trail? I would put my headphones on, ignore anyone that approaches and keep walking!
  • You have to pick the activity that is closest and hope you aren't counting it too high!

  • BMR details can be found here. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/tools/bmr-calculator If you really want to see how your daily intake goal is calculated, go to MY HOME/GOALS and look at the information on the right.

  • What add function are you looking at?
  • I don't completely agree with this. Yes, you should eat more healthy foods if you can but that doesn't always work for people that have kids, jobs, lives, etc. You CAN lose weight eating whatever you want as long as you are within your calorie goals. Please don't try to make people feel bad if they don't eat as clean you…
  • I have a friend that did this...lost tons of weight really fast. Gained almost all of it back just as fast. I would not suggest it!
  • Can you make your diary public so we can see what you have been logging? Maybe there is something there that we can help with.
