  • I love all the pictures of the cats! Sadly, I am only allowed one.
  • Actually, a gallon of water is about 3.7 liters of water, or 64oz which is 4 quarts.
  • Bad things. Very, very bad things.
  • I'm also pear shaped, and I tend to go for dresses more like that have a "smooth" waist, instead of gathers. http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=93345&vid=1&pid=387521032 http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=93357&vid=1&pid=522124012 http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=93357&vid=1&pid=387525012 (I…
  • I'm not sure what it's called, but my mom used to make this a lot when I was younger. Brown ground beef with onion (also can add celery, green pepper, etc). Layer in the bottom of a large pot, with some broth. Add small potatoes (washed, not cooked), or cut up potatoes. Shred cabbage on top. Simmer until everything is…
  • I am in a semi-similar situation myself, though we've been long distance from the beginning. When I finish school in about a year, I'm planning to move to where he is. It's doable, especially with lots of skype dates, phone calls, and visits.
  • You can also make chicken fajitas at home, stir-fry lots of peppers, onions, carrots (thinly sliced into strips), celery, etc, with chicken, and just enough BBQ sauce to make it saucy, and serve in soft tortilla shells. We had that probably once a week and it was always a huge treat.
  • When I was my thinnest adult weight at 130, I was a 34C. At my heaviest now (18X), I'm a 36C. They seem to like that size.
  • You look incredible. What book did you use? When you do cardio, how long do you do it for?
  • If I don't drink enough water, I get dizzy very easily. I've found that by downing 4 cups of water as soon as I wake up, that helps keep me hydrated. I find the dizziness can be exasperated if I eat a lot of carbs (breads and pasta mostly) and don't have extra water. Most days I average 12 cups.
  • Wow, your transformation so far is amazing!
  • I've noticed on days I do exercise, I need way more than 8 cups of water, those days I'm usually 12+. Days I don't exercise, I'm around 8-10. I bruise easily, though I haven't noticed it from workouts, just from being a huge klutz with no depth perception.
  • if you're worried about adding fruit back in, add it gradually. Start out with half a serving every other day, and it a week, go to either half a serving every day or a whole serving every other day. And then a serving a day. I did Atkins a while ago, and I had to ease back into fruit.
  • What I have noticed for me is that on days where I don't eat as many fresh veggies, even if I exercise, drink all my water, and stay under calories, I don't lose anything at all. Also, when I have salty food at night or bread and pasta at night, I don't lose anything, (even with all of the previously mentioned good habits).
  • I love cheese, and eat it daily. Broiled chicken, with steamed veggies, and melt some cheese on the top (cal depends on size). Cheese stick as a mid-morning snack (about 80 cal). Egg and egg white omelet with lots of veggies and some cheese. Cottage cheese with fruit (or plain). Sometimes when I have lots of calories a…
  • Unless you need to watch your sugar intake (for diabetes, or something similar), I'd keep the yogurt and fruit and not worry about it, especially if it limits your craving for less healthy sweets. My sugar is always high (mostly from fruit and dairy), and I just don't worry about it, but I have no medical reason to worry.
  • So on the heart rate part, how low should it be before stopping? During my workout, I stay around 4mph, with bursts up to 6mph (elliptical, not treadmill), but my HR is 170+. I spend the last five minutes walking around 2mph, drop the arm thing, but even by the end of those five, my HR is still usually around 150. My…
  • If the promise of yogurt at the end of the day keeps you on track during the day, why can't you add that back in? If you're worried about sugars, find one that's lower in sugar or have less of it, like 1/2 a cup instead of a full cup. Or get plain Greek yogurt, and add a few berries. For me, starting my day with creamer in…
  • I can't use either aspartame or splenda or any of the other fake sweeteners. If you're after the carbonation and not the sweetness, have you tried sparkling water? Or mixing it with a dash of real sugar, and lemon juice (or other fruit)?
  • I second this question.
  • I agree with this completely. Mine is open 24/7 (though I haven't tried going at 2am yet), the trainers are certified, there are 5 squat racks, a good number of free weights going from small (2lbs) to huge (way too heavy for me right now), oodles of cardio, a circuit, and the weight machines. Now, it's a bit too busy at…
  • Christian female, 27, single (unmarried, but with a boyfriend), with a cat. Feel free to add.
  • First, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! 1. College life is different at every college. For me, I loved it so much I now work at my alma matter, love it. I got to take a variety of classes in all different areas: math, physics, chemistry (okay, didn't love this one so much), theater, philosophy, religion, psychology, it was all…
  • Can you add beans for more protein? My sister doesn't eat meat or most dairy products, and she gets her protein from beans.
  • Feel free to add me, if you'd like. What has helped me the most is limiting processed foods like bread and pasta, and eating more veggies. That also helps lower your sodium. My sugar mostly comes from dairy products and fruit, with the occasional purchased coffee or tea, but I'm always over. I've lost 9 pounds since the…
  • I eat more. I'll usually do something low-calorie (unless I have a bunch of calories left) like fresh raw vegges with a cheese stick.
  • I always have a back up snack with me, either veggies (carrots, celery, cucumbers, peppers, etc) or a cheese stick/individually wrapped cheese or slices. I also try to keep apples around, and they're relatively low calorie. When I was in school and up late studying a lot, I also drank decaf tea in the evenings, sometimes a…
