  • I felt like that for the first five days, along with a horrible headache. It finally clicked with me that it was the lack of sugar in my diet. I woke up on day 6, and felt great. Push through it if you can.
  • I'm doing south beach. My doctor told me to try it. I think you normally stay in phase 1 for two weeks, but the book will tell you for sure. Best of luck!

  • You look beautiful in both pictures. But your transformation is incredible! Way to go!
  • The only caution I'd throw out is to make sure stevia doesn't bother you, since that's what they use as a sweetener.
  • That happens to me when I drink almond, or rice milk, or anything soy based (including tofu). If it turns out not to be gluten or the cottage cheese, you might want to look at other things.
  • I'm 6 days into the south beach phase 1, and I've been alternating the little veggie quiches (made with real eggs) with cottage cheese and tomatoes; or yogurt and another veggie (okay, this one I only did once). This is also the first day I haven't woken up with a horrible "I want sugar" headache. Maybe I'm finally getting…
  • I personally would prefer to elope (maybe with parents and siblings, MAYBE), then throw a house-warming party once we got settled after the wedding. Still trying to talk my SO into that.....
  • When I get hungry at night, I first drink a full glass (or two) of water, then I try some hot tea, even if you add honey it's not much. If that doesn't work, I will read, or do something that both occupies my mind and my hands. Sometimes, if it's a really bad craving (and for something sweet), I'll have a little chocolate…
  • Almost every Sunday growing up we had pot roast for lunch, usually chicken or beef, with potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, and one large onion, a little oregano and/or Italian seasoning. Those meals were fantastic! Then the leftovers were used to make a pot-pie for Monday night dinner (with a biscuit crust). Maybe have…
  • Although there are healthy options for eating out, I know when I was a student it's not so easy on the wallet. Tuna pouches are great, grab one (or two) of those, a couple slices of bread, and carrot sticks. Leftovers from: chicken, pasta, etc. Pack them up with a fresh fruit or veggie (or both). Sandwiches in general:…
  • How I'm hit on dictates how I respond. If it's inappropriate (like saying, "I would do you, wanna try?"), I ignore. If it's polite, conversational, etc, I say "I'm flattered, but I'm already taken. Have a nice day/evening/morning." If that is followed up by "He's not here and I am" or something rude, I ignore.
  • Several friends who run and carry use a holster that holds the gun in the small of their back. Doesn't help if you don't hear someone sneaking up behind you, but it keep it fairly accessible. They also carry their drivers license and concealed permit.
  • I think you are too. My advice would be to try to maintain where you are as you continue to increase your calories so you're netting at least 1200 each day, while continuing your workout routine, whatever it might be. Your body is probably confused by the extra calories it needs.
  • I can't stand it!!!!!!!! It is one of my biggest pet peeves.
  • I am almost exactly you, except my CW is a good bit closer to my SW. What are you doing for calories and exercise?
  • I'm in week 3, but I'm not following the schedule 100%. So far, I've lost two inches off my waist, which hasn't gone down the tiniest bit in the 6 previous months.
  • I like indoors better, especially in the allergy time of year.
  • Kick him to the curb. If he "loved" you until his family said something about your weight, it's only a matter of time before they don't like your hair, or the way you cook chicken (or whatever), or your pet, or your shoes, or your laugh, etc...
  • Could you put your child in stroller and take him/her with you in a walk around the neighborhood?
  • I have a new favorite, it's a mint chocolate red wine. It's like heaven. I like sweet wines though, ones that taste almost like fruit juice, but with that warm fuzzy after feeling.
  • I got TurboFire on amazon for less than $40, and I'm not using anything else beachbody related. For me it's a schedule of different workouts, which I like, and it's producing results. I've lost an inch and a half from my waist in only 10 days, and only one pound. Do I think it is the awesomest best thing ever? No. Does it…
  • Wow, just wow. Great job! I love your new haircut!
  • Pick a healthy food that you don't have as often. For me, when I hit mini goals, I get some fresh cherries or raspberries. I don't normally buy these, because they are rather expensive per pound.
  • Not really my thing, but I don't really care. Unless, they're white, in which case they become transparent while working out (sweat), and then ew.
  • I don't like turkey bacon alone, but if I cut it up and scramble it in eggs I can hardly tell the difference. It also works on salads.
  • I want red meat right around the time mine starts, like a steak or burger or something, and salty stuff. But after that I can go back to my chicken and fish. No other major cravings.
  • My breakfasts vary a ton, and I usually eat at work. These are my most frequent (they all include coffee): - cheese stick (or slices) & fruit - slice of bread with nut butter w/fruit or jam - hard boiled egg - scone (okay, not the most healthy) - muffin - Greek yogurt with nuts or granola - cottage cheese ETA: when I eat…
  • I use this: http://www.everydayhealth.com/food-fitness/exercise-activity/calories-burned-conditioning-exercises I think the calorie burn is based on doing everything exactly as in the work out DVDs.
  • Ophie is very pretty and looks a lot like my Opal.
