stop eating 2 hours before sleeping....drink more water, your body can fluctuate up to 5 lbs a day. How often are you weighing in? Try once a week, same time and...just a hint: scales can act funny, make sure you always use the scale in the same location on the floor. Scales are designed to self balance but sometimes…

Allow yourself to recover. Don't run till race day. Drink plenty of water between now and then. Since you were sick your body was fighting. so you may want to ease up on the calorie restriction for the next two day so that your body can heal. I agree that if you don't feel up to it on the morning of...5k are a dime a…

Keep it, reward your efforts! I cant wait to buy a pair of pants in Abercrombie! Just to say that I could shop there if I wanted! Rock it!

I think in real life we feel uncomfortable asking people to help us. There is this concept that to ask for help is a weakness and that is not accepted. In regards to clothes ... i picked out one set of clothes as my guide to how my body is changing. I would take pictures of the progress but the federal government has…

I dont agree. The stomach is your center. If your stomach is weak it will impact all other activities. A special concern is that many of us are not close to our goal and are more apt to be injured do to the neglect of the core. Adding resistance (weight) will only make the muscles bigger. I think that a variety of core…

A watched pot never boils. I think there a few different things to judge when evaluating your progress: 1. How do you physically feel? 2. How do you look to yourself? 3. How do your clothes fit? 4. What does the measurement say? 5. What have others said about your progress? If you physically feel good, then you are on the…

frankly, I do not think that any rapid weight loss is healthy or long term. One problem I have with this site and the many like them is the availability of false or dangerous stories. With that being said. You might have a sudden loss of weight with the early weeks, but over time it will taper out to a slower pace. Just…

I have had hypothyroidism (Yashimoto's) for over 15 years. make sure you see a specialist and get the right meds for your needs. Take the meds religiously. then get moving.

see if a local health food store has one and see if you can try it.....yea I'm really cheap!

You are not alone. Slow and steady wins the race. Your body is changing, sometimes in our eagerness we don't have our eyes open to see it. Or as my Dad loves to say " a watched pot never boils"

I have recently gone back to my own version of meditation ( i am not formally trained). I find that 10-15minutes of meditation, time to clear thoughts, enjoy a breath, and relax my body is a great way to get though difficult times...even if I have to do it many times in a day. I also love a truly cold glass of water. drink…

I've learned that yogurt with a little granola is a great afternoon snack or breakfast!

Congrats on not smoking! I gave up that demon 15years ago after 10+ years of smoking. There will always be good and bad days. Remember your goals, find support from those whom can support you. If you do slip, dont beat yourself up about it. You are human, you make mistakes,...keep moving forward.

Since you are training for a specific event and date you should increase your distance and frequency of running so that a week or two before, you have already completed a 15k. sunday - 5k monday - 2mile Tuesday - 1 mile with sprints Wednesday - bike, elliptical, rowing machine Thursday - day off Friday - 5k Sat - 10k the…

Techno to Hard Rock. If it makes me wake up...all the better. Favorite bands for working out are Rage Against the Machine, Disturbed, Linkin Park, Tool....

try it before you buy it. I found some were weight restrictive, awkward stride length, or noisy. I ended up with a Schwinn that was under $450. Use it 3-4 days a week (off days I run). You should also look at the footprint of the machine. Does it require arm use? Forget the bells and whistles, cause if you don't like the…

I knew I was fit when I was in the service. Since then I realize that my will to complete a task will sometimes override my common sense. Needless to say, I am no longer fit, but I fake it pretty good sometimes! Obviously working to correct this! Hope everyone got a laugh at my expense!

Assuming that you are working out, remember that muscle weighs more than fat. SO your size may decrease but your weight does not. Sounds like you are at the point where you should look in the mirror and not the scale....I hope to do the same in a few months!

Sounds like your oldest has anxiety. Cause could be just all the changes in the home. You and your husband need to find a schedule or routine that works for you. Your daughter will adjust. Right now she needs to be reassured that you are there for HER. There is no single magic trick. I would continue with the music. I…
