VLCD can do that due to insufficient nutrients, but I also took a look at your profile and see you are 51... Menopause/perimenopause (hormone changes) can profoundly affect hair growth cycles as can a number of medications, thyroid issues, diabetes, stress, skin disorders... As several folks have already stated- a trip to…

Sounds exciting! One suggestion- talk to your OB/GYN BEFORE you even try so they can do a hormone screen (and possibly other tests). Our hormone levels often drop as we get older, and low progesterone can cause miscarriage. If you know before you get pregnant, you can be given hormones to adjust for this. Good luck to you!…

54 year old nursing student- 8 months to go!! :) Lost 11 before MFP- and 18 here in ten weeks. Counting calories, eating clean, some workouts. I have been meticulous about eating and logging... Not so much about working out due to lack of time/access. I am also a work study at school and work alternate weekends at a…

Stevia user here, too. :) Powdered, liquid, and flavored liquid. :) I also buy my protein powder sweetened with Stevia. (About Time protein) I use it in cereal and pretty much anything I want sweetened. The vanilla flavored liquid is good in coffee; I also use Stevia in the Raw in coffee, too. I only use other sweetners if…

I used to hate water... Got myself a Zen water filter unit. :) I keep it on the buffet with different flavors of Mio next to the unit- and if I am not in a plain water mood, I add a shot or two of Mio for flavoring. I have also used flavored stevia- they make a berry one that is pretty good. I now drink a lot more water on…

I like the lighter colored shoes in the updated pic. :) They coordinate with your dress far better than the black shoes. The black shoes draw the eye right to your feet. I'd rather see some silvery strappy/peep toe shoes, but your lighter color pointy toes aren't bad at all. Enjoy your hen party! :)

Uncle Sam- toasted whole wheat berry flakes and flaxseed. WalMart at 2.88 for a 13 oz box, which is 7 servings. 10gm fiber, <1 GM sugar, 7 gm protein, 5 gm fat and 190 calories. I eat it with almond milk, a sprinkle of stevia, and a heavy shake of cinnamon. Add fruit if you want to- or not. Keeps me full for hours because…

I cook up a pot of cilantro lime quinoa about once a week and keep it in the fridge so it is ready to go! Most days I eat it for lunch- 3/4 cup of the quinoa, 1/3 cup corn kernels, 1/3 cup beans, heat that up and top with 1/2 avocado. It's yummy and keeps you full for hours. :)

I think a lot of it is jealousy. For some reason, successfully losing weight is almost guaranteed to bring out the b*tch in some people around us. I just keep my mouth shut about it unless I am around people who are known to be supportive.

I've been using About Time whey protein- only four ingredients. 100 calories, 25 grams protein, no fat, no carbs, no sugar. Stevia sweetened. It's expensive though- $32 for a 2lb container. I mix mine with Blue Diamond vanilla, or original, unsweetened almond milk. One cup adds only 40 calories, and it tastes much richer…

I agree- my major gripe about cereal is it often has minimal protein. :) The particular cereal I mentioned has 5 grams of fat, 10grams fiber and 7grams of protein. But- it is definitely bland without some help! You're getting a great deal on Kashi... We have a factory here in the town where I live and it is still about…

Downtown Sac rocks. :) I used to live in Sac back in the 70's- showin' my age. I skip the bread except as a rare treat if I am dining out. Otherwise I use tortillas- Sante Fe Tortilla Factory (100 calories each- Sam's club has these- pack of 20 is about 5 bucks) and Mama Lupes low carb (60 calories each- pack of 8 is about…
