  • Thanks for posting this, great to get the perspectives and confirmation from the guys :flowerforyou:
  • I've been late on occasion during the last 6 months since I started my journey too, I read up about it on the internet and apparently strenuous exercise and diets can have a significant effect on your TOM... I'm 8 days late this month (and no possible chance in hell that I'm pregnant) but I think this time round it's due…
  • I LOVE IT!! I've had various snide comments from my (overweight) father all my life. Was sooo great to walk through the airport doors after not having seen him in 6 months (and 30lbs lost) and have him not recognise me, haha!! Victory, yes!! One of my favourites was from the induction trainer when I signed up at the gym:…
  • 60lbs gone!? What an inspiration!! You look great :flowerforyou:
  • I totally hear ya - I'm in bed with bronchitis as I write this, major setback and complete demotivator! I lost 30lbs between Oct and Christmas... then Jan rolled round... and I've only lost another 2lbs to date. My motivation is slip-sliding BIG time and I'm finding it a struggle to even log in here! I'm also trying to…
  • I crave chocolate and sweet things like crazy - for a few days before usually
  • Aww, thank you so much everyone! Your words mean so much & keep me motivated!! :flowerforyou: So excited for the next stretch
  • Ok, I've had absolutely NO LUCK with uploading photos to this post - however, there ARE before&during pics and I've now uploaded them to my profile page... go see :))
  • Hi all! I'm just back from my holidays and ITCHING to get back on track with my weightloss journey... I had a fantastic time at home, and my friends & family were blown away when they saw me for the first time in 6 months & minus 30lbs (my mum started crying coz she didn't recognise me at first haha!!). I said before that…
  • I use Spirutein - http://www.spiru-tein.com/ It's tasty, filling and high in protein relative to carbs --> 14g protein for only 11g carbs/serving
  • Thanks all!
  • Loving the fact that I can wear sexy heels again 1) without looking (and feeling) completely top heavy and 2) without the incredible pain caused by the pressure of my sheer weight on my poor feet
  • 12/15/2010 - 9215 Steps without even really trying :drinker: That was just walking to work and back and then shopping for about 90mins... most frustrating thing about the latter - I'm a "fast walker" and get really annoyed when people so-called "amble" in front of me and block my way through. I like to get in and get out…
  • @Tonya - funny you should say that.. For me, it was exactly like that in the first few weeks of my journey - I would crave and "obsess" over my Saturday MacD's fix (bearing in mind that I previously pretty much had a MacD's addiction), but knowing I was "allowed" to have it on my "treat day" gave me something to look…
  • Thanks for the post Mcohan  I'm still going strong... have lost 30lbs in total now :drinker: Starting to increase my calorie intake a little - but still staying under 1000/day and the weight is still coming off. Truth be told, I'm finding it rather difficult to eat more than that in a day (talking about "clean" food…
  • I had the same problem - except that my (cheap) pedometer is oversensitive...got creative and placed it with the "ladies", problem solved!
  • I got so excited and motivated when I saw this thread that I went out and bought a pedometer right away - I'm going on vacation in 4 days time and was concerned about not being able to hit the gym while I'm away...but for this challenge: I'm in!! Only thing is - my pedometer seems to be supersensitive and has no setting…
  • Found myself in a panic this morning coz suddenly none of my works pants fit and it was a struggle to find something to wear!! I was sick for a large part of last week, so spent quite a bit of time off work, obviously not able to get to gym either and was really nervous that this might affect my weightloss...however, last…
  • I do this too, I call it my "treat day" rather than my "cheat day" - it erases the guilt that tends to go with "cheating". I did this almost religiously for the first month of my weightloss journey, and lost consistently every week. Then I stopped "treating" since after getting used to eating "healthy" most of the time I…
  • You are truly amazing and inspirational!!! What did you do to lose all that weight?! You look fantastic =)
  • Agreed! And... I like your style, haha :)
  • Kudos to you lady! I too am a smoker - but I don't have the guts to do the weightloss thing at the same time as quitting... I'm leaving quitting for my next stepping stone once I've reached my goal weight =/ Don't have the strength of will to do both at once - though I realise it is the sensible and MUCH healthier way to…
  • It a nutritionist is fine with you eating fast food she should be fired, I would check her credentials and get a second opinion [/quote] Can I just point out that LarieshaH did not say that her nutritionist was fine with her eating fast food. She said she was taking a hiatus from healthy eating.
  • @LarieshaH - thanks for that, good to know I'm not the only one on this sort of plan. I too don't feel that I've lost muscle, I'm certainly getting more toned - if that's anything to go by, and according to the body fat machine thingy I've lost 4% - I guess that's got to count for something. As far as getting my required…
  • Ahahaha - yes, by family's standards I am often referred to as short, however I'm 5'6" so not really THAT short! Thanks though, your post is quite informative! I'm actually still in the "obese" range - my BMI was 34odd when I started, and I now have another 4lbs to go to be in the "overweight" range... I don't put too much…
  • We weigh weekly, and measure monthly, no calipers. I've lost between 6 and 15cm all over my body & have also lost 4% body fat (measured with one of them electronic thingamajigs).
  • Well that's the thing you see - I haven't ever been hungry, and I'm pretty much eating what I want (I just choose wisely & eat in moderation, also I've cut the junk food & partying a.k.a. alcohol and late night binge-eating). Also, I'm enjoying the workouts...I feel great! So yeh, if that's the question then my answer is:…
  • I really wonder about this minimum of 1200 calories and the whole deficit thing. I started my journey in August - at the time, I was eating an average of about 1500calories per day & working out for about 2hrs four times a week... In two months of eating and working out this way, I lost only 2lbs :(( MOST frustrating!!…
  • YES! Me too =D I'm always rushing, single & live alone - so fell into the habit of dinner "quick fixes"...no point in cooking for one right!? WRONG!!!!! Also doesn't help that I really REALLY like junk food :/ Anyway, I grabbed a popular chain's burger meal on the way home from work a couple of weeks back - when I sat down…
  • Ahahahaha, oh my that made me laugh! =D
