  • Right there with you guys! Except I'm feeling low, so my motivation levels are bottoming out. Blegh. I'm pinning motivational quotes on Pinterest to lift my spirits, and I've found a few good ones so far. We were going to run a 5k this weekend but I went to the Dr yesterday after trying to get this cold/flu/chest infection…
  • I wanted to get below 90kg and I'm still hovering at 90.6kg, so didn't make my Sept goal. The whole month was a bit of a funk for me. I'm willing myself out of it now so my goal for October is to get down to 87kg - my pre-pregnancy weight with my oldest. And make my water goal for every day - 8 glasses!
  • Well that sucks. I think legislation should move in the direction of also having restaurants, especially chain restaurants/take aways, make their nutritional information available.
  • Heidi Mugg & Bean is a local favourite of mine as well, and their lack of NI is frustrating. Please share if you get anything from them!
  • And I pinned a 20 minute core strength routine I'm going to TRY to fit into my mornings; not sure if it will work though! PLus I have to get over this chesty cold of mine :grumble:
  • I've been threatening to start one but then thought what am I going to post? I haven't excercised in 2 weeks and have been having cupcakes for breakfast
  • 37kg's is AMAZING!!!! Congratulations!!
  • I think it's links up with the whole pace of life being faster than before: there's almost an instant 'cure' for anything but wieght loss is still only sustainably achieved with good old effort. Thanks for the reminder :flowerforyou:
  • I love Kauai! Pity the closest branch to me is over 45 minutes' drive :frown:
  • I made the mistake of working out too soon after a blood donation ONCE, and once only :ohwell:
  • Debbie we have a blood donation drive next week and I'm thinking that should result in at least 1lb
  • Man have I had a bad few days :blushing: My son had croup and I was spring cleaning the house and I am just so tired and worn out. I'm hoping to get back on the wagon within the next day or so. My house is looking much better & way more decluttered and my son is back to nursery school today (and I'm back at work) so I'm…
  • Hi Mark! The only thing I can say is don't completely stop the socialising times - you'll end up resenting your effort to get healthier and fitter and eventually you might stop because of it. We recently went on a 3 week holiday to Italy and Swtizerland (think gelato, pasta and chocolate :drinker: and using MFP's mobile…
  • Obviously not suing but using :blushing:
  • Yes - there is a group for South Africans already. Here it is: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/4728-south-africa I've joined a few months ago as well and it's been wonderful to have the App on my phone so I can log my food wherever I am. And thanks for loading all the Woollies foods
  • I'm well on track for September, but I will admit to setting my goals pretty low! I just had a look. my BMI went down from 32 to 29.6 already.
  • I was so ready for my runs this week when the stupid treadmill broke again  If the rain stops then I might even get two runs in by Sunday. My dinner last night consisted of kiddie meal leftovers :blushing: Not a proud moment for me at all.....
  • I guess you're talking about the Shape Mag 12 weeks to 10km plan? Here is the link I'm suing - it seems to be pretty much in line with what I had before http://www.believeinchange.co.za/2012/02/10km-running-workout-plan.html
  • Get back on track with my running programme - training 3 times a week Reach my calorie goal (i.e. not over) 80% of the time Get under 90kg (198lbs) I am planning a 5km race on 6 October with the family, but that's October. I need to train for it now though!
  • Go Debbie  I wish I was there to see their faces! I need to run again tonight, I tried on my dress for tomorrow's fancy dress and it's soooo tight around my arms :grumble: At least it fits but it's tight. I'll just have to suck it up princess :ohwell:
  • I've just come back from a 3 week holiday and by using MFP's iPhone app I only picked up 0.6kg! I am so motivated to keep going. I also started back on the running programme I stopped a month ago because I was sick.
  • I'm back from holiday (Eventually) and weighed myself this AM - only 0.6kg up from before the holiday so I think that's great. Yesterday went really well, and I'm definitely motivated to stay on track this whole week at least (to start out with) since we have a function on Friday and I have a dress I need to fit in to…
  • Thanks for the award  I really am hanging in there now, I am actually down that 300g to a BMI of 'overweight' in stead of 'obese' so I am quite happy with the progress, taking into account the crappy week I had. I am not giving up, I'll just take it slow for maybe another week until I'm healthier again (going to see…
  • Last week was a total bust. Only thing I managed was logging my food every day :blushing: Treadmill was broken (it's fixed now), I came down with a full-blown chesty cold, and I was tired every day so I OD'd on coffee. But I'm still here!
  • Ellie my week seems very similar to yours - it's been awful! I have a cold and it's getting chesty so I'm steering clear of exercise for now. At least the treadmill's been fixed. But I have not exercised 1 single minute this week. Plus I've been eating really badly and have sweet snacks and bad stuff in there as well. Not…
  • My treadmill should be fixed when I get home tonight!! The technician phoned this morning and apparently went to fix it today. So here's hoping it's 100% now! I'm being bad about what I eat this week. I'm overstepping on the calories but I know my calories are quite low, and if I do exercise it really helps. I've never…
  • I have a salad that I make most days for lunch, and I just need to add it as a recipe. Logging all the different ingredients is a PITA, you're right Debbie! I was so close to falling off the wagon, really, but the combination of the weight I'd already lost and the virtual community support made me suck it up and get out…
  • For last week: Exercise Minutes: I made 110 minutes exactly Personal Goal: (yes or no & remind us what it was) : Stuck to my running programme, despite the treadmill breaking down  "You Are What You Eat" (RMC): (yes or no & if yes, what did you do?) I increased my snacks deliberately, which was good, and mostly…
  • I seem to have hurt my hip flexor on the left so I guess the broken treadmill is good timing :( I'll have to work on core strength now which is also very much needed (after 2 c-sections) so I guess my focus for the next week will be on that.
  • You've done well so far hsk71!! 21kg is a lot! I'd like to lose 25 when I'm done, and then KEEP IT THERE!!
