Hi Kale, I completely understand the fight of trying to regain what you once had. Friend request sent, and anyone else can add me as well. Jake

So what did you have in mind??

Welcome aboard Emma! Looks like you're in this for the right reasons. Those links All4Me posted are good. But I can give a little wisdom gained from successes and failures. People say all sorts of "you must do this" and "you can't do that." Every one of those is either a fad or something that worked for 1 person. Get the…

Hi Tisch. I'm actually similar to you, trying to get back into good habits. But I am on nearly every day. FR sent!

100% true! Doing both cardio and weights. Weights because they build muscle and more muscle means higher metabolism, and cardio because well, it gives you more endurance and you can't match how much it burns in one session.

All this is 100% true, but I think that's why running is considered such a good one. Once you break through that "OMG THIS HURTS" barrier and you start getting the runner's high, it becomes very peaceful and relaxing. Plus a nice run lets you just enjoy the scenery and sort of go into your own little world. Of course it…

2 cans of chick peas (one can drained, one not), 3 TBSP extra virgin olive oil, 3 garlic cloves, 1 TBSP lemon juice, 1 TBSP sesame seeds, 1 package of ranch dressing seasoning, salt, and pepper Run all this through the food processor. Now you have hummus that tastes almost exactly like ranch dressing

I love it! Black is best but I admit it was a acquired taste.

Count me in. I'd love to participate

You could substitute some salt with NoSalt or some other salt substitute. That's nothing but potassium chloride instead of sodium chloride. Just remember it has a metallic taste once it gets real hot so your food won't taste right if you COMPLETELY swap it out.

Actually it is true and not just marketing, to a point. Having 2 pairs of running shoes and rotating them out actually makes them last longer for two reasons. One it makes sure they can dry out after the last run. Two, and most importantly, it allows the shoes more time to return to their manufactured shape before you…

So no cheesy and relatively meaningless "I'll motivate you!"s?? But umm...ummm....

I will say I have done the C25k. It worked well. It's one of the few trendy things that actually works well. As far as music goes, the biggest thing is stuff you like. I do recommend finding music that goes in the 175-185 beats per minute that way you can use it for cadence (about 180 steps a minute will force you not to…

Hi welcome back Amy. Friend request sent

Proper shoe fitting and mid-foot strike instead of heel strike cured 99% of knee issues for me. A good way to learn how to make sure you're landing on your mid-foot is build a playlist of songs with approximately 180 beats per minute and make sure your foot lands with each beat. You'll almost feel like you're stumbling…

I'm an engineer as well. Feel free to add me

I'm with these guys. Sometimes I take a few days off and I DRAG. Then again, I have had times where I sat on my butt and ate cheet-os for 2 weeks, went out and had a VERY good run.

You know a long time ago I did WW and noticed the same as you. WW points are all based on a distance ran, but a distance ran at a 12 minute mile. What I did to get around that was built a table in excel where I converted how far I ran in miles to how long it would have taken me had I run at a 12 minute mile. For example, I…

You also can google conversions. Just type 2 TBS in ml or whatever you want and google will convert it for you

I'm in. I need to be held accountable myself. I sent the friend request, and anyone else can add me as well.

I live in a city who has very nasty tasting hard water. Seriously, once a season I have to take pool acid to my sinks to get the calcium deposits off it. You pour the water over ice, you can see calcium start to settle in the bottom of your glass. I also live an apartment where I can't install a fancy filter. Brita doesn't…

Just because you're in a different city or county doesn't mean the water doesn't come from the same plant. For example, in the Dayton, Ohio area, almost all water either comes from Greene County or City of Dayton, regardless of where you are. If you get it from Greene county, the water is always salty and has crazy calcium…

I'd like to get in on this! Sounds interesting

If anything, completely unprocessed, natural, organic, non-gmo foods are the worst at being an exact nutrient measurement. It's not necessarily a bad thing, just that's how biology works with there are no outside influences.

Running in heat does get easier over time, and you'll find it helps when it's more comfortable. Just slow down and carry a bottle of water with you.

I'd call it strength training. Maybe circuit training if it's a high intensity one that involves kettlebells. But probably strength training

For something like this, you're really not worried exactly what the numbers are, you're worried about how they change over the 30 days. So it's better to be consistent with how you measure than it is to be accurate. To answer your question directly, the "best time" to measure yourself is the same time you did last time you…

Dairy in general is pretty highly basic. That's why milk is often recommended for acid reflux, it neutralizes acid.
