Interesting... I am 5'10 (and a half, so count myself as 5'11) and MFP only gave me 1550 to start and now I'm at 1470 per day. Starting weight was 265 and aiming to lose 2lbs/week.

I had to lose 30lbs to go down 1 size :#

I could have written this post!!! I am 5'11 and 250lbs but people always guess my weight is 170 :D I guess it's not a terrible problem to have! Since you're taller, your weight loss will be more noticeable the more you lose. It took about -40lbs for anyone to comment on my loss. Hang in there!

I work at a casino :p

You look awesome!!!

Personally I don't do cheat days anymore because I ate way too much to the point I would keep gaining/losing the same 1-2 lbs every week. Now I just incorporate what I want into my days.

I make little pizzas on pre-made crust using mozzarella and pizza sauce. Every once in a while, my husband and I go and get "real" pizza and I fit it into my calories.

Hey! I'm 26/female and currently 255 lbs, aiming to lose exactly 100 (90 to go!) I was on MFP 2 years ago and lost 55 lbs, so I know I can do this! I gained it all back after getting married :'( Anyone can feel free to add me as a friend :)

You look amazing!

I lost 50 lbs in 4-5 months. My starting weight was 255 though.

I'm 5'10 also and it took me losing 30-35lbs to notice any changes. I only went down one pants/shirts size, too. It's frustrating but after you get past a certain point, the "noticability" becomes greater the more you lose.

I keep a journal, and after a binge, I will write down what I ate that day, how I was feeling before/after the binge, was I having cravings, etc. Usually the cause of my binges is that I didn't eat enough throughout the day, so now I always make sure to not skip meals or go too long without eating. Also, I just log it and…

I have been a binge eater my entire life. About 2 years ago I lost 55lbs and reached my goal weight. Yay! But then I went thru some huge life changes which triggered binges. Well, I ended up gaining it all back PLUS some. If I had to do it over again, I would maintain by continuing to count calories. I will probably have…

I had to lose about 30lbs before noticing any changes.

I love taco salad. It's probably my favorite meal!

I love plain Greek yogurt with peanut butter, dark chocolate chips, and a splash of vanilla extract.

Hey! I'm 5'10 and currently weigh 265, the heaviest I've ever been. I used MFP 2 years ago and lost 50lbs in 4 months. I gained it all back (plus some) when I met my then-fiancé and got married. Life is settled now and I'm back at calorie counting and exercising. Anyone can feel free to add me :)

My fiancé isn't trying to lose weight but he's extremely supportive of me. Even if he wasn't, I know what I have to do to lose weight and how to say 'no.' It also helps that I don't try to be perfect 100% of the time. We had a treat meal on Friday but went out again to eat on Saturday, and I ordered a grilled chicken salad…

This is how I felt when I had a cheat day once a week. I would eat an entire pizza, candy, Oreos, etc and would get so sick! Now I have some treats during the week, just fit it into my calories. Like I had Popeyes one day last week and Taco Bell another. And after both I didn't feel sick because I wasn't over indulging.

Leslie Sansone walking workouts are pretty quiet, they also incorporate hand weights so it's not just cardio. You could do Jillian Michaels still, just skip the jumping jacks and jump rope parts which would be loud on the floor.

I had to lose 30 lbs to drop one size. I know it's discouraging. Keep going!

I lost 50 lbs last year and didnt exercise at all. This time around I'm aiming to lose about 70-80 lbs and have been exercising 5 days/ wk. I do 2 workout DVDs that combine cardio and strength. I do it mon-fri and use sat-sun as rest days.

Your trainer kind of sounds like a nightmare. If I were you I'd drop her... I get she's trying to help you, but plenty of people here lose weight just eating at a deficit and working out on their own. If I were you, I'd probably eat junk then log it as 'quick add.' When she asked what it was I would say vegetables. Haha…

I've done this before, but not with chocolate cake :p I had a few cookies with my morning coffee (fitting into my daily calories, obviously) and felt like my cravings lessened especially at night.
