  • Surely she is talking kilos? We#re not all American you know :)
  • I agree, I lost 40 lbs with no friends or community posts , then put back on 56lbs! As soon as the weight loss stalled I gave up. I have lost 41lbs since May, losing 40 of it in the 5 months May-September. I am currently at the stage where i want to give up again. But this time having friends has made me stick with it…
  • I'm sick of it too. When you look at the internet creaking under the weight of advice about how to lose weight- the easier bit, then compare how little useful info there is about maintenance, no wonder the diet/exercise industry is worth£ billions- we are their guaranteed repeat customers! We are nearly all taken in by it-…
  • Yes, like many others i have lost and gained with MFP- i do not think it is true that in terms of maintenance teh method of weight loss makes a difference to the success rate of keeping it off. i lost 40lbs doing it slow and steady (3-4 lbs a month) then put back on 56! This time i have lost 40 since May 2014 - at 1kg a…
  • Thanks. only addition i would like (other than metric for us Europeans) is to be able to tell it a goal weight, how many calories i intend to eat and it to predict a date when i am likely to reach that goal. Really like having all things in one place, and the Zig zag is very useful. Some people would like to vary that for…
  • Excellent results, thanks for sharing them. It is the sort of thing I am aiming for and just what i needed to read today as i have a shoulder op coming up and was not looking forward to the lectures about needing to lose weight when that is what i am already doing!:embarassed:
  • Yes, exercise has definitely worked for me too, though i am still taking citalopram, exercise definitely lowers my depression. I have lost all the weight on here since this May, i began the citalopram at the end of January. It is not true they all make everyone gain weight- for me it gave me head space to do things like…
  • Just eat a bit less for the next couple of days then go back to maintainance. 600 calories is no big deal and nothing you can't deal with.
  • My thoughts exactly. Slow and steady did not work for me i put it all back on plus another 16 using this site and aiming for ilb a week.- too fiddly, not that I am on VLCD, but i do aim for a kilo a week loss since May and it has worked fine and i am much less bothered by restriction and so on.. Also, the stuff about not…
  • Don't you get sick of the gummi warnings though? yesterday i could not eat more than 20 bears because i was so full already, and when i logged it said "Warning- You are currently not eating enough gummis and are in danger of putting your body into hibernation mode":ohwell:
  • Hi there I think the plain fact is different people react differently to different medicines -so some will get on with wellbutrin, others won't . I put on loads of weight through comfort eating while i was untreated for severe depression and have lost 38 lbs while taking citalopram. I think it is very difficult to say if…
  • Not this again.   get over yourself. It's a free app, if you don't like it don't use it.
  • Sorry replied too soon :ohwell: this is exactly what happens to me so i have given up. Any solutions out there?
  • Congratulations and thanks for taking the trouble to record and share your weight loss. It was so clearly worth it all in the end- very inspirational!.:drinker:
  • Thank you so much for a very helpful and informative post for us beginners!:flowerforyou:
  • You could try giving yourself a goal to log everything for the next two weeks. Then you will find a lot of the foods you eat have already been logged before by you, so there is a lot less updating and you can copy items over, Items become very easy to find. It does become a habit and I've found prelogging is much better…
  • Incredible. Well done.:drinker:
  • This. Definitely this, if you really mean "binge eating". I am male and i do binge eat but have gotten it under a lot of control through proper help via my doctor.. If you mean, like some use the term on here, that you occasionally splurge on a tub of ice cream (One woman wrote on here she had binge eaten on 4…
  • Looks like you found a great surgeon! Congrats on all the weight loss and I hope everything now works out for you
  • i stopped smoking heavily while still losing weight three years ago. I put the weight back on, but not due to not smoking. I smoked 40 a day and was 49 when i stopped. After 7 attempts , i stopped altogether with Champix, and i suffer from depression anyway- it did not make it worse. In the UK it is free. You still need a…
  • At the end of the day all calorie counts, for calories in, calories burned, TDEE and so on are just estimates based on averages. For example each apple we eat is different and each of us is slightly different. but unless the counts are way out, then it is not worth getting het up about. I have to say although there are…
  • I felt exactly like that when I lost 40lbs on here but didn't have the brains to ask advice- i then couldn't stop over eating and gained back 56lbs!!!! had to begin again this May so please try to get on top of this now. Be careful and you already have some great advice in this thread, I can't add to it but I definitely…
  • That's an amazing difference! well done you!:drinker:
  • Okay! And I just want to make this clear. Thanks for the information, not that I can see anyone asking asking you for clarification about anything in such a hectoring tone. Apart from stating the obvious, the purpose is lost on me but measuring food sure works for the majority of people on here, if it doesn't work for…
  • Hi Feel free to add me- i have lost 40 lbs on here and agined it all back and more (56 lbs on !) - started again this time in May. Determined to keep it off this time.so support network would be great:smile:
  • I'm pretty sure it varies so you will need to ring the pub if it is independent, or if it is a chain, then their web site or customer services should be able to tell you. You're making me think about what is and isn't included in restaurant calorie counts now ! If hte worst comes to the worst could you skip the dressing?
  • excellent work you look like a totally different person! Lets see you look like this>
  • Incredible! You look so much more content in the second picture, i hope you enjoy your new-found fitness as much as you deserve.
