  • Love it, especially if it's warm out.
  • Thank you all, this was a really reassuring thread. My gut said this was the case but I wanted to make sure I was being smart and not trying to reinvent the wheel when it came to running. This will make life easier, I can go for a run before my husband leaves for work and sneak more miles in while Miles naps. (Yes, my…
  • Great race and awesome time, congrats!!
  • Have you tried trouble shooting your pump, making sure the seals are still good and the membranes don't need to be replaced? Otherwise I'd add an extra pump session or two to make up the difference, preferably before work if he's not awake yet.
  • Severe PCOS, started at 196+ lbs and infertile. Have lost 47 so far since June 2012 and managed to get pregnant without fertility tx, and easily dropped all pregnancy weight. (Baby is almost 6mo old)
  • I have lost almost 50lbs on a 5'3 frame and had two babies too, plus a c-section. The babies stretched me out a bit and I have a bit of a pooch from that despite being otherwise very toned, but the weightloss has not left me with lots of loose skin, no. And I actually think my tummy will tone back up, the skin went through…
  • Slowly. I've never been able to lose more than 2-3lbs a month while breastfeeding, because I'm way too hungry to eat at a pound a week deficit while also breastfeeding and maintaining my supply comes first. My scale is ticking steadily downwards but at a snail's pace; mmy son is 5 1/2 months old and I am 7lbs under…
  • I dooooo. The funny thing is, I ran 10 on Sunday - or rather, stopped my garmin at 10. I actually ran 10.08 or something, but I didn't want the off mileage on my list of runs LOL. I can run .5s or 1s and will push myself up to finish. On races though I will run the course. I ran a trail 5K that came out to 3.32 haha. I…
  • At this point with only 2 weeks to go it's a question of maintaining what you've done - so no new tips, just enjoy your taper. But I do have some race day tips. 1) Don't go out too fast. 2) Don't try anything new. 3) Don't go out too fast. 4) Have fun. Oh - and don't go out too fast. Seriously. (Not that I've done that.)
  • Chicago one has been a mess for a couple years. I've been opting out. Maybe if they ever get their act together..
  • Me too! That was scary, I have big plans for this year and they don't include getting hurt! I've had shin splints before as a newbie but that was because I didn't know I needed to get fitted for shoes - I thought you just went out there and ran. Having an actual injury was a scary thought, I was so nervous going into that…
  • If you run regularly you're a runner. For me, I felt like a runner the first time I ran 20 minutes without stopping. I even made a post about it: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/726231-nsv-today-i-am-a-runner
  • Fortunately I feel great after a 3 mile run tonight. So who knows, maybe I just pushed it a bit too hard and my leg was telling me "Don't do that, idiot."
  • Well, I think it was actually my achilles I tweaked, looking at some anatomy diagrams. It feels fine today after two days of rest as I didn't work out at all yesterday out of paranoia...I'm going to try a gentle run tonight and see how it goes. It doesn't hurt or twinge or feel tight on movement at all but it does ache a…
  • Thank you all for the advice! It's hard because it doesn't actually hurt unless I really try to deep tissue massage it, so part of me thinks I'm being paranoid and part of me says if I'm not then I'll really regret it! Yesterday was a total rest day - I think maybe I'll do a gentle elliptical workout today and try an easy…
  • Great here - Miles is 4 months old, 15#10oz and 27 inches. We have a tooth I expect to see in the next few weeks and he's working hard to do this rolling over thing. I'm doing great - I'm 4lbs under pre-preg weight, losing about 1/2lb a week while breastfeeding. It's hard to find time to fit workouts in but I've been…
  • This. It's not a look I'd want, but for 250K? We give up years of our life being unhealthily obese for no reason other than life got in the way or that extra donut was delicious, she gives up half a year and is too thin for a quarter of a million. Would I do that to lose weight without that incentive? No...would I do that…
  • I did it every other day when I did it and did do some cross training with Jillian a few times a week :) I think it was Ripped in 30.
  • No treadmill, can't afford one :( Sjp I can definitely do that. It will be my first HM since I was 6 months pregnant so I am not expecting a pretty finish anyway. (Well almost half - I know it's about a mile different, but close enough for government purposes in my book, hah.) Yeah - some have infant adaptors but with the…
  • What kind of training did you do with just weekend running? Now that I've decided this is feasible I'm trying to decide the best way to progress my mileage, haha.
  • Thank you! April seems so soon but I know realistically about half of that will be in better weather which I wasn't thinking about when I made this post. It's not ideal, but I can definitely at least finish, even if it ain't pretty!
  • Rduhilr, I am not comfortable taking him out until he is closer to 6 months (particularly with the thick ice we have out right now - I'm not totally confident I can keep myself safe, haha) and by then I am pretty sure the weather will have broken enough to let me get extra runs in. Thank you for the suggestion though!…
  • Why did I just read that.
  • Thank you all! Baby is great, he'll be 2 months old on Saturday. I am not sure I will ever bring him with me to run...selfishly, running is my me time. Maybe someday though.
  • Did a 2.5m run today and was startled to run an easy first 2 miles at a minute faster than my runs last week. I felt great so I'm not sure why it was so different from last week - the last 1/2 mile was hard but even that was still 30seconds faster than my runs last week. Go figure. I guess I'll just run by ear until I feel…
  • You rock! 56lbs lost and asthma's butt solidly kicked? You rock my dear. *hugs*
  • Thanks for the advice, appreciate it. I know there's no need to rush - I'm not planning another half until April, so I have plenty of time to train. I just miss it, a lot.
  • I can't believe with twins you've had time, I'm barely finding time with a singleton - definitely impressed jchepulis! I'm doing okay, been back to running for about a week and eating at a small deficit for about the same. Running is slowly getting easier but I can't believe how much harder it is and how slow I am. I was…
  • Some people will add breastfeeding to their exercise section so that it automatically adjusts their macros too. I prefer not to do that because then it broadcasts it on my feed and I prefer to only use it for workouts, but just wanted to add that that's an option too!
  • What about hitting the thrift shop to grab a few pieces that fit without hitting your wallet too much?
