And we're in September! Whoa! Kcasey I definitely hear you. My daughter slipped and hit her head - I'm not really able to carry her around but adrenaline kicked in and I rushed her around to clean her up and then to the car when I realized we needed to go to the hospital. I paid for it in contractions that night and I…

It is crazy how close we are all getting...August is just about gone and then all that is between us and our due dates is September...and for some of us, that may not stand in our way...Wow!

Well said Michelle. I love this article personally because it really sums up my thoughts on things. We get treated as if we're children sometimes when we're pregnant. Do X, don't do Y! Not why, or here are the risks and the statistics...just nope, THIS IS THE RULE. Personally? I eat sushi. I eat from a place I trust,…

Is it okay with you ladies if I lurk this thread? I'm due end of Sept/early Oct but I just found out one of my close friends is pregnant and due somewhere between 4/18-4/25 - I'm so excited for her, it will be her first!

Yay! I have 46 til guess date, and 39 til csection if we go that route...THAT is scary!

Oooh sounds yummy! We'll be starting the freezer cooking once I hit 34 weeks.

FWIW I don't find that to be true while pregnant, for me. I would log religiously and measure my food down to the gram. I eat back 2/3 of my exercise cals. This is the same methodology that I used before becoming pregnant and it was always accurate for predicting my weight loss. While pregnant, I know I am not eating…

I totally understand. Believe me, I do! Especially on a fitness site watching the numbers go UP is a complete utter head trip. One thing recommended to me was that if the numbers were really tripping me up, stop weighing in except at the doctor's. It isn't worth the emotional duress if it's beyond your control. You started…

Some people can't watch this thread and that's okay - if it's triggering don't! But I second what I told you before - your body is going to do what it is going to do, as long as you're eating healthy and exercising you can NOT control it. It will be what it will be and it isn't a fault - it's your body doing what it feels…

Baby boy's is easy - it's going to have two sets of take home outfits (one in nb, one in 0-3 so I'm covered for either size), onesies to go underneath is sleeper (two sizes again), a little coat for him (thin fleece) since it could be cool out in the end of Sept/early Oct, a little hat as part of his outfit, and a blanket,…

Could be Jaylas_mom - it's been very hot. It could also just be that we're in huge growth spurt territory and baby needed it this week. Unless the pattern continues or accelerates a one-off isn't bad, and you're doing great. :)

Lisa, I wish that was a possibility - I think I'm on my own though! It sounds really really nice. Chili is a good one I think. We cheat though lol - it's one of the few my husband will cook so we dumb it down. It's so simple with the recipe we use (it's sort of a cheat meal for us - veggie crumbles, canned chili beans,…

We usually use the morningstar veggie crumbles for stuff like that, so that we're actually good to go on, but that's a great idea in general, Molly! :)

For my homebirth with my daughter I was just planning to be nude, tbh. I sleep in the nude most of the time anyway and figured I'd want to be naked while labouring. I have heard other homebirth mamas wear sports bras that are easy up/down, or use their belly bands (the stretchy ones?) as tube tops that go up and down. This…

I got them in the healthfood store last time, haven't needed them this time, but they're a healthier alternative to the chalky tums and are pretty good for most heartburn. I'm not sure how they work but they helped me last time, my midwife recommended them.

Have you tried papaya enzymes?

Unless it's a close friend or close family member, I'd use it anyway without hesitation.

May I ask why? Congratulations Heather! Yahyamommy, it is possible - ideally you want 18 months between births minimum, which you fit. It sounds like you have not found vbac friendly providers - the answer you are being given is not evidence based.

I announced my first pregnancy the day the fertility doctor called and told us we were pregnant. This time because the pregnancy was unexpected (5+ years later!) we announced as soon as we saw on u/s that the pregnancy was viable with a heartbeat, around 6 1/2 weeks.

That's great!

How far along are you? There are growth spurts at different points in pregnancy. Unfortunately, the hardest thing for me to accept is that if you're eating right and exercising, sometimes your body is going to gain anyway even if the calorie don't indicate that you should. Prior to being pregnant my calories in/out exactly…

I gained most of my weight between weeks 20 and 26 so I think based on everyone I've talked to that's really normal, plus you have twins so you're expected to gain more. I haven't weighed in today, still waking up, but expecting to be up around 16-17lbs at 31 weeks. I was hoping to keep my weight gain to 20-25...20…

Agreed - mass sugar cravings are not healthy, and are worse if you have GD, but they won't cause GD. GD is a hormonal and placental strain on your body - you can't do anything to get it or not get it while pregnant.

I love Aisling, that's gorgeous! Aww, what a sweet way to pick a name. Owen Elias is really cute! My daughter sort of helped us decide a name - as we were tossing names back and forth she rejected every single boys name for weeks. (She was sure he'd be a girl.) One day I asked about "Gabriel or Miles?" and she loved both,…

I know! On one hand, I am really uncomfortable. My pregnancy with my daughter, absent the hyperemesis, was less painful. I got uncomfortable at the end but I carried her so differently it didn't put as much pressure on my hips and belly so early. On that note 10 weeks sounds like a really long time, especially when you…
