Awesome photos! My fav is the squat. That was me years and years ago in high school....sigh.... Anyways did my first lower body weightlifting yesterday that I've done in years without being in pain....if you can call it that. Doing "rehab" squats with a 20 lb dumbell. My trainer warned me that this is gonna be a long road.…

Just joined the group and hoping to buy the book ASAP. I was really into lifting a few years back but that came to a screeching halt after a neck injury followed by sciatica on my right side. I've slowly been adding weights while uping my cardio. I've only been lifting 1x a week if that. Any advice out there? Here's my…

Does it still have all the nutrients that regular peanut butter has? I've been reading more and more about how almond butter is better than all the other nut butters.

bump for when I finally have an after shot to compare to the before pic in my profile. Have had so many set backs with injury and illness. But I'm back in the gym and ready to get back my freakishly strong physique

They actually just updated the website and now have 2 videos. One is just going through the workout at the "intermediate" level. Then below it (most of the time) is a video guide for each exercise and they explain how you can do a beginner's workout and advanced. Very helpful. I've been doing Bodyrock off and on for a…

I do something similar to this. High Intensity for 30-50 seconds followed by a 10-20 second rest. Repeat for 12-15 minutes. Scorches major calories. I love it!

I agree. I always go by the rule if the "pain" is from the neck up, feel free to workout, just not at 100%. If it's from the chest down, take the day off and hydrate! Usually I can sweat out head colds pretty quickly at the gym, be sure to have plenty of tissues nearby though

I'm 5'4" currently fluctuating in between 165-170. My ideal weight is 135-140. When I was down to 125 people said I looked too thin and I did not feel my best so I think this would be the perfect weight range for me. I'm a medium to larger frame as well and gain muscle mass pretty easily once I start lifting. After 2 weeks…

I know exactly how you feel!!!!!! I also lost 20 pounds since last December. This past summer, I moved into my own place and it has been wonderful. Started a new job, have regular hours and thought it was gonna be easy to get the rest of the weight off. Low and behold, I have gained back over 10 of the 20 I've lost. So…

Thanks. I'm a desk grunt so no field work for me but I have friends who will be out there and I really pray for their safety. Even the guys working 16 hour shifts here to keep our lights on or get them back on ASAP. During that terrible Derecho storm in July, my friend worked 2 weeks straight, not a day off, 16 hour…

Live in Columbus, OH. We're getting lots of wind and rain but nothing compared to the coast. I also would like to mention that I work for the utility company and they're estimating this "frankenstorm" to be worse that the "perfect" storm back in the early 90s I believe. The people whose jobs revolve around disaster…

Bump! Started the new 30 day challenge last week but got halted by an infection  doing better so ready to get back into it. Thanks again!

My boyfriend has no butt and no hips so he could easily fit into all of my clothes  and they'd probably be falling off of him. I've been heavier than him for the last few years of our relationship. Before I injured my back we were at the same weight and at one point I was well below him which I  Hoping to get…

"Really? you don't look that big??" Yup I do, just carry it proportionally so it doesn't look like much but I'm like 20 pounds over weight. Thanks for the compliment....I think :ohwell: My favorite, from my father "You can have just one bite can't you?" (referring to delicious deep fried food....also I have a gluten…

I do not have celiac but I am gluten intolerant so I feel your pain. I have also started buying flours in bulk, it's a pain in the beginning but if you do a couple short cuts, it'll benefit you in the long run. When I buy the bulk gf flours ( rice flour, coconut flour, etc.) I portion out the amount I need for recipes I…

This recipe is awesome! I have garbanzo bean flour I've been meaning to use for something. (been gluten free for 6 months) might try that instead of the canned chickpeas and just add a little water. Thanks for posting!

My NSV is pretty hilarious and maybe some girls on here can relate. I have been losing weight very slowly but I've noticed that if I stand up straignt with my legs shoulder width apart...my thighs don't touch anymore!!!!! WOOHOO!!!

 Love my Body by Vi shakes. I highly recommend them. My cousin, who is a PT, sells the product so well that he gets his for free. But anyways, it's a lot cheaper than most shakes out there. I by the one month supply. Just the powder and it's like $50 something. Which is a fraction of the cost of shakeology. To each…

Yeah it's delicious with oatmeal. I have to eat GF and the GF rolled oats are definitely like cardboard haha so I use protein powder and a little bit of nutella or stevia to sweeten it. It's like a hot smoothie once you get the consistency (sp?) right.

Interval running has definitely worked for me. Also try speed walking at an incline to build up some of your leg muscles and in my case, your ankles. I have weak ankles and working those tendons (sp?) and muscles out by walking uphill really helps once you start jogging more and increasing your distance. I feel ya on the…
