So how come whole wheat flour costs more?

I'll throw in $5 footlongs for you and your friend to split from Subway. I love a good ham on whole wheat (hold the cheese) but add lots of fresh veggies.

I made this bread last night to have with dinner and the whole time it was baking my kids kept asking if I was baking pizza. I think it actually would be great as a pizza crust. It is pretty dense. I'm looking forward to eating the second loaf tonight with my homemade chicken wild rice soup. *** The loaves are…

My food diary is open...and I log everything. I'm still good!:drinker:

From one mom to another; There is no greater sacrifice than to be a mom and no greater joy. :flowerforyou: Don't worry. You are focused and driven to be the best mom you can be. You are preserving your energy to take care of your little guy. I love to exercise too and can completely relate to the frustration of not getting…

Ok~ So I just got back from taking my kids to my Grandmother's Senior Apartments for their family Halloween party. And it was a success for the kids and for me. They had so many treats out for everyone. Bowls and plates of frosted cupcakes and cookies. It looked amazing. But I did not eat one thing. However the kids came…

Hello Brownie lovers....or I should really say hi chocolate banana bread fans. I made these brownies almost exactly like the recipe called for. The only thing I changed was I substituted a 1/4 cup of melted Smart Balance Butter Blend in place of the oil. Anyway, they turned out good. I wouldn't say they are…

This sounds great. I have always wondered what tricks other people use to cup off the wing tips. Do they cut better thawed? And where exactly is the joint I'm am halving at? Obviously I'm used to eating my wings prepared by other people. But I do have some wings in the freezer that I've been meaning to cook.

Awesome! I have 3 bananas ready to bake tonight.

You rock! I would really love to improve my running time. Thanks for all the helpful postings.

I have been considering buying a HRM because I do not trust what the machines are telling me. I have also been very curious about when people post their calories burned and it seems so high. I run for an hour and am still only around 700 calories burned. I have seen people posting that they burn 1400+ calories in a work…

My little trick: Eat it without milk. I measure out a serving and snack on it. You save calories and taking out the milk does reduce the sweetness overall. But it is still delicious.

Two of my kids had a Halloween party at daycare and the candy is out and we have all done very good at not eating it. My kids have been allowed a couple times to dig in and have a couple pieces for a treat, but I haven't touched it. In fact I really haven't even looked through it. So far so good! I'm looking forward to…

I am benefiting from military benefits through my husband so I know how much that can mean to a family. That being said; I worry every day about him being deployed again. He was deployed to Iraq and gone for 22 months. We have 6 kids under the age of 12 and it affects them significantly. There are support groups and…

My 9 year old son just made these cookies and they are excellent! Easy and just enough for a family afternoon snack. Thanks!:flowerforyou:

Maybe with all your "mad women" exercising your body is actually trying to tell you it needs MORE calories. You may have actually put your body into starvation mode. I can't see your food and exercise diary so it's just a thought. But I know that a lot of people on here have helped me see that increasing my calories has…

Too bad you live so far away. My car broke down today and I don't have a ride to the gym. You could pick me up and I'ld lift weights with you. LOL I think I'm going to do a workout vidio on Netflix tonight at home. Cardio always makes me happy.

This would be really good with the soup recipes that are on another thread. It must be Fall because homemade bread and soup sounds delicious.

Divorce is horrible! I think it would be hard to find someone who has gone through it that won't totally relate to the heartache and stress of it. But...you will also have a hard time finding someone who would say that it will stay horrible. Because really it won't. Things somehow (although slowly sometimes) do get better.…

Bump! I <3 soup.

This is so ironic. I just had a long conversation with my sister today about this exact issue. And I made the decision that I am going to call my Dr. tomorrow. Because if I hear the word Kegals one more time in my life.....:grumble: It's not fun to deal with bladder issues. Good luck to you!

I have the same problem in the morning with Breakfast. I love eating carbs. with my coffee in the morning. Lots of toast or cereal would be a dream for me, but I know that doesn't really get me off on the best start. I've started eating Kashi Oatmeal. Maybe it would be a good snack for you.

I had some test like this done at the YMCA and that is when the trainer told me that the strength classes were considered cardio. Now that I think about it I think she was making reference to the results of the tests done on me. So maybe it's not like that for everyone. But she even recommended that I talk to her before…

Have you tried strength training? A trainer at my gym told me that those "strength" classes are really just cardio. When it comes to working out, I try to always keep my body guessing and challenged. :flowerforyou:

I am Halloween shopping today. Wish me luck, I have all 6 kids with me today.

My perspective on this is that you are correct ~ men in my life seem to be actually more concerned that I am too skinny. I have also had friends whose husbands have literally asked them to eat more. But society puts so much pressure on women to be thin. It feels as if we can never be satisfied because we really don't know…

For a really yummy (treat) salad; Make sugar free jello, one container of lite cool whip, and about 2 cups of cottage cheese. My kids love it!

I just decided to make mine public. I never realized that anyone would want to look at it. But I am very consistant. I log everything. And I will take any suggestions or comments.

I don't own a scale....but you don't want to know me when the scale at the gym is broken. Which seems to happen every few months. But I'ld rather have it out of my home because I know I would be obsessed. Case in point; I'm on MFP a LOT! LOL

Just wanted to say I am one of those that debunks that myth. I have bad knees and I am a runner. My knee problems were reduced significantly once I was running regularly. Best of luck to you on the journey to health.
