  • That's all well and good for some, but please don't discount the fact that some people need medication.
  • Although I would LOVE a fitbit...the one I got is an Oregon Scientific brand. Model number SZ901. It was only $49.95 Aussie dollars. It has the strap you wear around your chest, and a watch. I had to get my son to set it though lol.
  • I'm borrowing my friends clapped out old Pajero 4WD. Nothing works in it, and sometimes it refuses to budge. In fact this week it's beginning to stay on when I remove the key, so I have to stall it to get it to stop. The odometer doesn't work, the speedometer doesn't work, the windscreen wipers stop half way across the…
  • Anyone?
  • ps.. Log EVERYTHING. No matter what! If it bothers you, keep your diary closed so only you can see it, but if you cheat, you are ONLY cheating yourself. Log it so you can look back on it.
  • What I would do is this: If I had hours left in the day, I'd hit the gym and work as much of it off as possible. If it was too late, I'd chalk it up to a learning experience, and think about ways to avoid doing the same thing in future, and then give myself a break! Tomorrow is another day :flowerforyou:
  • Everything's better with bacon!
  • Well done on losing 50lb so far! What a great job! I kinda figured we were all here counting calories. But I guess it's not all about losing weight for some of us :)
  • I've read (and tried it and found it works) to have a big hit of protein before a workout. I usually have chicken thigh or breast grilled and kept in the fridge for just before I head to the gym. Bananas are also great because they have lots of potassium which helps build muscle.
  • I don't need anyone criticizing or critiquing me. I can do that for myself. If anyone knows a better way of doing something, I'm all for it. I prefer the people in my life to be 100% upfront and honest. I have zero tolerance for lies and bullsh*t. But having said that, there are ways of saying things too. I'm here to learn…
  • Had the app, but my phone ran out of memory so had to get rid of it :(
  • I loooove spinach/silverbeet done this way... I keep my bacon frozen and slice bits off when I need it. Usually a couple of slices are about 30 or 40 grams. I fry them off in a pan until the fat has rendered and the base is oily. Then throw in some slivered almonds, usually 6 or 7. When they are toasted, I whack in one or…
  • How about a quick stirfry with fresh hard veges like carrot, zucchini, onion, garlic, then throw in some snow peas and capsicum at the end, a dollop of oyster sauce and a paste with a quarter tsp of cornflour and water to thicken it? If your calories allow, add some toasted almond slivers at the end. Or (Most people laugh…
  • How about blueberry pancakes. 3 massive pancakes at under 400 calories. Let me know if you want the recipe :) Porridge is one of my favourites. (oats) Garlic mushrooms on hi fibre toast. Chicken thigh grilled with tomato, mushrooms and spinach if I'm heading straight to the gym.
  • Magnesium supplements?
  • ^^ This...seems good advice. My son's in the same boat as you, trying to fill out. Best of luck :)
  • We should get around the 4.7g a day, but taking TOO much potassium is extremely harmful and can lead to heart attack. I posted an article on Potassium just the other day on here :)

  • I'm all stomach. Even when I had a lovely figure, I still had a bigger stomach than the rest of me. I've copped the 'ohhh when are you due' thing all my young adult life. I think people have only stopped now coz I'm old ;) *hugs*
  • Porridge (oatmeal), a banana, and a boiled egg usually :)
  • Our gym is closed on weekends, and my Monday workouts is always SO much easier, yet I do heavier and longer. The rest over the weekends really helps.
  • I walk as fast as my chubby little legs will carry me, and always have it on a big incline. It's easier somehow, to walk 'uphill' than it is to walk flat. My heart rate is usually quite a bit higher than yours lol...
  • The thing that annoys me the most, is when the trainer accompanies his/her client, sits on the exercise bike next to them, and neither of them actually do anything. We only have 2 bikes in our gym. Or the trainer stands around, getting in the road as you're moving about the place from machine to machine. And something that…
  • I walk on the treadmill, because I'm not ABLE to run yet. Some of us have a lot of weight to lose, and our fitness isn't great, and this is the start we need. Seriously :-/
  • ^^THIS!!! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
  • Was wondering the same...

  • Each to their own...210lbs = 95 kilos. A good size man IMO. I'm sure his insides are wonderful. Also you have to realise, that it might not necessarily be the WEIGHT making him look old....he's 40 for crying out loud. No longer a 20-something. He's ageing. Reality.

  • No, have never experienced this, however, I have experienced some weird things since calorie counting. I get a massive high from sugar, and I've pretty much eliminated it from my diet, but twice now I've had a 'sugar high' at random times. I guess the natural sugars are starting to affect me the same way.
  • That really happens???? Being middle aged and overweight has it's advantages...
