Good for you Tammy!!! Keep up the good work!!!
-
I sent you a friend request too!

I eat this way most of the time too, but I commend you for doing this! It's so important to success to avoid all that processed junk! Good luck!!!!
-
I also forgot to add that it doesn't happen overnight. I developed better and better eating habits over time. My food diary is a lot different than it was when I started, or even last summer. You grow and learn new things slowly so it sinks in. One step at a time

I agree, get rid of the bad foods in the house. If it's not there, you can't eat it. When I'm hungry, I just reach for something and eat...but I don't have any processed food in the house, so it's a "whole food" choice. I do cheat about once a week, but everything else is basically home made. I don't shy away from high…

the article doesn't state anything about whole fruit being bad...in fact, it states that it's okay to eat whole fruit. But NOT fruit juice which is fruit without the benefit of fiber.

I try not to "congratulate" anyone who I know is not eating enough calories, especially if they are under 1000. I try to make a point to encourage someone when they eat their calories plus daily exercise calories! It's how I lost and it's how many other people here have lost. And I agree that if I can't see their food…

Yes, ditto on the congratulations. That's just fabulous. If only it were easy to get people to live healthier lives....if it were, then all of America would be fit and healthy! haha! I guess all you can do is hope and pray that he will come around on his own. It's the only way unfortunately. Good luck, and continue to be a…

omg, why do people post silly stuff like this without checking snopes.com!!!

I was shocked and disappointed too. It made me feel like the show is just getting too commercial for it's own good. I'll still watch, but I don't know how happy I'll be seeing her. oh well, life goes on!

a safe amount to lose is more like 1 pound a week, possibly 2 at the upmost. I think 3 pounds might be more applicable for someone who is 300+
-
Keep in mind, you burn calories just by "living" - MFP gives you a calorie deficit depending on how you have your goals set. If you have it as 1 lb a week loss, then your calorie deficit is 500 calories. and you really don't want to stay under 1000 - 1200 calories. Just try to get as close to your set calories as possible,…

Good luck on your journey! I've been using MFP for almost 2 years and even now that I am in "maintenance mode" I still log in every day and record my food intake and exercise. It's a lifelong journey, it doesn't just stop when you reach your goals. Keep that in mind, and you will be sucessful!!!!
-
good luck on your journey!!!!!

yeah, usually 2-3 but I don't stress about it too much. How is your water intake? also, do you take calcium pills at all? I found that when I was taking too much calcium at once, it was causing bloating.
-
I joined in July 2009, so almost 2 years. I will be coming up to 515 days logged in this week. I'm in maintenance and still logging in every day.
-
huh? where did you get your info that lettuce is generally pretty useless nutritionally?
-
So, experiment with the recipe. instead of sweetened condensed milk, use almond milk or coconut milk. If it doesn't work, make another adjustment. Cooking is all about experimentation.
-
did you try google? I just googled and tons of pages came up. just edit the recipes found to your own liking, replace the condensed milk with some almond or coconut milk

nobody's mentioned the fact that you only have 10 lbs to lose, so losing 2 pounds in 2 weeks is really good. Don't expect that kind of weight loss every week, it's not going to happen with such a small amount to lose. Plus you are setting yourself up for failure by calling it a "diet" - a diet is temporary, treat it like a…

Since I'm at my goal weight already, I still wanted to share that my "carrot" which I didn't even realize WAS a carrot was my wedding dress. I never in a million years dreamed that I would ever fit into it, but a couple of months ago, on a crazy whim, I tried it on, and whoo hoo it fit! It fit even better than it did back…

I replied to you by PM, but I figured I'd also post here if it helps someone else. I went through the same fears. I was so nervous that I was going to start gaining, but I became more and more secure as time went on. I am aware that I am a compulsive eater, and even though I don't dwell on it, I don't ever forget it. I…

Thank you everyone! I am now going to shoot for 1000!

I don't use it as a weight loss product, but I do use it to make eggs in my cast iron fry pan. I love it. Make sure to only buy virgin or xtra virgin. I have been using the Jarrow brand. I found it online at iherb.com

I think you need to talk to your doctor. only (s)he can give you the best answers for you.
-
That's just wonderful!!!

I like nuts, dark chocolate, raisins, oranges, apples, bananas. I try to stick to all natural whole foods. Even a peanut butter and jelly whole wheat sandwich (homemade bread) is a good healthy choice.
-
and you look so happy in that last photo! so proud and accomplished! Congratulations!!!

this is such a cool idea. I hadn't heard of this process before! I'm looking forward to trying it. I was googling and found more info for making ice cream in a bag, it looks like you can also use a coffee can as well as other ideas. here's a recipe on allrecipes I found, also it gives some info on how this works too.…
