  • I'd like to join in Thanks!!!
  • congratulations!!!! Happy 700! Keep on loggin!
  • Good for you! Congratulations and keep on going! good luck on your journey!!!
  • It doesn't sound like a lifestyle change to me, sounds more like a fad diet when someone has to live by rules. Eat every three hours, or don't eat this after 3pm. !!!! If you can live like that for the rest of your life, then go to it, but for me, it's not something that I can maintain forever. I think a more sound…
  • 945 days of logging. On July 20th, I just celebrated my 3rd year anniversary with MFP. I was logging in before they started logging the login days. Good luck everyone!
  • I suppose the level of health and nutrition in an egg depends on where they come from. Buying in a supermarket, you're going to get eggs loaded with anti-biotics from chicken raised in a factory farm. Take the extra step (and just a couple more dollars) and buy them from a source you can trust. You'll get healthier eggs!
  • You sound like a compulsive eater, same as me. It doesn't go away, at least not for me. I just try my best to keep it in control. I don't keep any junk food in the house, but when I go to family parties or out to eat, it's tough to say no. I am aware of it, I accept it, and I just do my best to not let it take over my…
  • Wow! Thank you all so much. What nice comments!
  • Thanks everyone!!!! Keep up the good work!
  • Actually, if you buy in season, it's not that expensive to buy organic natural healthy food. If you are buying tomatoes from Florida or Mexico in the cooler months, then you are going to be paying more. Same with apples, peaches, grapes, etc. It doesn't have to cost a fortune to eat healthy
  • There is just me and my husband, and I am on a frugal budget, I try to spend between $350-$400 (ETA per MONTH), I eat basically seasonal, local if possible, organic if possible, hardly any processed foods. My total includes all food: groceries, dining out, vitamins/supplements, gardening and entertaining. I joined a group…
  • I also think it's totally possible to log your food forever... Well maybe not FOREVER, but I can envision myself doing it for a good long time. In fact I just passed 865 days of logging here at MFP and I don't think I missed a day of food logging, even befor MFP was keeping track of log in days! It's all what you feel is…
  • Yeah, maintenance is tough. I'm having similar issues, except that I'm losing extra weight, and I'm justifying a few bad instances as "trying to put a little weight back on..." It's all balance, the first step is admitting you have a problem and that it'll never go away. You have to just live with it and try to keep it in…
  • Maybe it's a sign that you shouldn't be eating eggo's. It's pretty easy to make your own pancakes, muffins, waffles, and you can freeze 'em just as easily. :)
  • And this is in the "food and nutrition" board, why??? Seems like it's more of a chit chat kind of random topic.
  • It's called "compulsive eating" and it'll never go away, you just have to find a way to deal with it somehow. I am a compulsive eater, and sometimes it comes back and I lose a little control, but then sometimes I can totally handle it. No one can tell you how to handle it, it has to come from analyzing and learning more…
  • Losing only 10 pounds can be more difficult than losing a larger amount!!! You will be fine!
  • By the time I started maintenance, it wasn't a big jump because I had already slowly upped my calories along the way. I would start off slowly, adding more calories per week. And PS I ended up losing more weight in my maintenance.
  • You did not gain "weight" from one dinner. My guess it's just excess sodium. to gain one pound of fat, you would need to eat 3500 extra calories, and I doubt that you did that. Just leave the scale alone for a few days, drink lots of water, and don't give up!
  • My husband is not a huge Veg fan and he really doesn't like zucchini and eggplant. But he loves my roasted veggie pancakes/fritters. I roast seasonal veggies in the ove and then I blend them in the food processor. I add a little whole wheat flour, say around 1/4 cup, maybe an egg, and some milk depending on how liquidy the…
  • Did you check their web site. Most chain restaurants have nutritional data for all the menu items. Then you can know ahead of time what to order.
  • I agree, I've been a faithful logger to MFP keeping track of my calories and exercise for over 2 years. I've been in maintenance for months and still log all my food. I know it is what keeps the weight off!
  • since when is a white potato a "simple carb"? http://caloriecount.about.com/calories-potatoes-white-flesh-skin-baked-i11357 I believe everything in moderation. I still occasionally eat white rice and potatoes and sometimes even *gasp* white pasta. Food should be enjoyed not feared.
  • Adjust your macro nutrients. There is no law that states you have to stick to what MFP says for % - they are just guidelines I have adjusted my nutrients to fit my own needs.
  • Glad to help!~
  • No one will be able to give you specific advice unless they can see your food diary. It sounds like you aren't eating enough
  • Why not just add your own ingredients into the recipe section on MFP, that way you can have the exact nutritional data for your food.
  • If you search the forum for "eating exercise calories" you'll find about a million prior posts with pro and con views. Good luck! PS. I doubt you gained a pound of fat in one week, that would mean you ate 3500 extra calories. Could be water retention.
