Hi all,
I am on Maintenance and now upped my calories. It seems way to high. While I was on my weight loss calories I barely lost a pound here and there, but I have reached my goal and now changed my settings to maintenance. Will I gain on Maintenance?

It may depend on how active you are on maintenance. If you continue to workout and make good choices you will probably stay static.0

Not if you make the right decisions and exercise. I would suggest slowly upping your calories... 100 a day would work Good luck and congrats on reaching your goal0

I have maintained since June. When I was trying to lose weight I only weighed once a week. Now I weigh myself daily in the morning at the same time every day. That way I can monitor gains and loses and modify my exercise and calories. I continued to log my food and exercise for about 2 months. Then I logged to about dinner time so I knew what I had for dinner and a snack. I haven't been logging really anything for the last few months just making smart choices and watching my weight and I am doing great! Good luck!0

Thanks, my exercise has always been consistent so that isn't a problem.0

By the time I started maintenance, it wasn't a big jump because I had already slowly upped my calories along the way. I would start off slowly, adding more calories per week.
And PS I ended up losing more weight in my maintenance.0 -
Really rtmama? It took me a year to lose 10 pounds, and I am faithful with the working out and the eating. I can't imagine maintaining with over 1700 calories now as my maintenance now.0

Losing only 10 pounds can be more difficult than losing a larger amount!!! You will be fine!0

What is your maintenance calories for your current stats as of today? Eating at maintenance won't gain you weight. Your feeding your body just enough nutrients/calories to maintain a specific weight. If you eat above your maintenance, then yes you will gain weight.0 -
I've been on maintenance since about June also and have actually lost a couple more pounds and dropped about 2 sizes. That has more to do with my exercise, though. I still eat back my exercise calories every day. I'm 5'6" and about 120lbs (119 at the gym this morning) and eat roughly 2000cals a day. But I still workout hard 6 days a week.0
