Well, unless you want to spend the rest of your life trying to tell your mom what she can and cannot buy with HER money to have and eat in HER house.... you better start 1) getting over it or 2) getting a job/moving out/buying your own groceries and still getting over it. ;-)

Here's a more intelligent article on the subject of lifting for women: http://www.shape.com/fitness/workouts/8-reasons-why-you-should-lift-heavier-weights

Well, I guess she's onto something if you want to look like this:

It's psychological, just like morebean pointed out. If it wasn't, you wouldn't 'feel like a pig' :frown: I can relate to those feelings, though. There are days when I feel like that, and then I log... and realize I'm under my goal—sometimes by so much that I NEED to get more food, regardless of how much of a piggy I feel…

Agree with MaryPatMcCue and SideSteel! What is your carb ratio goal? I sometimes have oatmeal for breakfast, or for a snack/treat, and I'm going for no more than 40% carb—so I just balance it out the rest of the day.

First ask yourself, "How much money does it look like they put into advertising, packaging, and trying to recruit 'reps' for their product?" Then, you'll have the answer about how many times you'll have to pay them money to continue the results.

All I know is my personal experience, and the one friend I have who did it was completely unwilling to try other methods that would take more time, and even afterwards was unwilling to be educated to change her eating habits. She also spent over a year in the hospital due to complications. So, it is hard for me to view it…

I don't think it is strange, and I actually got the idea from another MFP member, but PB in oatmeal. DELISH!! I also like to make egg salad with avocado instead of mayo. Realllllyyyy good.

Oh. My. Gosh. YESSSSSS. +1111111111111111 I love that movie!!! OP: - I mix in Greek yogurt and top with strawberries - Mix in the blender with a banana, scoop of PB, 1/4 c greek yogurt, and 1 C soy milk for a smoothie/milkshake thing - Use it in baking protein bars (look up Jamie Eason's protein bars, those are yum!) - Mix…

So much truth.

If MFP told you to jump off a bridge, would you do it? But seriously.... I don't know why it does, but it is crap, and I wish they could change that. It's a bad system. And MFP is not God, so I wouldn't worry too much about it being wrong.

^ this. You're eating too little, or not logging what you're really eating. Either way, if you REALLY want answers, you have to isolate and evaluate each factor that is coming into play, and that may be one of them. You can't just tell people you don't want to hear it and ignore it.

If cardio is too boring, go lift. ;)

I've tried it multiple times, and was *almost* successful multiple times, but hit a serious plateau and didn't find that their plateau-busting tips helped at all. The only thing that has helped me get past that was MFP, along with the EatMore2WeighLess group. What I liked about WW: - It has a nice interface - Their content…

More importantly...... WHAT did you eat that had 160g of protein? I need to know for MY lunch. ;)

But some people are to quick to assume that EM2WL doesn't work if they don't see results right away :/ There are some members who took a year to fully heal their metabolism. It all depends on how long you've been restricting. I saw a great quote in an article (not related to EM2WL) recently, about the same scientific…

Thought: Percentiles are based on data collected from lots of people. Just because MOST people have a reported low RMR, and you don't fall below most of them, doesn't mean that it is not unhealthy, just that it is uncommon. At your height and weight, this is BAD, and I agree that you probably did metabolic damage after…

Ah, I see. I didn't know what it was, so I googled it.

My mom has celiac disease, as well as a few other friends and family members. And the purpose of carb-free bread is NOT to accomodate a person with celiac disease.... There are plenty of gluten-free breads that are delicious. I especially like Udi's, and Food for Life. They're not low-carb... but they are gluten-free and…

Wait... you notice other people at the gym? Also, how is she in your way if she never gets on a machine? lol....

You can't. That's why being in a relationship with someone takes patience and acceptance on your part. Just do your thing, and let them come to their own place of wanting to change, just like you came to yours.

Get more protein. I've found that once I upped my protein to 30-40%, I stopped having as many cravings/binges. Fruits and veggies are great, but they are actually mostly complex carbs, except for some veggies like mushrooms that actually have a good protein content. Fill up on eggs, greek yogurt, lean protein like fish,…

Two eggs Two slices canadian bacon A little cheddar On a toasted english muffin 373 calories with 28g protein!! Wooo :) And yummy, of course.

Bump because this is awesome! Also: Who wants to do a XXX calorie diet with me for 30 days? threads

Oh, I'm glad you noticed. I was really trying to sabotage whoever I can with it. Sabotage!!!

Ugh! I hate when people get offended on the internet! I'm telling the mods on you.

I think hula-hooping would be more suitable for an hourglass figure than a long banana. Where is your research to back up your opinion? Long banana: the plastic ball pit at mcdonalds As demonstrated here:

On the one hand, I think it is great that something is being done... like requiring some sort of standard and providing warning labels. Fake images of unhealthy people as an ideal can be just as dangerous as other things that currently have warning labels. But I do think that BMI is not a good indicator, and if their goal…

None. Bleh! Those are my least favorite kisses. Give me some dark chocolate ones, though... with almonds.... oh, the whole bag!
