  • I think you shoudl get a heart rate monitor. That way you can check your calorie burn every once in awhile to make sure you are working out hard and not just "phoning in" your workout while you are watchign tv?? That would keep you more accountable???
  • Thanks for the ideas guys! I do appreciate it!!! I hope ya'll have a great v-day too :)
  • The reason you are feeling hungry from that and other drinks/foods like that is because of the levels of aspartame in them. That is an artificial sweetener that has been clinically proven to make you feel hungry!!! It's horrible! And it acts pretty much worse in your system than regular sugar. Aspartame had to try like 13…
  • Thank you!! i will be using this for sure ;)
  • You are doing just fine. Working out the day before a weigh in really shouldn't do too much. Your body has all night long to try to regulate itself, IE when you "go" in the mornings :) Your body does need some rest in between. I workout alot too and have to remember that it is okay to take a day off here and there :) Hang…
  • GREAT ATTITUDE :) Keep the positivity rolling!!!!
  • lighter weights more reps for us ladys who want that slim toned body without the bulk :)
  • If you are doing like protein powders, I would highly suggest whey protein. I have been using that and really love it. That promotes the build up of lean muscle mass. You won't get bulking from eating alot of protein. It's the other stuff in some of those mixes that puts the bulk on.
  • Sufficient amounts of protein are great to have after workouts because they can aid in lean muscle mass. For your lean muscle mass you will not get bulky just by having a regular protein drink. You aren't drinking like some huge amount for body builders right? Around 20 grams is usually plenty for me. And make sure to stay…
  • I had started my running in intervals. It gets your strength and stamina up so that way you can go longer once you come back down to a slower consistant running pace. You realize it's not that much work after doing those shorts bursts of intensity. I so wish we had a Susan G. Koman 5k around me in Michigan. I'm running in…
  • Don't worry much about your protein, that really isn't going to effect you negatively if you are over. Especially if you are working out hard, that is going to go and replenish the lean muscle tissue so it's goodl. MFP is really low on their daily proteins, I'm almost always around 30 grams over every day! What has helped…
  • That is GREAT to hear for me because I eat clean as well adn so I didn't want to HAVE to change my dietary habits because of this program because i'm already eating healthy and like the way I eat. So this was exactly what i was looking for. Thanks for your encouragement and knowledge!

  • Thanks for your post! I think I'm just going to go for it. Were teh workouts really long at times? I've heard that some of them are 90 minutes long. I love working out but finding 90 minutes is going to be tough.

  • I cube up my tofu like I would chicken breast and use it in place of the chicken in things like stir-frys and stuff like that. It's a great filler for anything like that. Hope that helps you some. And I always buy extra-firm because it holds up better for really hot cooking.
  • facebook doesn't support those tickers :( I already tried as well :( Only works on myspace.
  • Holding yourself accountable by putting yourself out there for others to view and know your journey too is the BEST way to make it stick I think! GOOD FOR YOU!!!! I have done the same thing and it's working!! it's been 4 weeks and I'm down 11 pounds!! Lets keep rockin :)
  • I would say start with TurboJam, I really LOVED that program! You can modify it so much to fit your individual level but you can also torch some serious calories with it. My husband and I are "arguing" over what to get next . . . either Insanity or P90X. I think Shawn T is totally cheesy and that just turns me off but the…
  • This was AMAZING!!! Thanks so much for sharing your personal wisdom with all of us!!!
  • Hi! I have Turbojam and LOVE it!! Chalene really gets you moving and everything can be made high intensity or low impact depending on where your body is at right now. You are torching calories and sculpting muscles with that for sure. Your workouts are what you put into it. So as long as you are watching your diet and get…
  • Hang in there honey!!! You CAN and WILL do this!!! Just stay strong and give yourself some credit :) Sounds like you've done amazing so far! It's okay to stray a little as long as you come back after a "slip-up". You are a strong woman and you have complete control of this. Let it empower you :)
  • Eating clean is AMAZING and SO healthy! It's how you should (or could) eat for life, not really a "diet". There is a book I highly recommend by Tosca Rena called "the eat clean diet" (it sounds like a fad diet but the word diet here literally means your everyday diet forever thing). I LOVE it!
  • Thank you! I just LOVE it, it's soo healthy and how i honeslty believe we were really intended to eat. I will do more oatmeal and fruits in the morning for sure. i'm jsut always pressed for time so it's nice to pull out something quick to eat. Good luck with your things and I hope things are okay for your mother! maybe you…
  • Well Like I said I know roughly how many calories are in what I'm eating but I'm not one of those people with a calorie book counting to the 0.009 of calorie you know? Also I'm not eating prepackaged foods and am very aware of what sodium can do to your body. Thanks for the thoughts and advice though!
  • I am 25 years old, 5'8" and weigh 164lb. I haven't been losing since last week Wednesday, I dont' expect to lose every week but I certainly do NOT expect to gain 3 pounds. I weigh myself religiously every morning wearing the same thing (nothing) at the same time. How could I gain 3lbs in a week with all that I"m doing. And…
  • What do you mean eating my exercise calories?? Doesn't that defeat the purpose?
  • To be honest, I don't really count my calories, I just knwo my portion sizes and what the approximate count is . . . it's just really frustrating. Thanks for the tip!
  • But even if I'm not eating enough, which I think I'm close to it . . . shouldn't I be losign weight regardless??? Or if I didn't lose weight, shouldn't it just stay the same and hit the wall so to say? Why would I GAIN weight??? *cry *cry :(
  • Every day at the same time . . . I'm obsessed too but I'm learning that my weight can fluctuate adn when it does, it usually doesn't end up to be a good day for me. I think I'm going to try once a week :( But YES you are NORMAL :)
