  • I am just starting this program after a few years of SL 5x5 I needed the change and I am totally digging the BBB aspect but a bit confused as to doing the 5x10 for the same lift or changing it up. Any input is appreciated.
  • I know for a fact that initially when you start to weight train there is a lil bump in weight, i am thinking due to the increased cals necessary to recovery properly. But hang in there as your body adapts the weight will come off and your toned lean muscle mass will show. It is not uncommon for your weight to yo yo a bit…
  • I do not advocate violence, but i once ***** slapped a muscle head guy that was yanking around and cursing out his woman in the food court at the mall......
  • http://stronglifts.com/strength-training-for-women/ here you go my dear and there is also a group on here in community called Stronglifts for Women which should provide you with a ton of information to get you well on your way. Good luck momma!!!
  • I know i workout in the am so i am sure to get it in and there is no chance of skipping due to the day getting away from me with the fam and work....
  • Set an alarm and get up early for 21 days straight and your body will catch on and you will awaken on your own, so long as you are getting enough real rest and sleep.
  • Where are yall from??? I know plenty of lifting ladies that warm up with over a hundred pounds....
  • Well my first fail on OHP was at 75, then 80, then 90 and still working back up to 95...overhead sucks balls but i am gonna keep doing it gotta put the pride aside on this one even though it sucks when squat and deads are over 3 bills and OHP aint even of a c-note....what can I say other than KEEP BANGIN!! i'll get there…
  • I usually train fasted but some weekends I will lift lateer in the day. I have done 1rm both ways just for comparisons sake and found my numbers were the same but my fed lifts seemed a lot harder, but it may have been mental, cause i was thinking about it being a fed lift the entire time.
  • LMAO!!! Cool thanks bro!!!
  • Gotcha!!! Thank fellas I am thinking I will cut myself a break and avoid the mental beating of failure too soon by using Smolov for one discipline at a time ie, smolov jr for squats for 3 weeks and 5/3/1 or 5x5 (lowered) for the others. And change the smolov excercise each 3 week cycle. I'll keep yall informed!!! thanks…

  • DEATH IS AN *kitten*!!
  • Hey momma I got ur back, i was recovering from a herniated disk and gained madd weight and couldn't do anything so when i decided to get real and work my *kitten* back into shape i turned to this 5x5 cause it looked easy to commit too and got hooked. If you can stick with it you will tear all that baby weight up and turn…
  • Pretty damn smart for a "rockin dumb blonde" great advice!
  • Hey fellas, i have been doing 5x5 for a while now but had some issues and had to basically start from scratch for bench and overhead, i also do bent rows instead of pedlay rows. I have fooled around with the off days a good bit but have settled for the following. Su-W-F 5x5, T-Th Arms routine, M-T-Th-S walk at least 4…
  • Yessir, I think you are a bit too forward at the waist, try to get you head up and eyes forward. i use a mirror and try to stare myself in the eyes that way ur back stays straight and it is easier to keep ur form proper. for the record I was way stiffer than you when i started, kinda like the tin man from oz so you are…

  • I have a APBT, Mr Bishop and we walk 3 to 4 miles a day, everyday if possible. The funny thing is he acts depressed if we don't walk, he actually mopes around with his leash in his mouth beggin to go walkin.
  • I agree 3x5 may be your answer, assuming you are resting and eating enough to cover both hoops and weights.
  • It is on Android and it's a free one called Liftbook
  • For me I vary it like Wiser said, I have an app that generates warm ups based on the work weight and they are usually 2 set of empty bar then 2 sets of 3 and one set of 2 all increasing weight 10 to 20% depending on what work weight is set. I usually bypass the third and do one set about half my work weight and it seems to…
  • Well maybe not so soon if your level of cardio is normal for your body, I mean what about people that have highly active careers and are always running around, I think your body adapts to your lifestyle so adding the 5x5 to an existing high cardio level, you may have to up ur protein level a good bit. just my thoughts I…
  • Well I had a ton of rest yesterday and had a nice walk prior to my workout today and I straight ripped ****!!! Felt like I could do another entire workout, but I didn't!!! I also made sure to take timed rest between sets and it worked exactly as it was supposed to, no issues what so ever!!! Hells yeah!!!!
  • Yeah I can change my times I just like getting it in early in the day just in case something comes up, I will just give myself plenty of time or switch to afternoon as opposed to rushing through it
  • Yeah i think I may be pushing too hard on off days, maybe stick to walking and I must be aware of rest periods between reps, I tend to rush a bit because I usually workout in the morning before work and find myself short on time and pressing to get my workout in, gotta slow things down and take my time. I did have surgery…
  • Hey momma, I know you are all gung ho right now but start slow and build up your endurance and your confidence don't go all out from the start cause when it gets tough you may falter, besides it is really easy to get injured early on while you find your legs. Oh also I suggest make your food diary public and put everything…
  • I agree, the whole eat anything clause had me really confused, the thing for me is that I busted my hump watching my food and cals to drop 20 lbs and I am not in a hurry to go piling it back on besides I changed a lot of bad habits that I want to stick to, so I am gonna try it my way it seem to be working so far.
