I've lost 14kg (almost 31lbs) since the middle of August (2.5 mos). Been at the same weight for a few weeks though

There's another topic like this somewhere on this board, if you're interested in more numbers. I'm 5'7". SW: 285 size 18 CW: 244 size 16/18 GW: 150 (back when I was 150, I was size 12 with a size 8 waist....cursed hourglass)

When my stepdaughter was 7, she came home from 4 weeks at her mom's with three chins and wearing the only thing in her wardrobe that still fit--sweatpants and a tshirt--and she looked like a stuffed sausage. I didnt weigh her, but I reversed the damage from her poor diet there by just providing a wholesome, balanced diet…

I have the iPad app. On 'home', top right, you can switch between daily and weekly. It'll show you the daily net calories and weekly net.

Did you fly on this trip? When I went overseas last year, I gained 20 lbs in two days. I was retaining water from the flight and change in food, constipated from flying, travelling and the food, and god knows what else the problem was. You didnt actually do any damage, I'm sure. Just go back to eating properly, exercise…

I track my week in advance. I meal plan for a week, and it helps me keep everythingbAlanced and I can see where I can add in snacks when/if I want.

I'm 5'7" and I'm aiming for 150, although with my frame, I would be happy between 150 and 175.

Its just advice. Why do you insist on trying to control what others say? If you dont want to follow the advice, dont. Dont get so upset over something so trivial.

Did the label say 1 bun = 180 calories? Or was it "per 100g" and you weighed it? Labels are accurate as they can be, seeing as though calories are estimated,, on the in and out sides.

Just flipped through a bit of your diary and noticed that you eat basically nothing for meals (2 egg whites for bfast and thats it? Come on...). You are afraid to eat during the day because you know you will binge at night. But you're binging because you're hungry because you're starving yourself during the day. Perhaps if…

I know a lot of people who look older when skinny. In certain people, the extra weight makes their skin more taut, whereas if they were thin, there would be visible wrinkles. Example: my oldest aunt looks 10 years younger than the youngest, who is already 10 years younger, and the oldest is fat, the youngest is skinny.

I would personally eat closer to my bmr than the calorie limit mfp gives. And you need to eat more if you're not sedentary.
-
I dont know how old you are, but to quickly calculate tdee, I said 25. I put sedentary. Your bmr is 1860. Tdee to maintain is 2232. The calorie goal it gave was 1786 to lose 46 lbs per year. If you want to lose faster, ...96 lbs in a year (you wont because weight loss slows down the closer you get to your goal) then it can…

Eating carbs in the evening makes you sleepy! If you're hungry and have calories to spare, eat!

You can add me, i'm 111kg down from 125kg (roughly 180 to 144lbs)

When I started mfp, I lost weight at 1450cals. Then mfp changed my cals to 1340 to reflect my weight loss. Weight loss slowed down. At 117kg, and exercising, it shouldnt have. After 3 weeks, I broke through and lost more weight. At 111kg, mfp changed my cals to 1220. I havent lost any weight in over a month, so I have been…

The last time I went out, I had gin and 7 for 200 cals, sambuca for 100, and white wine for 120. I saved up calories to drink.

I only buy new clothes when mine arent fitting anymore. By that I mean falling down (pants), baggy waist (shirts) or not holding mah boobz up (bras).

Its really easy to eat a lot of calories in nuts. A handful is enough, but get me near a bag of cashews.... The best thing to do, as with any snack, is measure it out into a bowl and calculate your calories before you eat, then put away the rest. That way you dont keep muching until everything is gone and wonder, oh god…

Well, you're going to have to make some choices. I would personally replace the beer calories with food calories and take the pills on a full stomach than take them with beer to 'cure' the nausea. If you are a beer afficionado, maybe work one into your calorie allotment. Also, even though you're a sedentary male, I'm…

I've read that stretching helps make leaner muscles, as well as lifting light weights. I also have a muscular physique (yeah for rugby legs on a girl!? :noway: ) so I feel your pain.
-
I say sedentary because they include light exercise in it, and just eat more when I exercise.
-
It depends on the day. If my self-esteem is high, I see myself as a curvy vixen. If its low, I'm a freaking fat, ugly whale-woman. I think appearance is only a perception, never reality. So I let myself off the hook most of the time.

Here's my problem with this study and the conclusion you are attempting to get from it: "Collectively, findings indicate both short- and long-term advantages to fast initial weight loss. Fast weight losers obtained greater weight reduction and long-term maintenance, and were not more susceptible to weight regain than…

As far as I know, its just a matter of fat loss through diet, not exercise. Although I'd try stretches, like yoga. Maybe pilates. Not strength training your abs (situps, etc).
-
Maybe it doesnt have to do with sodium intake. What are you doing for exercise? Also, maybe have your kidneys checked out.
-
I dont think so. It kept saying I'd lose 5 kilos in 5 weeks but I havent lost anything in 2 weeks and its still saying the same number, but I havent changed my exercise or eating patterns.

Are you pregnant?

Height/weight? What is your bmr? I was doing 1200 for a while and my weight loss stopped! So I calculated my bmr and its 1900, plus I exercise. So I changed my calorie goals and my weight loss has been jump started again. We'll see how it goes, but from my experience and what I've read on mfp and other forums, I think 1200…

The best thing for me to do was log everything I was eating, without trying to stop at the 'diet limit', just to see how much I was eating. Then reduce from there. So if I was eating a huge amount of pasta, I'd reduce that and maybe increase veg if thats really low. Also see other unhealthy areas to reduce like snacks (and…
