  • We use it in lasagna :) delicious and lower calorie than beef!
  • Don't buy the vivosmart until they fix the software. The heart rate monitor only works correctly if you're in "running" mode. If you're trying to monitor heart rate during any other activities it will just read 72. :(
  • My heart rate on mine never shows above 72 unless I'm in running mode. Not helpful for my circuit training. Garmin customer support said its a software issue they're aware of. Seems like they would have figured that out before they sold a ton of these over the holiday, of course I'm past my able-to-return date to best buy
  • I've done all my workouts at home- for the low bench/step I made one from some large books that I wrapped up in plastic and taped... And I bought a jump rope for $7 at TJ Maxx!
  • I only really freaked out because I had never experienced this before. I have lost 50 lbs, so this weight loss stuff isn't all that new to me, but this is the first I've ever done in terms of strength training. I'll definitely have to look into trendweight. I have a Bluetooth scale that syncs with my phone but I usually…
  • Exactly why I was so upset at first, I was thinking that it's not fair for that much gain because I didn't get to eat all the food that would cause that! Thanks everyone for the support. I'll keep on chugging, hoping everyone is right that it's water weight. :)
  • This is my 10th half marathon and I did my first full in 2014. I know that if I don't eat those calories, I have issues keeping my blood sugar up during my workouts. Thanks for the luck though, I'll need it! This is my first attempt at running multiple half marathons back to back. (I'll be doing 3 half marathons in 3…
  • I weigh myself at the same time, same condition each week. Thank you for the suggestion though! I sure hope so, any advice on how I might (in a healthy way) level it back out? And would water weight make my pants too tight? Lol
  • This is 100% my issue. I gained a TON of weight in college, and then lost it all in the two years following. I've struggled with my weight my whole life, but I really let myself go... Now I'm paying the consequences. 60 lb gone and in the "fitness" level for BMI and body fat, and I still can't wear a two-piece swimsuit. My…
  • MY LIFE. I am 2 lbs from my "ultimate" goal weight and I still look disgusting. I don't think I can say that I looked better before, but it is disheartening to have lost all this weight and STILL not be able to wear a two-piece swimsuit. So frustrating. Everything is so floppy and jiggly and just ew.
  • We use ground chicken to make our burgers and meatloaf now for the same reason! My fiance's new favorite meal is actually one of the burger recipes I've tried: Sriracha Ranch Chicken Burgers 1 lb ground chicken 1 packet Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix Sriracha sauce Low-fat or non-fat Ranch dressing Spinach Tomato…
  • I have lost all my weight through running. I carefully track both food and exercise and make sure that my net calorie intake is 1200-1500 cal.
  • Sometimes I find that in order to maintain sanity (especially when you're having a week like you are) is to forget about trying to lose weight and just focus on maintaining. It's not really "taking a week off" but it shouldn't add to your stress. Do some deep breathing and before you go to bed the next couple nights make a…
  • Is it really just MFP you're burned out with or is it your food/exercise routine? If you're comfortable with your food/exercise routine, and you're really just tired of logging everything, a break might not be a bad idea. If you've been doing this well for 200 days, you should have developed quite a few healthy habits. My…
  • While wedding dress shopping, the attendant made a comment about how small I was. Felt good, especially because I've battled my weight my whole life so the last time someone might have said something like that was probably when I was an infant. Some of the women at work jokingly tell me to stop losing weight or I'm going…
  • My wedding date is 6/20/15… my dress comes in this June and I ordered a size smaller so I've got work to do too! :)
  • I have the same issue after losing 50 lb with 10 more to go. I have found that doing LOTS of planks (normal, side, and belly up/hip-raise) have seemed to help tighten that area a bit. I also make sure I keep my belly well moisturized (I have been using a firming lotion by philosophy). You'll mostly have to be patient as…
  • I've had some good success recipe-hunting on Pinterest. I'll search for "Healthy xxxx" or "Skinny xxxx" where xxxx is things I know he likes. I've gotten good reviews for alot of the makeover recipes for common takeout foods like sesame chicken, Big Macs, and quesadillas. I try to stay away from alot of reduced-fat and…
  • I am a daily weigher, but a weekly recorder. I weigh every morning to keep motivated - if the scale goes down, I know what I'm doing is working, and if the scale goes up, it gives me something to think about. It has given me the ability to understand my natural weight fluctuations (like if I eat alot of sodium the night…
  • Kraft Mac and Cheese... if it is anywhere in my vicinity I feel the need to eat it. And by eat it I mean devour the whole box in under 5 minutes. Ugh! And pretty much any kind of cheesy/salty chip snack food (Cheetos and Cheez-its are the worst!) Tortilla chips with guacamole as well. Can eat a whole tub of guac without…
  • I had a good "power smoothie" today... 1 small banana, frozen 1 c frozen blueberries 1 c unsweetened almond milk (or 1/2 c nonfat greek yogurt, but don't freeze the banana then) 1 small handful spinach (or kale) 1 T flaxseed (I used whole but that's a personal preference) You might have to make this a bit smaller for a…
