so much this. go to a running store. if you are not properly fitted, you can SERIOUSLY hurt yourself. I started in New Balance and hated them. I went and got fitted and went with the Brooks. The right shoes really do make a world of difference!

It's good advice to get your metabolism tested. I lost 20 lbs on a 1200 calorie diet and then the body fat percentage on my scale crept back up. I went and had my RMR tested... 1498. Even after 9 months of a low calorie diet and LOTS of exercise (training for a half marathon). I'm still dealing with the backlash of it…

This is good advice. I have recently become quite fond of lightlife products! They're all non - GMO and vegan. Give those a try to help balance your protein intake.

I am in the same boat! I'm 5 ft 3 in and can see my ribs, but can't get that little pooch to go away! It's the most aggrivating thing ever! I'd love to hear any tips anyone has as well!

I am dealing with the same exact thing! I'm also a runner, and strength train as well. I was so worried when I started to gain again that I went and had a resting metabolic rate test done. And I was eating 1400 cals a day or so... which wound up being 100 calories under my RMR! it's weird, but the answer really is to eat…

Don't let them bother you! And don't worry about how much you run, or how much you walk, cause races are supposed to be fun! So just have fun!

What kind of shoes are you wearing? If you're having pain in your lower legs, that could be the start of shin splints.
