  • I'm assuming your husband also wants you to be healthy, correct? It doesn't sound like you're thinking about what your body needs. Like you see one way to achieve this perfect body, and that's by not feeding it and over-working it with cardio. Take a break, reevaluate what you want and need. If you are starting to have…
  • I'd say keep the legs moving, but don't push it. I was really sore after my kickball game last Sunday, but going for a run on Tuesday (when I was most sore) helped the pain, and it was gone by the time I was done with my run on Wednesday. At least get a walk in on the treadmill or outside. You don't gotta go nuts, just use…
  • Breakfast: Heafty overnight oats with peanut butter and dark chocolate ships, and half a 'nana. An almost 500 cal breafast, perfect for after my run, and to keep me satisfied until my late lunch!
  • I don't typically go out for breakfast, but I do solo lunch and dinner often enough! It's nice. You can pop in head phones or read a book. I'll do some homework too. And get a drink :)
  • The foods that are the hardest for me to control portion sizes are pizza, chips (CHEETOS!!), and beer. I love starchy and fried foods. I'm unable to buy chips because I will seriously go over board. Oh, and cheez-its. I could eat a whole box. If only these foods were lower in cals...or I had the ability to eat them…
  • Perhaps when entering the time, adjust the calories to equate to about 100 calories/mile. I've heard that's a pretty accurate and generalized amount to burn.
  • I'm going to agree with the mental thing, and I have a suggestion. One of my running routes is a perfectly straight shot. I run 1.5 miles away from my house, turn around, and run back. I hate that route and often feel fatigued fairly quickly. And it's definitely harder for me to tune everything else out. COMPARED TO…
  • How many people attain childhood obesity - by eating crap and sitting too much. Even as I played sports, I was a chubby. I was little until about 1st/2nd grade when I started to gain little bits of weight, and by 4th grade I was chubby, and that got worse in middle school. My kids will not sit around and eat junk!!
  • In the summer, I could basically workout whenever I wanted. Aside from my full-time job (10-6, M-F), all I had was free time since I don't have kids. I usually worked out for a good hour after work, then I had sports on Thursday nights and Sunday nights. Now that school has started, I've had to do some rearranging. I've…
  • I've had to take breaks because of being burned out. I thought I could handle it because of the education I got from tracking everything so long. But, since I'm still trying to lose, it didn't work out for me. I got lazy and started eating too much junk again. Once I went back to logging (diligently for a month now), I've…
  • Brownies and fried food have been on my mind for the past three days, ugh!!
  • 50lbs into my weight loss, and I was in the same boat as you. I was sick of the counting, and I missed eating whatever I wanted, as much as I wanted. Still worked out, so I didn't gain much back, about 10 lbs. Once the scale showed a 10 lb gain, I was remotivated to start logging again and taking it seriously. But really,…
  • "There have been times in the last 9 months (sometimes weeks at a time) where I've fallen of the wagon, but i always tell myself, as long as your good days outweigh your bad days, everything will work out." Great attitude! Keep it up, you look really great.
  • This sounds amazing! Not sure what I'll have yet. Perhaps some Trader Joe's chicken fried rice with a side of veggies. Something quick and easy, as always.
  • Oh, and Beer.
  • I. Love. Gyros. Also, large amounts of pasta, any kind of frickin' pizza, cheesy gordita crunches from Taco Bell, french fries, CHIPS, Cheetos, restaurant food in general (besides salads), BROWNIES. I don't care for candy at all, but frickin' fresh baked goods are amazing. MUFFINS!
  • No soda. I've cut my beer consumption wayyyy down. I try not to eat chips, pizza, and fried food because I go OVERBOARD. But I will indulge once in a while. Can't buy the stuff though, it'll be gone before I even get home!
  • Make smart choices. If you aren't so concerned with sodium content, etc, a large Wendy's chili is like 310 calories. Salads without cheese are valid options. Subway is easy to stay low-calorie. I know when I have the munchies, all I want to eat is freaking taco bell. Sometimes there is just no avoiding it, and then I…
  • Vodka soda-water is where it's at. Try a Citron or lemon-infused vodka. Another idea is adding Mio to your drink for a flavor change. You can bring it in your purse! If you're a beer lover, like I am, staying away from it can be hard. I try and limit my beer drinking to one night a week.
  • Definitely agree with this. Also, incorporate some exorcise. The pedometer is a great tool. Start slow, but make sure to pick up the pace gradually if possible. If you're going for fit, a healthy heart and lungs is always a good thing. I started my weight loss by changing my eating habits (I needed to do loooots of…
  • You look fantastic. And thanks for sharing your story! We experienced so many similar things on our paths to weight loss.
  • Hey! Good for you for takin' the plunge. I'm trying to get serious about my weight loss again. Plateaus suck. I'm a 23 year-old college student majoring in elementary education. I've never taken part in the social aspect of MFP, but figured why not? Imma add ya.
  • Hey, me too! Friends?
