I keep a stash of almonds in my desk at work. A handful is full of protein and great at keeping the hugner away a couple extra hours. Also, the special k protein meal bars are really good and filling and only 180 calories, which is high, but they last a long time!

Though you may burn additional calories, running in the sand can destroy your running form and lead to injuries. It is best if you do run on the beach that you try to stay down closer to the water where it is hard-packed, but still much softer than the road which makes it easier on your joints.
