Just popping in to say I'm so glad this thread is still around. It's been around for over 5 years now (5-1/2, I think) and was a huge help to me back when I was CoryIda and was losing weight starting in 2010. I don't know that I would have been as successful without this fantastic group of people and the support they…

I am 5'10" and was once 294 pounds. I got down to 155, but I was a little too thin. My original goal weight was 180 and that's okay, especially considering what my body has been through in the past year and a half (spinal cord injury and permanent nerve damage and a weak left leg, loss of range of motion in my foot and…

I was thinking the same thing.

Every man is different. Some will be mortally wounded by the mere thought of you without a full face of makeup, sky high heels, and a wardrobe full of pink, purple, lace, and satin. Some men want you to have burping contests with them, light their farts on fire, and scream so loud at peewee football that you lose your…

It's a habit. Someone should probably smack me upside the head with a bottle of Coke Zero. Yum.

There's a hugely popular book called "The Wheat Belly Diet." It cites tons of sources that claim that wheat (and other sources of gluten) is bad for you, toxic even. When I eat gluten, I have an awful reaction. I gain ten pounds of bloat overnight, I get sores in my mouth and on my skin, I get headaches and gas and my…

I spend very little time on MFP anymore and virtually none on the forums, but I just happened to click on the "community" tab just now and saw this. Robin, I am so glad you still have this group going and I had to pop in and let you know that it was so, so, so helpful to have this safe, motivating place to go when I first…

It is technically underweight, but close enough that it's probably not a huge deal as long as you have a healthy attitude toward properly fueling your body and taking care of your health. If you just want to get smaller though, you need to focus on the fitness side rather than the number on the scale.

Ladies: Although BMI is not intended to measure an individual's overall health, please at least use it as a baseline and try to achieve and maintain good health, not just a tiny number on the scale. Although there are some people who are healthy a little above or below a "normal" range, tmaking your long-term goal to be…

Are you under 5' tall? Please tell me you're under 5' tall. Seriously. Please.

I think everyone is afraid of that, and since I have gained about a fifth of my total loss back, I totally understand that concern. Still, when it comes down to it, if you are eating well and exercising regularly (as your body allows - you won't see me doing dead lifts no matter how much I might want to-it's not safe for…

I am getting married on Friday. I need this list.

This makes me happy. :)

I am so proud of you! You are awesome.

I think it would help if you gave us more of an idea of what you mean by "control issues" and "establishing boundaries." For instance, I am a control freak (I get reallllly upset when things are done in a way that I would not have done them), and Tim has problems establishing boundaries (like letting his ex wife talk to…

My son is bipolar and has some sensory processing issues. He has always been ultra sensitive. My stepson is a few months older than your kid and doesn't have any "issues" and mostly cries when he gets in trouble. So, in other words, I don't know if it's normal or not. I don't have a lot of tolerance for overreacting, but I…

At my thinnest, I was a 32H and I used to wear a normal underwire bra under a cheap sports bra that was at least two sizes too small. Yes, I got pancaked in, but that was the point. Compress them to the point that they didn't bounce more than I did. The only sagging that occurred was due to nursing a child, losing a crap…

Sarah is smart, and I am the same way with my sturdy German legs. My calves were 15.5" when I had around 20-ish% body fat (although I am much taller at 5'10") and I still had large thighs. I never felt confident in shorts, like they emphasized the size of my legs, but skirts and dresses were much more flattering. Also,…

Honestly, unless you WON the Boston Marathon, you shouldn't be congratulated. I mean, isn't that your goal? If not, your goals suck as much as your running does. (says the girl who can't run... at all)

I've kept off around 120 pounds for a couple of years now. At one point it was about 140 pounds, but maintenance is hard.

I have met several, including the man I am marrying in 2 1/2 months. :) I have a lot of crossover Facebook friends from here, too.

A perfect balance between sweet and pervy.

My fiance is a fan.

I know a gift is typically given to each bridesmaid and I am planning to make them necklaces, which can also be worn for the wedding.

I guess I should clear up that our finances are pretty limited and that we are planning only a brief (two hours or less) reception in the later evening, so it's not like we are cutting into a normal dinner time (hence the dessert reception, but I don't know if dessert receptions usually include savory as well as sweet).

The host drinks soda (a lot of the not-super-strict LDS do), but not coffee. About half, if I were to guess, of the guests are about the same, but the other half are a lot more strict.

Rewind about 5 years or so and there was this man. He was kind, smart, hardworking... and morbidly obese. In addition to exercising (several rounds of P90X and then he discovered heavy lifting), this guy also found MFP. About a year later and 850 miles away, there was this girl. She was smart, responsible, resilient... and…

9.5 Wide to 8-8.5. Three years after losing all the weight, they shrank even more. I am pretty much always an 8 now but can wear 7.5 in strappy or wide shoes. I am 5'10", so weight loss has essentially turned me into a Weeble.

Obviously this. I mean, it *is* where I met my future husband and love of my life (both of whom, fortunately, happen to be the same person - it doesn't always work this way on here).
