  • For free, take a look at Gabby Reece's 'train 360' program. She provides circuit workouts with demos that you can do at home. http://www.gabbyreece360.com/category/fitness-360/train-360-5/ If you want a DVD program you can do at home, I HIGHLY recommend ChaLean Extreme!
  • Epsom salt bath...it really helps.
  • Usually the first place where you add weight is going to be the last place you lose it. Sad, but true for my pear shaped self, too.
  • The key, IMO, is that you can't 'just' see it as something that must fit into a perfect 90 day package. Start up where you left off, get the workouts in each week that you can, and keep going until you're done, whether it takes you 90, 100 or 120 days. Your results might not be as solid as they could be if you were more…
  • I had never heard of it, but I was talking with my cousin about my weight one weekend and she told me to look up P90X on YouTube and then told me to hurry out and buy it. I looked it up, watched some videos, read some reviews. I was just ready... The kicker, though, that kept me pushing play every day was that when I…
  • You might try looking at Gabby Reece's 'circuits.' They're free at this site: http://www.gabbyreece360.com/category/fitness-360/workouts-fitness-360/ She lists the exercises, tells you what equipment you need and then demonstrates each of the moves. You then simply follow the circuit at your own pace and with your own…
  • In general, the first place where your body deposits fat is going to be the last place it finally comes off. The only thing you can truly do is cut your overall body fat percentage. If you're like me, you're going to lose it from the hips up first, and then you'll begin to lose it from the hips down. Nothing you can truly…
  • It's a very solid all around fitness program...it's more strength training focused, but also incorporates cardio and flexibility training. In my opinion, the hardest part for most people is the time aspect...it takes between 60-90 minutes every day. If you don't have the time to commit, try something else. I've done three…

  • For me, it was all about lifting weights 3 days/week and then doing cardio on the other three. Back fat gone.
  • From my own experience (as a 5'9" woman who has always been of a bigger frame), I always got quite scared whenever I strength trained because I thought I looked bulky and 'mannish.' Over the past two years, though, I have committed to strength training 3 days each week, and I'm lifting to fail. In the first 6-9 months,…
  • During Push Circuit, the heaviest weight month, I generally use between 15-30 pounds. I could go a lot heavier for lower body work (up to 40+s), but I'm saving for a set of adjustables, so I will make do. You truly want to lift heavy enough to FAIL at the desired rep (10-12 in months 1 and 3, 6-8 reps in month 2).
  • LOVE, LOVE, LOVE ChaLean Extreme...seriously, I think it's got women's more common 'trouble zones' in mind. My legs are total goo after today's Push circuit workout.
  • When I started my fitness 'transformation' I jumped in with P90X Lean, so I did two true days of strength training, one day of strength/core, two days of cardio and one day of yoga. In the past, I had always been cardio crazy, with very limited success. I found that, for me, to truly lose weight (and manage said weight…
  • Turbo Fire's Fire 60 class.
  • If you ordered through Beachbody, and it's been less than a year since you purchased, contact customerservice@teambeachbody.com or call their customer service number. You'd be surprised, sometimes, at what they're willing to do. That said, if you didn't order through Team Beachbody, you're pretty much SOL.
  • If you want a strength training workout, go with ChaLean Extreme.
  • Two words...TURBO FIRE!! Great music, great variety, great fun and a great workout!
  • When I did P90X doubles, I HAD to do one of my workouts before work. I leave the house for work at 6:15 a.m., so the alarm went off at 4:00 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for 2 months. It wasn't pleasant, but I found that I loved how I felt for the rest of the day after working out in the morning. Sadly, I found that…
  • Turbo Fire all the way...
  • I think it really depends on what you're looking for. For me, the biggest issue with P90X is time. It's a huge time commitment, 6 days every week. What I love about P90X is variety...I simply didn't get bored because you do something different every single day. Time is a plus with Jillian's workouts...they're tough and in…
  • Unfortunately, purchasing separate DVDs from the set isn't really an option. You either get the basic program or you can order the 'best of the HIIT's' which is a compilation of some of the drills from the HIIT workouts. That's pretty much your option. Honestly, there isn't a workout in the program that I dislike. The…
  • I appreciate Insanity for what it is...a kick a** cardio workout. What it lacks, and you already know this, is a solid strength training component. I felt like I lost quite a bit of upper body strength during my 60 days of Insanity. I didn't lose a ton of weight, but I was already in pretty good shape prior to starting…
  • Under...right underneath the band of your bra.
  • I can say, from personal experience, that lifting and trying to truly FAIL (and by fail, I mean I couldn't lift that dumbbell one more time) at 12 reps is what's doing it for me. I'm lifting 20-30 pound dumbbells (for upper body work--heavier for lower body) and am getting smaller and tighter. Yes, I have more distinct…
  • I think it's a HUGE accomplishment that you have improvement your health so much that you no longer need medication. HUGE accomplishment. Props to you for what you have accomplished so far and what I KNOW you'll accomplish in the future.
  • My advice is LISTEN to your body and be sure to fuel yourself properly. Right around the 60 day mark I started getting some tweaky spots and then I bonked in a few workouts. I needed more fuel and I needed a LOT more stretching. I ignored the tweaky spots and it turned into a muscle pull that required 10 days of rest. It…
  • For me it depends...anywhere from 300 calories on strength days up to 600+ on Plyo days.
  • My biggest worry when running with my dog is that one of the stray (and aggressive) dogs in the area are going to run into us at the wrong time. : (
  • I lost 20 pounds in my first round, 7 in my 2nd and another 5 in my 3rd. That said, in lieu of losing weight, I lowered my body fat considerably and became much smaller. So, while I shed the most weight in the first 90 days, I lost many pants sizes, but the scale didn't move so much, in the next 6 months.
  • At least do the first 45 minutes...honestly, that's the most important part of YogaX. Also, yoga really does help prevent injuries...ask me how I know!
