  • I'm in the midst of the Turbo Fire/ChaLean Extreme hybrid (I'll be finishing week 10 and starting week 11 of the 20 week schedule). My week looks like this: Monday: Turbo Fire's Fire 45 and Abs 10 workouts + 40 minute dog walk Tuesday: Rest day from workouts--60 minute leisurely dog walk Wed: Turbo Fire's Tone 30 and HIIT…
  • It's definitely a challenging program and the only real way to modify it is to stop and take mini-breaks (which is what I did and what every single person in the workouts do). It's most definitely not a workout for beginners. I had planned to start it when it released last July, but I was frightened to death that I wasn't…
  • Just finished Sculpt 30 followed by HIIT 25. The HIIT 25 workout is CRAZY! It shreds the abs just with all the squat and tuck jumps. I'm still sweating buckets 20 minutes later.
  • I always repeat the same thing. What confuses people, IMO, is that a pound of muscle is more dense than a pound of fat, thus a pound of muscle takes up less space in your body that a pound of fat. So, if you are, in fact, increasing lean muscle mass, you may very well weigh exactly the same in lbs/kgs. on the scale, but…
  • I have had a 'bum knee' for about 10 years...some small miniscal tears that aren't bad enough for surgery. I actually feel better now that I workout every day. The key, IMO, is to really make sure you're doing the moves properly. When I do the punches, I HAVE to make sure that I actually pick my feet up off the carpet…
  • Fire 55 EZ today. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that first finale on that one (with the Capoeira (spelling?)).
  • Fire 55 EZ today. I am SO in love with the first finale!
  • The CLX/TF hybrid is actually included in the materials that come with Turbo Fire.
  • If you already have a solid resistance training in place at the gym, I would go with Turbo Fire over Insanity. I did my 60 days of Insanity back in January and February of this year. I did get into great cardiovascular shape, but I found the program to really focus on my lower body and core and I actually lost upper body…
  • Love mine...REALLY made me aware of how many calories I actually burn each day (which was a LOT more than I thought!! I thought I was burning 2300/day. In reality, it's closer to 2800 which really changes the nutrition aspect). Also, when I want to dog it, I look at the wrist display which tells me my current calorie burn…
  • I'll 2nd what Superdave said above...the One on One workouts really are quite good. I did 3 rounds of P90X (well, 2 rounds of P90X and a round of P90X+) and then did Insanity. While my cardiovascular fitness was killer, I found that I really lose quite a bit of strength in the 60 days of just doing Insanity. I'll never do…
  • Had Tone 30 class for the first time in my rotation (I'm in week 9 of the 20 week hybrid). I used the burgundy resistance band and I haven't been this sore since I first started working out last year. OUCH! (but in a good way!)
  • I've gained as much as 6 lbs. during my period...it's usually 3-4. Gone 2 days after my period actually stops. I also tend to crave salty things during my period which clearly doesn't help matters either.
  • I get my greek yogurt at Kroger's. Sometimes I buy Fage, sometimes Brown Cow, most recently the Dannon because it was on sale. I find it's 'heavier' texture sticks with me longer and cuts down on cravings. I also use it as a topper for baked potatoes, mixed with other items as a type of dipping sauce for fish and seafood,…
  • Danskin, which I have found at Wal-mart, does have some nice sleeveless, looser fitting v-neck workout shirts in a tech type fabric similar to these: http://www.danskin.com/womens/active/sleeveless Best of luck to your wife. I'm a teacher, too, and always struggle at the beginning of the year to rebalance my school life,…
  • That'd pretty much be me...I'm right at 172 and 5'9". That said, I tend to carry a lot of my weight in my thighs and hips which are covered by the fitness skort in my profile.
  • Tom Venuto's "The Body Fat Solution: 5 principles for burning fat, building lean muscle, ending emotional eating and maintaining your perfect weight" and Tosca Reno's "The Eat Clean Diet Recharged."
  • I have a friend, and fellow Beachbody Coach, who has been doing Turbo Jam (with modifications and her doctor's blessing) throughout her pregnancy. In fact, she's to full term, expecting the baby any day, and did Turbo Fire this morning.
  • My day 1 (eek), day 90 and day 250ish pics are on my coach website (below).
  • Fire 55 EZ...600+ calories gone. Nutrition hasn't been up to par today...not necessarily bad food choices, just a lot of food so far today. I really think, though, that I've been at a deficit for too many days (I did run out of gas yesterday), so eating to my actual calorie burn today may not be bad thing.
  • Push 3 today...nothing lighter than 25 lbs. used...it's crazy how strong (and how lean) I'm getting in the hybrid.
  • My dogs are part of my fitness routine...they get walked 7 days/week...all 3 of them get their own walk time, so 3 separate walks of 20-25 minutes each which means in addition to my 45 minute workout, I'm getting a 60-75 minute walk each day as well (and the dog walk generally burns 425-500 calories)
  • Tonight was Fire 45...I will now be singing "Boom I got your Boyfriend, I got your man" all night long, even though I'm a married woman. : P
  • While my husband isn't on his butt all day (he's a professional caddie, so he does get some walking miles in every day), he smokes and eats like total garbage! I seriously believe he survives on Little Debbie Swiss Cake Rolls, Coca Cola, McDonald's and Burger King, and he'll eat a huge pasta type meal (that I cook for him)…
  • I think you're learning something very valuable here, though...the 'magic number' on the scale is not the end all be all to being a fit and healthy person. In fact, I think, sometimes, that the number on the scale sabotages entirely too many people because it's not as low as they want. My 'epiphany' came earlier this…
  • I started my fitness journey on April 4th, 2009. Since then, I've become a 3 time P90X 'grad' (I've done Lean, Doubles, and X+), an Insanity grad (then had to take 2 months off due to a rib injury that would put me to the floor anytime I contracted my abs--tore an intercostal ligament), a ChaLean Extreme grad, and I'm…
  • Kylie, I would take a look at the 20 week ChaLean Extreme/Turbo Fire hybrid schedule, and see if you could tweak it to do yoga on your Saturday and make Sunday your rest day. You'll probably have to shuffle things around, but I'm sure it's doable. Otherwise, do the CLX circuits on MWF (Burn 1 Monday, Burn 2 Wed., Burn 3…
  • This winter, I FINALLY got to the point where I weighed less than my husband. He's 6'4" and struggles to get above 180...I'm 5'9" and struggling to get below 170. There's certainly power in numbers!!! Here's to weighing less than our significant others! : )
  • As an English teacher, it drives me INSANE when Tony says to keep your abdominals "Taunt." I want to yell, "It's TAUT, TAUT, TAUT, TAUT, TAUT, NOT TAUNT!"
  • Yes, I am. Glad you got everything you needed. I'm doing the ChaLean Extreme/Turbo Fire hybrid, and I LOVE it. Don't let the EZ titles fool you...they're BRUTAL!! : P
