Isn't it interesting how everyone has a tendency to 'jump on a bandwagon' and then start shouting at bystanders from his or her perch? I think your success shows that the program you're working is working just fine for you. I'd simply choose to ignore... And regarding the 1200 thing...it always amazes me, even on here, how…

The more active you are outside of fitness, the more you get to eat! I walked my dogs for 75 minutes today, did a 45 minute Turbo Fire workout, went to the mall, ran the vacuum, did the grocery shopping, and have already eaten 2000 calories, but according to my Bodybugg, my calorie expenditure is 3200. I can eat MORE! And…

The Insanity meal plan is based on the following principles: 1. Determine your caloric needs and then adjust for a deficit if you goal is to lose weight 2. Eat 5 meals/day 3. Try to keep a 20% fat/40% protein/40% carb ration at eat meal 4. Eat clean (ditch the processed stuff and eat whole foods)--avoid additives, sugar…

The person in question has to be willing. If you continue to push, they will see you as being 'nagging' and will completely shut you out. I've been working on my fitness for the past 16 months. I've lost 30+ pounds, I workout 6 days/week, walk the dogs 7 days/week, and eat clean. My husband, who is not overweight like I…

I literally just picked myself up on the floor and think I also may have strained an abdominal muscle from laughing so hard! THAT is priceless!

I eat 5-6 times a day and I'm a middle school teacher. I generally: 5:30--breakfast 9:05--snack (during the 4 minutes class change I eat a homemade protein bar) 10:45--lunch (lucky me, I get the early lunch time) I have planning at the end of the day (1:10-2:40), and I generally have some string cheese or something smaller…

Of all the home fitness programs I've done (P90X, ChaLean Extreme, Insanity), I found the Insanity meal plan to be the most user friendly. Eat 5 times/day, combine a complex carb with a protein, and stay within your caloric intake.

Our Kroger store carries them, and they're in the 'health food' section's freezer aisle. They're not in the main freezer section of the store.

Well...I tried to post mine, but they were HUGE pictures and only half of the actual picture showed up. : ( I'm on Facebook, though, and have the last 16 months of my journey on there. Message me if you'd like to become FB friends. : )

P90X...did it 3 times...got incredible results.

Boom! I got your boyfriend, I got your man! LOVE Fire 45 class. 573 calories scorched. I'm on Fiyah!! LOL

I'm finishing up week 3 of the Turbo Fire/ChaLean Extreme hybrid which is 20 weeks. I'm LOVING it. Did Fire 45 class today...BOOM! I got your boyfriend, I got your man! LOL

I do believe you can also get them from Collage video...they sell exercise DVDs.

I stayed away from ChaLean Extreme for a really long time because for some stupid reason, I thought it was going to be 'too easy' after 3 rounds of P90X and then Insanity. WRONG! I absolutely LOVE it. I love that she works two body parts in one move, I love that the workouts are 45 minutes long, and I love that I was…

I did a round of Insanity in January, after 3 rounds of P90X, and about died every day. I truly did get into great shape, but one thing I missed was strength training. Also...I absolutely HATED the warm-up. IMO, the warm-up itself is as hard as PlyoX!!! I'm currently doing a ChaLean Extreme/Turbo Fire 20-week hybrid and am…

I feel your pain...I try to eat as cleanly as I can, and have totally revamped my own eating habits over the past 16 months. My husband, though, is another story. He's 6'4", 185 lbs., never hungry, and when he eats, it's total CRAP. He literally survives on Little Debbie Swiss Cake Rolls, Coca Cola (about 8 cans/day),…

IMO, eating a serving of cheese, while high in fat, will not sabotage weight loss. The entire cheese block...perhaps.

Keep in mind one thing...The Bodybugg is accurate within 10%. I always keep that in mind when looking at my deficit. I burn around 2700 calories/day...if the 'bug' is off by 10%, that's a drop of 270 calories that will affect my deficit. Multiply that by 7, and that's 1,890 calories/week, which is about 1/2 lb. Also, if…

At least do the first 45 minutes. In the beginning, everybody hates yoga (well, almost everybody), but it's going to help you develop your strength even more and increase your flexibility to prevent injury. If you are absolutely dead set against doing it, at least try Tony's One-on-One workout...Fountain of Youth Yoga (40…

Just curious...why are you only eating 1200 calories/day? The reason I ask...it's quite possible that your calorie deficit is simply too large, and your body is holding onto every nutrient it can because it feels as though you're not fueling it enough for the work you're asking it to do. In addition...you say you gained 4…

From my own personal experience, I have found that I can do cardio workouts out the wazoo and not lose weight, but as soon as I start lifting weights 3 days/week and doing cardio the other 3, it drops. I'm sure other people have had great results with Insanity as a weight loss tool, and while it got me into INCREDIBLE…

The difference is because P90X is a strength training program with some cardio throw in and Insanity is a cardio program. Muscle burns fat. Period. Insanity is a harder program with regards to cardiovascular output. It is not a harder program with regards to developing lean muscle mass.

I think the 600 number in the P90X guide is a bit distorted for most people. I did 3 rounds, and was in serious shape, and got similar numbers to yours. PlyoX would get me 575-650 (and my HR was 85-90% max throughout) KenpoX--500ish Strength training 275 + another 100 for ab ripper The key is to keep in mind that with…

I started my first round of P90X on April 3rd, 2009. I could not do one push-up. Seriously, I couldn't even lower to the bottom of a push up on my toes. So, I did them on my knees. I tried every night before going to bed to do one on my toes. I finally succeeded in week #6 of that round of P90X. From then on, I made myself…

I'm going to call this a success. I ended up using: 16 oz. cauliflower--steamed then mashed/food processed 3 oz. asiago cheese 1 egg italian herbs/black pepper Mix those together, plop on a pizza sheet (spray with olive oil spray first), and pat into a pizza shape about 1" thick Bake at 450 for 15-20 minutes--until the…

The 'crust' is currently in the oven...it smells WONDERFUL! First time pizza contains more protein than carbs! (Yeah, I know...there's a lot of fat in the cheese...but still).

I've seen some pretty crazy readings on FB of people doing programs such as Insanity/Turbo Fire saying they burned 1000+ calories in 50 minutes. Honesly, I don't think it's possible....and their HRMs may be set improperly. In general, I find that a 100 calorie/10 minute burn is quite good. I'm fortunate that my Polar F4…
