I would take your calorie burns with heart rate monitors as a 'general' number. I've found that HRMs, even really expensive ones, can be quite misleading with what you're really burning during workouts. As a rule of thumb, I find that I have to be almost dying, heaving breath (almost unable to catch it), heart ready to…

I just started my last week of Lean Circuit today (but added HiiT 15 onto the end of my strength workout). I'll finish up Saturday, rest on Sunday, do a week of the Inferno Plan, then am planning on starting the entire 20 week CLX/TF hybrid rotation on Saturday, July 10th.

Do you strength train? I found that I could cardio myself to death, and the weight didn't budge, but when I incorporated 3 days/week of serious strength training (I do workout at home, but still lift serious weights) plateaus were busted.

Have you thought about spreading your calories more evenly throughout the day? I eat 5-6 times/day, generally between 250-400 calories at each 'meal,' allowing myself 1900 calories on the day (because I'm generally burning 2600 according to my Bodybugg). I find that eating small, frequent meals prevents those cravings,…

I had pizza last night, too, AND brownies! That said, I was still within my calorie goals and was at an 800 calorie deficit on the day. The key is in the planning and your choice of pizza. I allow myself one 'cheat meal' each week. I don't go and eat 2000 calories, but I allow myself to indulge in something I won't eat any…

I don't know if my blog would be 'serious' enough for you, but I've gotten good feedback from it. http://personalsweatequity.blogspot.com

First off, I'm not a doctor, so please keep that in mind. You may want to talk with the doctor first prior to resuming exercise. That said, after reconstructive ACL surgery (anterior cruciate ligament in my left knee), I was on the incumbent bike the very next day, working to keep the knee joint flexible. Granted, it…

I ordered mine the day it released, and it's currently sitting in the UPS 'depot' by my parent's house waiting to be delivered on Monday. I'm traveling home to visit my parents, so it'll be waiting for me when I get there on Tuesday! I'm just finishing up a round of Chalean Extreme (already did 3 rounds of P90X and a round…

I walk my dogs for 4+ miles/day and went to a local running store to get fitted for these shoes. I'm an overpronator and wear my shoes REALLY oddly. I'm currently in Asics GT 2150s (LOVE them) and wear the green Superfeet insoles. I have a separate pair of shoes that I wear for workouts because runners don't provide the…

ChaLean Extreme!! It has it ALL! The 3 days/week of strength training are going to boost your metabolism and the cardio days are ROCKIN'! As always, Chalene is awesome. You might also consider TurboFire which was just released.

When you strength train, you are creating small tears in the muscle fibers. Your body then sends out SOS signals to repair the damage. Your body then retains some water to help with the repair, thus you may find your body weight fluctuates for a day or two after strength training (especially if you're lifting heavy). I'm…

OCEAN!!! 100 degree humid days OR below zero freezing wind chill days?

For me, dinner will be: chicken breast tenderloins grilled with seasoning quinoa sauteed vidalia onions, green peppers and mushrooms Throw the chicken and veggies on top of the quinoa and voila, dinner is served.

Powerwalked with my 3 dogs earlier today (3 1/2 miles), but just finished up ChaLean Extreme's Fat Burn Challenge and then did Cathe's HiiT 30/30. I was planning on yoga class tonight, but my legs are pretty shot. I think I'll just chillax for the rest of the afternoon and evening.

You might also try zigzagging your calories. I stay at a 500-700 calorie deficit for about 4 days, but then on day 5 I eat to maintenance (which is a LOT of food to eat), then go back to my deficit for the next 4-5 days. I've also done zig-zagging with carbs as well...where I'll limit my carb intake (not I said limit, not…

I think that the best thing about Turbo Fire is that Chalene has created hybrids utilizing ChaLean Extreme for strength training 3 days/week, and Turbo Fire for your Cardio. That's my plan!

I'm in month #3 of ChaLean Extreme and am really pleased with my results so far. I've already completed 3 rounds of P90X and a round of Insanity, so I was a little afraid that CLX would be too 'easy' after all that....WRONG! If you push yourself, lift as heavy as you can within the reps given, you WILL get results.

I did my first round of P90X starting last April...when I bought it, my husband blasted me out for 'wasting all that money.' I pushed play, followed the nutrition guide, and got FANTASTIC results. I took a week off, and started up a round of P90X doubles over the summer...leaned out even more, started dropping pant's sizes…

I found a product called PB2. Contains 52 calories per serving and, I believe, 4-5 g. of fat. What they do is squeeze the peanuts until most of the oil is removed...what's left is a peanut butter powder. You then mix it with water if you want a creamier version. It's not as 'good' as regular, full fat, high calorie peanut…
