  • I'm doing the Warrior Dash in GA in May. If I love it, I may sign up for the Ohio dash in June and make it a point to visit my parents.
  • Anything by Chalene Johnson (Turbo Fire, ChaLean Extreme, Turbo Jam) or Cathe Freidrich. Both are incredible!
  • I've done 3 rounds of P90X and 2 rounds of ChaLean Extreme. I think they're both sound programs that will get great results. I started with P90X (did my 3 rounds), then did Insanity (got hurt on day 60), had to rest for 8 weeks, then did CLX. Personally, I prefer ChaLean Extreme mainly because I think the program has…
  • If I'm working hard, I generally burn right around 100 calories every 10 minutes. This is after warm-up and cool-down...I burn about half that during those two portions.
  • I believe all the Fire workouts have the new to class options...in the HIIT workouts, she previews the drill before doing it (though I'm always forgetting what to do next on the first HIIT). The thing about TF is that most of the moves are fairly basic. One you remember her terminology, you'll better understand her cuing.
  • I wore mine for 6 months and it provided me with invaluable information with regards to how many calories I really expend just living and how to better eat to fuel my body while still maintaining a 500 calorie deficit. It really opened my eyes...I was trying to eat 1600 calories/day, but after a week of wearing it,…
  • The Brazil Butt Lift workout from Beachbody...it'll get you the butt you want!
  • You can use resistance bands for all of the ChaLean Extreme and Turbo Fire strength workouts.
  • gear up for round #2, do a hybrid, etc. Need to stay consistent with regular resistance training...just doing a random DVD here and there isn't enough.
  • As a doggy mom of 3 multi-cultural canine Americans, as well as an adoption counselor at a local 'no-kill' shelter, PLEASE check out dogs that are available at your local shelter. Also, don't just 'meet' them in their kennels. Have the shelter people get them out of their kennel, take them outside if possible, and get to…

  • I want the SelecTech adjustable dumbbells, and every now and then you'll find them available (through their site) for a special rate...I think they were available for $219 or something a few weeks ago. However, I've heard a lot of people say that the SelecTech's are too long for some of the moves in P90X and limit your…
  • The only day that really has any jump training/plyometrics in it that could be noisy for your downstairs neighbor is Plyometrics day. Otherwise, crush play!
  • I rode event horses for 20 years (through the preliminary 3-day level) but have been on horsey sabbatical for over a year. Nothing better to get your core in shape, though!
  • even better, I drink mine black. Just got a 5lb. bag of Columbian Medellin Supremo in the mail today! We'll be good for months!
  • The hanging electrical wires in the Tough Mudder scare the snot out of me! I am, however, considering a few Warrior Dashes this spring/summer...much less intense than a Tough Mudder, but still fun (sans electrocution)
  • The first place you put it on will always be the last place you take it off. I've had big hips and thighs since 11th grade...I'm now 39. I guess I still have about 22 years worth of fat to destroy!
  • This might be too much information, so here's your warning...it involves dogs and anal gland squeezing. Young pupster, James, had to go to the vet on Monday for his annual physical and vaccinations. He's been licking his bottom for a week or so, so I figured his anal glands were full and needed to be expressed. I usually…
  • I'll be walking the dogs for an hour and then doing the Turbo Fire Fire 60 class.
  • I've done all three (3 rounds of P90X, 1 round of Insanity, 1 round of ChaLean Extreme and then a 20-week round of the ChaLean Extreme/Turbo Fire hybrid), though I have to say that I actually look forward to and enjoy ChaLean Extreme the most. I find P90X and ChaLean Extreme to be similar in nature. They both incorporate 3…
  • Go to a reputable running store (i.e. Fleet Feet) and get fitted. I get a new pair of runners every 6 months and all have been fantastic.
  • I actually have one and use it quite often to supplement other workouts, though it's not my main workout. If I want a 'cheat snack' in the evening, I skip for 10 minutes first. It's a good tradeoff for me. I don't rely on the 'calories burn' mechanism built into the JumpSnap as I find it overestimates, but according to my…
  • My doctor told me this...try it for 30 days, and if it helps, keep taking it. If it doesn't, you're wasting your money. I did, and it helped tremendously. That said, so did losing 30 pounds and building muscle around my bum knee. My senior dog takes it as well...when he's off the glucosamine/chondroiton, he's gimpy and has…
  • I've said it before and I'll say it again...running shoes are NOT designed for in-home cardio programs like Insanity. With Insanity, there are a lot of moves that require lateral stability and landing on your ball of your foot. A running shoe is designed to support the motion of running...landing on the heel and then…
  • I was quite overweight when I started my first round of P90X. In addition, my exercise wasn't very consistent and my nutrition was horrible. So, I started seeing weight loss on the scale almost immediately. I think I lost 10 or 12 pounds in the first month alone. I ended up losing 20 pounds in the first 90 day round, and…
  • After YEARS of trying to lose weight by killing myself with Cardio, I was ready to just give it all up and be fat for the rest of my life. My cousin told me about P90X...I thought there was no way I could do it, but I bought it anyhow. My husband said I had just wasted $130, but I decided to give it a try. I followed the…
  • I have a cheat meal once each week...I'll be having mine on Thanksgiving this week, and will do some extra cardio in the morning to make up for it. It's one day...as long as your Thanksgiving meal doesn't last the rest of November and all of December, you need to indulge every now and then.
  • I did a 60-day round last January and February, and I won't do another full round again. It's just WAY too much stress on my left knee. I throw one of the workouts in here and there, and I think it would make a good hybrid with P90X or ChaLean Extreme which would cut down on the impact of the jumps 6 days/week. You might…
  • Here's the nice thing about P90X...NOBODY said it had to be done in 90 days straight. While your schedule won't make it any easier, it'll still be very doable...you simply can pick up where you left off in the schedule when you return home from your boyfriend's house. Your results may not be as quick as someone who pushes…
  • I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you really need to look at your body type first. I'm a 'pear,' meaning that I'm simply bigger on the bottom than I am on the top. My hips and thighs have always been bigger than the rest of me...simple as that. While I have been able to slim them down over time, they generally have…
  • One thing that people tend to forget when they're in weight loss mode is that you still need to be sure to fuel your body. You don't say how active you are outside of P90X, but I'm right around the same weight as you (though I'm a woman) and I burn, on average, around 2700 calories/day (I wear a Bodybugg which I feel is…
