Most of us do net carbs.....carbs-fiber for our actual final counts of the day. I try to keep my percentages in a personal range of: Fats:70% Proteins: 25% Carbohydrates: 5% You can set up your MFP to reflect those or your own personal percentages by doing a custom set-up.

Our bodies are wonderful machines. Our dietary fat intake is used to force your body to burn body fat through chemistry in the bile ducts and liver (converting it to ketones for energy). Once our body fat is depleted it then uses dietary fat which is now converted to ketones for energy usage. It is all about good…

but, that said, drink water. All day drink water. If you start to feel bloated it is because you need more water! Because a low carb lifestyle is a natural diuretic. you will become dehydrated very quickly! Drink water! Drink half your body weight in ounces a day!

I am diabetic and it is the only way that keeps my blood sugars in the healthy range. I am also very sensitive to sugars and starches. They keep me fat, inflamed (joint pain), give me bladder problems and insomnia. When I control what kind of carbs I eat (veggies and dairy) I don't have those problems.

Calcium/zinc/mag tablets with a chaser of potassium. Drink loads of water, most cramps are caused by dehydration!

No, it is not alright. Now go into your kitchen and cook some meat with a side of bacon and throw the damn Coconut bars away. lol

Atkins requires that you stick with your plan. If you keep going off and on the plan you are setting yourself up for great disappointment. When you carb load after being on Atkins for a while (depleting your glycogen stores) and then carb load your body goes into glycogen storage mode and you start to gain water weight and…

If you keep your ratios at: 70% fats, 25% proteins and 5 % carbohydrates your calories will take care of themselves.

I found that I never mention Atkins. I just say that I have eliminated all starchy, processed, sugary foods from my diet, per my doctor's orders. Nuff said.

Eat to your hunger. If that means you are craving some fruit, eat it. The idea is to make sure that your diet is about: 70% healthy fats, 25% healthy proteins and about 5% carbohydrates. If you try to eat those ratios your body will make the adjustments it needs to reach good health and fitness. Oh, and get out of the…

You don't need extra fiber. You need protein and fats. Eat what you want to eat to satisfy your hunger among the allowed veggies and fruits and deduct the fiber from your carbs to determine your NET carbs, but do not obsess about them.

I hope you have found the longer you eat low carb and keep your fat intake up the less hungry you become and you will naturally eat less or have a desire to eat as much. Eat to hunger. If you are hungry, eat something fatty and tasty! If you aren't hungry wait until you are!

I finally found a store that sells Quest Bars! I love them! I have tried a few flavors, Chocolate Brownie, Cinnamon Roll, Coconut Cashew and one other that excapes me... Once you get used to the texture they are great as a grab and go snack. Very little artificial sweeteners, loads of fiber, and healthy proteins. Who else…

Before you have the surgery, start having some coconut oil daily. You could avoid the surgery completely.

The best peanut butter cookies I have ever made were simply, peanut butter, eggs and sweeteners. Simple and terrific!

Explain the carb cycling, please. If you mean carb loading and then fasting from carbs you are setting yourself up for a big disappointment.

Yes, I have been off and on induction a dozen times. You would think that the benefits of reduced inflammation, arthritis, and sleep apnea, I would stay on plan, but I am a true addict. I can't have one bite without falling headlong into the junk food of my past. I always lose quickly the first week and then settle into a…

It is not the lack of calories that you should worry about, it is the lack of fuel for your body to function well! You need protein and fats for you brain to work properly! Since you are eating low carbs (your old fuel source) you need fats and protein to create fuel for your body to move and your brain to not be in a fog.…

Keep in mind that no one is perfect. WE all mess up but we are not failures until we quit working our program and go back to eating crap. It is three steps forward and one step back most days, but the journey is moving forward. The longer you are on plan the less trips in reverse and you will one day put a piece of candy…

I think the difference from the first induction to now, is the introduction of so many low carb "frankenfoods" and fake junk foods! Don't eat anything that looks like candy, cake, ice cream, etc. Sticking to fresh meats, veggies and great amounts of good fats is the way to kick start your weight loss. I, personally can't…

I made a batch of Cheesy Cauliflower Mash yesterday and I poured the Chicken Pot Pie over the top of about 1 cup of the mash. OM Gravy! It was awesome! I plan to go to the store to buy more fresh cauli!

I am a seasoned Atkins way of lifer. Friend me and check out my diary. I have an open diary.

I read the post where you said you have an eating disorder. That says volumes about why you are obsessive about what everyone else is eating. You need to give yourself a break along with the rest of us who are all on different journeys to fitness and health. Some will make it to goal the first time they try, others of us…

The ones I purchased are between 4-7 net carbs. They are heavy on the veggies so that is why, but I am happy that they have them!

I bought one of each of the new Atkins frozen meals at my local Walmart. I ate my first one today for lunch, the Crustless Chicken Pot Pie. It was creamy, tasty and chockful of veggies! I can't wait to try the others! I am not easily impressed. These are not "frankenfoods". It was made from real food. Bravo, ATKINS!
