  • It depends. If you're losing we'll and feel full and satisfied, don't stress about the calories. If you start to plateau, then considering your calorie intake over the past few days/weeks is a good resource. I find that having the freedom to eat satisfying, tasty foods over-rides my obsession with calorie intake.
  • I have a recipe for Flax meal Foccacia bread. I keep it in a container in my frig. It is my bread go to!
  • You need to do a 1:1 ratio, so 1/8 cup of flax meal to 1/8 cup of almond meal. It makes it more "cake-like".
  • Make sure that the grains are at least "broken" or the flax seeds will just travel through your gut and come out the same way they went in!
  • Which is why I have Louana and the EVCO in my pantry. I need them both! lol
  • I have found that Walmart has the cheapest and best brand of CO. It is Luanna brand. It is flavorless. It is great for cooking and baking. I use the "flavorful" EVCO for my coffee because I DO love the flavor of coconut!
  • I do a modified Atkins... and this is what my Macros seem to rest at as long as I keep my carbs at 5% my proteins seem to stay at about 20% and my fats come in at 70%!

  • LaJauna's Shepherd's Pie- serves 4-6 1 lb ground beef, browned with one chopped onion 1/2 cup of tomato sauce 1/2 cup of beef broth 1 can of cut green beans, drained Simmer all the above until bubbly and hot. Pour into a 8x8 baking dish. I had left over cauliflower puree about 2 cups worth. I added 1 1/2 cup of grated…
  • It is a natural anti-inflamatory. I started using it just in my morning coffee. My joint pain stopped. I<3coconut oil.
  • Cocoa butter is nasty. That is why. ;)
  • I bring mine in a zip lock baggie and no one ever says a word!
  • Need some bread for a sammy? Here is what I found that fills the bill for me! FOCACCIA STYLE FLAX-ALMOND BREAD 1 cup of flax seed meal 1cup of almond flour 1 tblsp of baking powder 1 tsp salt 1-2 tblsp Splenda 5 beaten eggs 1/2 cup water 1/3 cup of vegetable oil or coconut oil Grease a jelly roll pan that you have lined…
  • Today I feasted on Pork Rind flour french toast! It is so good! I buttered and used sugar free syrup. Very filling! PORK RIND FLOUR FRENCH TOAST SERVES 2 Run 1/2 bag of pork rinds through your food processor to make fine crumbs. Add 2 eggs to the food processor 1tblsp cream, 1 tblsp water 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tblsp splenda Mix…
  • http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/coney_island_chilidog_pie.html I am making this tomorrow night! I love chili dogs and this always cures what ails me! Enjoy!
  • You can always bring your own low carb tortillas. Tell the server you have a food allergy!
  • You can also raise your blood sugar with protein. Eating a boiled egg or some cheese can do the trick. Also if you must do sugar get the glucose disks ( made for low BS). They keep your mind on the fact that it is "medicine" and not "candy". If you give yourself permission to eat foods that "trigger" you, you might have…
  • Every meal can be a "do over". Just start with the next fork, spoonful. There are just going to be days like this. Give yourself a do over!
  • I am an Atkins/intermittent dieter! Friend me! I am an open book!
  • Coconut oil is an exception to this rule. It will very rarely go rancid because it doesn't allow bacteria to grow! It is fine sitting out on the counter.
  • Find Luanna brand of coconut oil. It has no coconut flavor and is great to fry/cook with.
  • Deep Dish Quiche Pizza Serves 8 Crust: 4 oz cream cheese 4 eggs 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese 1/3 cup cream 1 tsp Italian spices 2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded Beat together cream cheese and eggs until smooth. • Great documentation of your journey! Well done! You not only look skinny but you took years off of your life!
  • If you are a gym member see if they have any water classes. They are wonderful and you burn more calories and fat then you think! It is also really good for anyone with bad joints!
  • Untrue. If you are following the doctor's recommendations as a diabetic (my hubby is one), you will keep your carbs (healthy, plant based ones) under 100g a day. That is low compared to most SAD dieters. My husband's doctor always wants to know if he is keeping his carbs controlled. So, I am assuming that his doctor knows…
  • Atkins died of a heart attack (all meat and no veggies makes for sad organs), and even this article points out that this sort of diet should be short-term rather than a lifestyle. If you want a lifestyle try paleo or primal, you can forever refuse breads and processed grains, but you'll get healthy carbs from fruits and…
  • Do you have a Super Walmart? Look for Louanna brand. It is the cheapest!
  • I add 1 tblsp of coconut oil to my morning coffee.
  • I couldn't agree with you more. The problem is most people who are obese have a broken metabolism from eating those garbage filled meals for so long. The solution for many is low carb eating. It corrects the broken metabolism for many.
  • Just because you choose to eat low calorie compared to low carb doesn't make him a quack. There are millions of good studies over the past 30 years that tell us that eating lower carb keeps you healthier and less likely to get the diseases associated with being fat. If it helps people why are you such a hater?
