There definitely are healthy and unhealthy ways to eat keto, just like there are healthy and unhealthy ways to be vegan/plant based. Actually, there are healthy and unhealthy ways to eat every type of diet out there.

You are comparing humans to force feed mice? Have you ever looked at humans? Let me edit to expand. Animal models are a precursor to study a specific topic. They help is determine if there is justification to investigate further. ETA: are you now for or against carbs? Your post are not consistent.

Coming off vacation and a work trip.. hoping to get back on track after mother's day.

PHUL and PHAT are some good programs. And if you want a bit more detailed ones, Jeff Nippard has a hypertrophy program.

PEScience, Quest, or ON are my current favorites.

I'll hold. I will be interested in any data because i have yet to see a study on the data. Also, i think people over generalizate what Keto can or cannot be. Just like vegan, there is a huge variation on how to implement it. When i am Keto, i eat avocado almost daily, low gi berries, lean meats, fatty fish, and low fat…

What about fasting glucose? Overall that is pretty good. You should keep in mind weight loss can effect results.

It's actually all berries that are low in calories. I regularly eat raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries for that reason.

Can you post your numbers? Also, my LDL did increase (from 99 to 178) under keto but my doctor wasn't concerned based on my other factors. It did improve once i cleaned up my keto diet. I reduced keto friendly foods (protein bars, treats), increased my veggies (especially avocado) and low gi berries, and replaced full fat…

First, why would you compare a banana to bacon? If anyone was going to make a pedantic argument of animal based verse plant based foods, they would argue a steak or fish vs a banana. Why? Both are whole food sources. Second, bacon isn't causing insulin to spike. Bacon is almost all fat. Fat doesn't really cause an insulin…

The question i have is where do you get this crap? This is a horrible understanding of science. Suggesting carbs cause obesity, T2 diabetes, or IR shows your lack of knowledge. All of those diseases are multifaceted. All have lifestyle and genetic implications. But none of those are caused by carbs. The world have a wide…

At least you get it. And there are several reasons to pre-workout with a supplement or drink coffee. And while i recognize that it can't replace a quality diet, it can augment a good workout plan. There is strong evidence for recovery with citrulline malate, energy with caffeine, and strength increases with creatine. And…

Ironically, C4 is pretty undosed in most of the effective ingredients. So you aren't missing out 😆

Thats good. Things that can also be helpful in getting fiber are avocado/guacamole, chia seeds, cruciferous vegetables, and berries. Berries are especially great since they are very low in calories and high in volume. And you can be creative... Here is a chia pudding.

It's not always easy to fix your sleep. I have a 3 and 5 year old, who aren't the best sleepers, and due to the pandemic, we have to work shifts so i am at work at 5am. And the only time i can train my wife is after our kids get to sleep. It might be worth you not making generalization based on your current experience.…

How is your fruit and veggie consumption?
-
Meat isn't the problem, especially lean meats. In fact, the latest meta analysis comapring levels of meat and fruit/vegetables consumption showed the diet highest in meat and fruit/veggie consumption provided slightly more favorable results vs just plants. Meat has essential nutrients in them and are more bioavailable in…

What kind of inflammation are we discussing? Right now it's more of a buzz phrase than a topic based on metabolic panels. Are we talking high CRP? Also, there are several types of inflammation? The biggest things that would improve systemic inflammation is weight loss and exercise. But overall, a diet high in fiber (which…

What are you trying to achieve? As others stated dietary fat and cholesterol are essential nutrients. Overall, the biggest impact on metabolic markers is weight loss and exercise (especially weight training). I would also focus on lean proteins, plenty of fruits and veggies, a diet rich in healthy fats like fatty fish,…

The crawling skin is beta alanine. Its a common thing.

I run Redcon 1 Total War. I was using Kaged Muscle PreKaged but Redcon was on sale. Total war does mix better and i like the flavor. I would be interested in trying Outworked (Layne Norton's pre-workout). Ultimately, if you do a pre-workout the main key is citrulline (3-5g) or citrulline malate (6-8g). Caffeine generally…

First, bon chon is the bomb. And so if my pulled pork! Overall, i am essentially unintentionally recomping. Weight has been fluxing up and down, but overall around 168 which is a few lbs up but i am also back on carbs. Right now i am focused more on training and more fat loss. I am feeling and looking a bit leaner. At this…

The only thing that matters, and no one can tell you this, is determining what is sustainable for you and your journey. Keto wasn't too hard for me to sustain. It satiated me and i largely focus on meats and dairy.... So it worked. From a performance perspective, and the reason i came off keto was it hurt my lifts a lot.
