For not being able to workout hard the past few weeks, a 1.1lb gain is not bad at all.

This is such a great idea. I'd just stolen my boyfriend's elastic belt, but I like this idea a whole lot better (and he might want his belt back sooner than we can afford new clothes) lol

Down to 147.7, and since I won't be able to weigh in until after Feb. 1st, I'm calling that my ending weight. Great job Mae! I'm sure if you push you can reach your goal. I hope everyone else had a great week.

So, tomorrow will be my last weigh-in for the month. I'm going to be at work Fri-Sun, then Sun-Tues I'm going to be at the Special Olympics state games and won't be weighing in. I'm not even sure at this point how logging calories will work, but I'm going to do my best to work out a plan. I'm a little bummed that I won't…

I hope everything is okay Nicole! Stay strong. Sarah, a .5lb gain isn't horrible, I'm sure this week will be better! Try to stay positive and kick some butt! I've been slacking this past week. Trying to find a balance between work, school, home, and staying healthy. I posted that challenge here to burn 3000 calories, and I…

You are doing so amazing! Your pictures are so awesome. I love your leggings in the more recent pic :) Keep up all your great work!

I'm going to disagree with the other posters so far. Calories are not the only thing that counts, especially on a site called my FITNESSpal. Your sodium levels and water intake can greatly effect changes in weight (e.g. water retention due to too much sodium and not enough water). Also, protein and fiber levels should be…

YAY! Everyone is doing so well this week!

Weighed in this morning at 148.6. I'm officially in a normal BMI now. :) Pretty excited about this. As far as the exercise challenge, I got sick in the middle of the week and am still recovering, so I'm going to do as much as I can, but I know I won't have a huge burn this week.

I agree; the Fiber One cereals are great.

I'd tend to lean toward counting all of the marinade myself. Just because even if you measure what's left after you're all done marinading, you have no way of knowing which substances were absorbed by the meat.
-
That sounds great too! I think any sort of exercise challenge is good, so do what you can!
-
I'm watching it now too. I really like the non-competitiveness of it too. I also like that if the way they have the program set up. It's very motivational. Definitely a show I'm going to try to remember to watch every week!

Start recalculating what?
-
I'm confused I guess. Signing up for MFP is part of a class assignment? What sort of class are you taking?

Okay then, starting tomorrow (Monday) let's shoot for burning 3000 calories by Sunday night. I think I'm going to try for 4000 just to push myself a little more than I did this past week. :) Mae, I think even you can shoot for 3000 calories. Even if you don't make it, I'm sure getting as far as you get will make you proud…

LOL see, I'm mostly vegetarian now (Still do fish and some chicken/turkey), so the veggie delight just makes the most sense for me.
-
I love Subway. I usually get a 6" veggie delight, all the veggies (except olives and pickles--trying to cut back on the sodium), no cheese, with honey mustard sauce. The mustard is strong enough that I don't even miss the cheese. If I had more money I'd eat at Subway a whole lot more.

We all seem to be struggling more this month. I wonder if we do some challeges if that will help us out. I just finished a week (Sun-Sat) of a challenge with a fellow MFPer to burn 3000 calories. I just barely finished tonight with 3035 calories for the week. It feels so great to know I accomplished that. Is anyone else up…

I agree. I usually wear my hair in a ponytail and it doesn't hurt, but if I have my hair in a tight bun my scalp hurts a bit.

I'm defintely in the same boat. I spend SO much time on MFP. I barely think about facebook anymore. I also talk to some of my MFP friends more than friends on facebook (which is by no means a complaint!)

Hehe, yay for being weight twins!

How about tacos with the soft shells? You could cook up some of the hamburger with the onion, mushroom, green peppers, and green chiles. Add in some of your spices, and serve it in the soft shells and top with some tomato, sour cream, and cheese? If you wanted, you could pick up some lettuce to go on them too.

Nicole, congrats on the loss! Weighing in at 151.5 this week. I'm 1.5lbs away from a normal BMI. I'm SO hoping I hit that this coming week. I'm trying not to stess too much about it, getting back on track with exercise is really helping to decrease my stress. I hope everyone else is having a good week!
-
I've been struggling a lot this month so far too. I had a lot of stress at the beginning of the month at work (trying to switch my schedule around and wondering what would happen if I couldn't). Luckily that is all resolved now. But with all the stress I was finding it VERY difficult to want to workout. I'm so grateful…

I've been thinking the same thing!

I used the chart. My "ideal" weight is 130lbs, so I decided to go with that. When I graduated high school I weighted 125lbs, and remember all the comments I'd receive about being too small, and I think that's just too low for me at this point. I think I can hit 130lbs and be happy, especially since I'm loving exercise now.…

I really like eating baby carrots with hummus for a snack. 4.5 oz of carrots and 2Tbsp of hummus is about 100-130 calories depending on the brand of hummus you use.

It does have more protein, but the fat/calories are pretty much the same. I like to substitute it for peanut butter in cookies (I use a low-cal recipe), and it's delicious. I agree with the bananas option too. Though if you're looking for a lower calorie/fat option than regular peanut butter there is a brand called…

I'm finally feeling like I'm getting back on track. I bought new sneakers the other day (one pair for everyday use and one pair for exercise). I've also found myself snacking less and snacking on healthier snacks when I do snack (except for the other day at work). I've also increased my water intake back to what it was…
