  • Since you like reading I have one more book for you. Lean Habits for Lifelong Weightloss by Georgie Fear. Nothing completely novel ideawise (if you're read a lot of diet books) but she packages her advice concisely with a cheerleader's "can do" attitude. She focuses on habit building and long term success. The author also…
  • Nice :) How have you been feeling so far?
  • That's amazing and inspiring! Well done friend. Any advice after 6 months in the trenches? Is your family supportive or on the diet as well?
  • Thank you! I believe I have friended or been friended by everyone that has posted so far. Looking forward to supporting you all on our low carb journey. :)
  • Forgive yourself and get back on the wagon. Everyone has done it. You are not alone on these questions. Focus on one day at a time. Just like the very beginning.
  • Awesome! Let us know how they go. Don't be afraid to taste and tweak them as you go. Adding more pumpkin or spice depending on your preference :) I think you'll really like them.
  • Walking is excellent and you're definitely building endurance. It might be time to consider doing something that real gets your heart rate up. I like the Jillian Michael's home work out DVDs. They go anywhere from 20-60 minutes depending on which one you choose. Which makes them easy to squeeze into an schedule.
  • They are! I tend to opt for less processed oil but in the case of fat bombs I used refined coconut oil (LouAna brand with the blue label). Otherwise they are too coconutty. And I like coconut. I keep them in the freezer and pull them out about 5-10 minutes before eating. So they'll start to softennd easier to eat. Perfect…
  • I've made these before and they taste great. https://www.tasteaholics.com/recipes/quick-bites/pumpkin-pie-bites-fat-bomb-recipe/
  • When did you make this shift? It took me a full 16 days before I started feeling good on keto this time. My macros are fairly close to your goal. How about adding some non dairy fat bombs?
  • Chicken bacon ranch bake. Modified version of this one here. https://www.wholesomeyum.com/recipes/chicken-bacon-ranch-casserole-recipe-easy-low-carb/
  • Another great idea. Thank you for the suggestion :)
  • This is what the brownie cheesecake turned out like. It was hard to get a picture since it went so quickly!
  • Thank you! I'll definitely give it a go one of these days. I like the idea of using a blender for mixing. Sounds like quick prep with a delicious return. I've got the brownie cheesecake cooling right now! I have high hopes for it. Even if I did spend 20 minutes trying to catch a loose dog instead of pulling it out of the…
  • I think we're going to go with this one. Looks incredibly self indulgent. Perfect for a once a year birthday treat! I'll post pics of the final product. https://alldayidreamaboutfood.com/brownie-cheesecake-low-carb-and-gluten-free/
  • I almost certainly did! Thank you so much taking the time to explain what happened. I'm much wiser now :D
  • The next paragraph said the cheese cake sounds perfect! I don't normally add anything on top of cheesecake so it didn't even occur to me. It would give it that sense of occasion that I'm looking for. Think I'll go with fresh blueberries. Thanks!
  • Shoot that reply shortened too. Guess I need a primer on MFP forum posting.
  • That cake is most excellent! Love the tongue in cheek song reference. You must be a hoot as a parent
  • Basically it said this is an extra special time of year because our birthdays are so close. I'd like to continue the tradition. I'll check out mug cakes but would need to adapt them since we don't have a microwave. I think they are the microwave recipes, correct?
  • What happened to the rest of my post?! Oh well I'll have to retype it here in a second.
  • Thank you for your reply! I don't think anyone ever needs birthday
  • That's like my best dream and worst nightmare rolled into one. As to your actual question look into Whole 30. It would work much better for a vegetarian and also offers a sugar/carb "reset".
  • It's been a few years for me but off the top of my head I'd say around 300 calories. It's not as much as you'd think. If you really want to know call a lactation consultant. They should be able to answer that one over the phone. I had great success with light exercise and whole foods or home cooked meals (no fast food).…
  • For a quick simple treat we do Tony’s Chocolonely extra dark chocolate. I buy the small bars because it's portioned better. 15 carbs per bar and that includes 6 pieces. So 2.5 carbs per piece. Don't buy the large bars. The pieces are irregular and impossible to portion unless using a scale. I have made a very tasty…
  • There are some great recipes at No Meat Athlete. Not sure if they're low calorie but they sure taste good. Here is one of my faves. Super versatile. http://www.nomeatathlete.com/grain-green-and-bean/
  • You've gotten some great advice on running. So I'll address the chest issue. I researched quite a few sports bras before setting on the Enell. Their design uses both compression and encapsulation for support. It's excellent for high impact sports like running. Its probably overkill if you're only planning on low impact…
  • I love my Hamilton egg muffin maker. Takes about 3-4 minutes to heat up and 5 to cook the sandwich. Cleanup is like a waffle iron. Just wipe with a damp paper towel. Ingredients: English muffin, egg, cheese, and meat. You can easily keep the calories down under 300 by choosing turkey (I use Hormel natural) for your meat…
  • I'm going to copy and paste my reply to a similar thread from June 2014. My current weight is 151. That's after 2 months of summer slacking and not watching what I ate. I din't gain/lose and weight but my level of fitness plummeted. I'm just now getting back into MFP and ready for another "cut". "I've had Mirena put in…
  • Thank you for sharing your success. I logged on today looking for some major motivation and I found it. I've always wanted to do a triathlon. You make it seem to doable.
