It is true. Not all calories are created equal. Calories consumed from nutrient-dense foods are far better than the calories from energy-dense (and therefore nutrient-poor) foods.

The question "Is it good for you?" is pretty general. A truthful "general" answer is no. Although dairy products do have good nutrients, recent studies are beginning to find a correlation between consumption of dairy and increased risks of certain cancers.
