  • ^^^^^^ All people are different. I have been on anti-depressants for several years. They were not the reason I gained weight. My weight gain was due to the fact that I was eating WAY too much and not exercising.
  • My first concert was at the Philadelphia Spectrum in 1972 - The Beach Boys. Went to dozens of concerts there. Spectrum is now gone, but a lot of great memories. :)
  • Same here. Valley Forge area and have never heard of it. :)
  • I agree with you. Whenever something becomes too big, I wash it, or have it dry cleaned, and then donate it to GoodWill or Purple Heart. They really are in need of bigger sized clothes. Men's too!!!!
  • Hi there.... I'll be 57 this year and almost half way to my goal weight. If any of you would like to add me, please do. I'm doing this one day at a time and MFP has given me the tools to change my lifestyle. :)
  • Love my hubby to bits, but he's not the one who signed up on MFP, nor is he the one who is overweight. This is my personal journey. He loves me no matter what I weigh.
  • For me it was seeing my collarbones again. I haven't seen them in YEARS. :)
  • I'll admit, I'm a sloppy woman at the gym. I wear baggy cotton shorts and tee shirts because I don't like sweating in tight clothes. The only jewelry I wear is my wedding band and I have short hair so no cute ponytails here. Personally, I don't look at other people while I'm there. I'm working my butt off (literally) and…
  • Hi there.... I am almost 5'5" and weigh 203. I started out at 252 and joined MFP at 248. I have osteo arthritis, Lupus and Fibromyalgia. I'm 56 years old. I split my time between Pennsylvania and Fort Myers, Florida. For me, this is a lifestyle change. It has to be or I will not succeed. I've been on every diet there is.…
  • I was addicted to French Vanilla creamer. When I cut sugar out of my diet, I switched to a mild roast coffee and now drink it black.

  • First of all, I want to know what restaurant serves a salad that is 800 calories without dressing. LOL If you know the nutritional values of the meals in the restaurants would it be possible to make your own meal? Say, order the salad but remove all the high calorie items and substitute them with more fresh veggies?…
  • Steamed veggie's are okay, but after months and months, I needed a change. I now use a non-stick frying pan, one or two tablespoons of Smart Balance Light and saute them. If the pan gets too dry, I add a little water. I sprinkle a little bit of Weber's Kickin' Chicken seasoning and they're good to go. This works with any…
  • Here is a link for Savella for those of you who are interested. http://health.yahoo.net/goldcontent/milnacipran?brand=Savella
  • Congratulations!!!!
  • I have a pair of jeans that are a size smaller than what I'm wearing now. I try them on every Wednesday and if I can see a difference, I weigh myself. The number doesn't matter to me. No one can see the number but me. I want to be able to fit in all the clothes in my closet. :)
  • For those of you who can still eat the junk food and lose weight, I envy you. It took me years to figure out that my body simply cannot tolerate sugar and processed foods. I would get bloated; feel sluggish and have absolutely no energy. Since I cleaned out the pantry, the scale is going down; I have not been bloated at…
  • What ^^^^^^ said......
  • The only thing I like a bit of sweetness in is oatmeal. For that I use Truvia. :)
  • Hi there - For me, once I got rid of all the processed foods and began eating 'healthy', I began to crave certain things: Salmon Sweet Potato Oranges Fage 0% yogurt If I'm craving something crunchy, I make some roasted spicy chick peas. :) Good Luck!!!!!
  • Oatmeal, Fage 0% yogurt, sweet potatoes, frozen veggies, strawberries, oranges, bags of salad and canned white albacore tuna. I also make a huge pot of vegetable soup on Sunday's and put it in single serving containers and freeze it. I don't keep any processed foods in the house, so if I want something to eat I have to get…
  • I didn't post anything for a long time because of the way people would answer in the forum. I will NEVER get into a battle of wits, or nimwits, nor will I bash anyone for asking a question that's been asked 5000 times. If you don't like the fact that the same questions are being asked over and over again, simply skip to…
  • Definitely a site for encouragement and support. :)
  • You're doing great. Simply cutting out the junk food is a huge step. Your body will love you for it! We all would love to see the scale go down at a rapid rate, but don't be a slave of the scale. Eat healthy, exercise and every week try on a pair of jeans that are a size smaller than what you're wearing now. I'm down from…
  • Of course you can. Running on the beach is fabulous. If you're in the condo, you can still do squats, yoga, stretching. I wouldn't worry about changing your routine for 10 days. It's stopping permanently that's a problem. Good luck, but most of all - have fun!!!
  • Great job!!! I cannot wait to get out of the 200's!!!!!
  • Stay on the parameter of the store and try to avoid going down the aisles. Fresh fruits, veges (frozen is good, too), skim milk, yogurt (watch the sugar), low fat cheese, lean meats - especially lean ground turkey and fish. If you don't like produce, it may be a good time to try it again. Try a baked sweet potato or get a…
  • Facebook for Fattie's. I like that!!!!

  • Please do NOT beat yourself up because you slip up for 2 or 3 days. It would be MUCH worse if you slipped up for months, or years at a time. You know you ate stuff you should not have eaten, so write it in your log and move on. Tomorrow is another day. Why does this happen to you? Maybe you're not ready to shred the extra…
  • A huge baked sweet potato topped with 10 ounces of shredded cabbage fried in 2 tbs Smart Balance and then later on a few cups of fresh strawberries. :)
