Good for you for starting the journey! I was overwhelmed too and luckily my doctor sent me to a dietitian and she has made all the difference for me. She makes suggestions and I have to check in with her and weigh in every 2 weeks, so the accountability is there too. Each visit we go over what's happening with me, and we…

What a fabulous story of perseverance in the worst of circumstances! You've gained so much wisdom as you lost the pounds, and you look amazing!

Yeah - open the diary to friends. We all succumb to cravings and we stumble, but our friends keep us from hitting bottom. Make today an amazing day!

WOW!! Just WOW! You look amazing.

My dietitian has advised me that I should not "eat my exercise calories". She says I should net no less than 1000 calories a day, and that I should shoot for 1200. She has warned me that as I get smaller my allowed calories are going to drop, which makes good sense. I'm 5'6" and weigh 216 right now. Hope this helps!

I'm 5'6", and 25 years ago I lost a bunch of weight (and kept it off for 20 years!). Anyhow - I lost down to 123 and friends told me I looked very sickly. I couldn't see it until some time later when I saw a pic of myself in a bikini and I looked horrible. My best weight is 150. I look good, feel good, and my clothes look…

If you have a smart phone, load the Starbucks app and it will give you exact nutrition info and will also let you build your own drink according to what you like and your dietary restrictions. If you want to keep it simpler, order what you normally do and just ask them to do it "skinny" and no whip. Good luck!

If you're eating anything processed and/or with refined sugar - candy, muffins, doughnuts, pasta, breads, etc. - stop for a few days and I feel strongly you'll see the scale move. Here's sending you luck and iron will! SuziQueue

Hey Chick - Good for you! Hitting bottom is the first step to picking your self up from your bootstraps, give yourself a nice, swift kick, and start a new journey beginning today. Commit, and make it your #1 priority to take care of you and be the you that you want to be, because no matter where you go, no matter how hard…

I was dieting well except I was eating an ice cream treat each evening. It was derailing me, so I cut out the processed goodies. Now, I still eat fruit but I stay within my allotted MFP sugar grams for the day and I'm back on track and doing well.

Instead of stopping at fast food joints for snacks along the way, stop at grocery stores for healthy options. Have fun!

28 years ago I lost 65 pounds and I kept it off for 25 years. Looked and felt great! Then, 3 years ago all hell broke loose in my life + I quit smoking, and I gained it all back. My life and emotions are finally settled down and i'm on the mission to get it off again. I know I can do it! The way that I stayed at my goal…

Thanks for this post! It's still blessing people and keeping us on track. I hope you do get your medical degree and become a doctor! I think you would have an amazing "bed side presence". Thanks for the encouragement! Suzi Q

Hi Dan - it looks like we live close. I just started on this journey and I'm trying to lose 75 lbs, but I've always been active and I love to get a good workout. My favorites are tennis and kayaking because I usually try to disguise my exercise as fun  Maybe we could work together. What do you do for exercise? Suzi Q

I had an ovarian cyst the size of an orange and I knew something wasn't right. It wasn't only the pain, but it was pinching (twisting), and I felt so tired and just "not normal". If you think your body feels abnormal and you have unusual pain, by all means, go to the doctor. They removed mine via laparoscopic surgery which…

GOOD for you!! You look amazing!

I looked and felt my best at 140-145, and that is my goal now. The only thing I will change is increasing my muscle mass this time around. I am 5'6".

I'm upping my minimum calories to 1200 and I'll only weigh in once a week. Great advice -- Thanks everyone! :flowerforyou:

I think I would eat the 1350 and up the exercise. Good luck! You can do it.

Way to go!

I based mine on the weight that I felt and looked the best in the past.
