Progress!!!! I haven"t weighed myself this week, but I do take measurements several times a week. This morning I measured, and I have finally lost 1/2 inch at my waist, another 1/2 inch at my hips, and about 1/4 inch at my upper thigh. Tomorrow I will weigh myself, but I'm just so happy I finally see some progress!!

I'm in the same boat! Been at this for 4 weeks, this time. So far, nothing. Yesterday I checked my macros. I had them set at MFP defaults. I switched them up, so I am eating more protein, less carbs ( I am weight training, and my trainer suggested this). Might be something to look at. I don't know if it will effect my own…

Diann, How long did it take you to get the 25 pounds off? And how long before you lost your first few? Ive been doing this (religiously!) for 3 weeks and nada, nothing, zip. I have about 25 to loose as well.

Another shorty here! I'm 5' 2"; I'm one of (if not THE oldest!) at 57! It truly does get harder and harder to do this as you get older. Sadly. I dont have any current pics, though I am thinking of taking one tomorrow . . . I'm currently at about 145; goal of 120 - 125; though at this point, I will celebrate HUGE at 135!!!…

I got a fitbit for Christmas in 2014. Used it pretty religiously for about 6 months, but it didnt seem to make a difference in my daily excercise routine. I generally have a pretty non-physical lifestyle, unfortunately. After the gym every morning, I come home to do regular household chores, then spend the rest of my day…

Hi ya'll! I'm Candi! Just started back on Fitness Pal, after about 9 months away. Still have about 20 -25 lbs to loose. Just started weight training with a personal trainer, and really love it! I would love friends to share this journey with! I'm 57, 5'2" and about 145lbs right now - my heaviest ever. Would love to share…

Hello all! I have been using MFP for a couple years now, off and on. Last logged on about 6 - 9 months ago. But Im back! 57 yrs old, 5'2", 145lbs. Ive been a gymaholic for quite a few years now, but just recently (3 months ago) decided to try a personal trainer. I'm finding that I am a lot stronger than I ever thought, and…

I haven't posted in a while. I'm getting into my busiest season of the year here - I am a bridal seamstress, and between weddings and prom season, I usually have no time to clean, cook, eat, sleep, do laundry or shopping, let alone workout or post! So for atleast the next 6 weeks or so, I will probably not have much time…

Helma, you and I are cut from the same cloth! Except for me being a couple years older, our story is pretty much identical! I started out at 1500 cal pr day, and gradually worked down to 900-1000 before I saw a weight loss. If I eat more than about 1100, I will gain. I work out 5 - 6 days a week, about 5 hours of cardio a…

Jules - I wondered, too, if I might have a thyroid issue, but the tests came back negative. I have discoid lupus; which I don't know if it has anything to do with the VitD issue or not, but it can be a pain. I also have Raynaud's, and the cold affects my hands and feet. Fortunately I think I have been mostly in remission…

It's been a tough week; cold weather brings on binge eating, cravings for comfort food, and lack of desire to work out. But I have made it to the gym 4 times, and even though I've not eaten my best, at least I haven't gone way over the edge!

Great ideas for all! Seems like we have been living on venison chili all winter, so I'm kind of over that. But crab bisque sound fantastic ! Tonight it's freezing rain here in ATL so I am having spinach salad and roasted onion soup. Maybe a glass of Chardonnay to warm me up later!

Is anybody else having a hard time staying away from "comfort foods" with the cold weather we all seem to be having? Somehow salads and fresh fruits and veggies just aren't doing it lately. I find myself craving grilled cheese sandwiches and thick rich soups. I am wondering if anyone has any good 'light' comfort food…

Oh my goodness! Forever!? Any explanation as to why your body needs it so much more than usual?

Every night I come on board and read the days posts, and every day I am so encouraged by all of you! I've had a good week - finally! Cutting my calories has finally caused me to loose a couple pounds (actually down 3!). I hadn't weighed myself in about 10 days, so it wasn't all overnight! - I had seen my dr last week and…

Thank you for all the suggestions! I actually got on the scale this morning (I weigh twice a week), and have lost 2 pounds!! After reading the suggestions, I thought I would pay closer attention today to my portions; actually weighing instead of measuring everything. That may be part of my problem. Also, even though I…

I am 5'2", 145lbs. My goal is 125. I've been down to 118 (about 8 years ago, but I couldn't maintain it). If I could loose even half a pound a week it would be progress, but I would ideally be happy with about 1- 1.5 a week. I've cut my calories so low because nothing was happening at higher calorie intakes. I've gradually…

Can someone please help me! I have been faithfully logging my food and excercise for four weeks now. Granted, the first couple weeks I was not very good at making good choices; till I started paying attention to the nutrient ratios. I've been a gym rat for a very long time, and since the new year I have ramped it up. I've…

I have not had time to check out postings for a few days. Since I started logging my food and excercise on MFP, I've noticed that on days when I am very busy, my best laid plans for meals are sabotaged very easily. Yesterday, for instance, I was too busy too stop and eat and only got 670 calories on. But I felt fine - even…

56 and need to lose about 25; though seriously at this point I would be happy with 5! I lost about 25 pounds about 9 years ago and kept it off great till about 2 years ago. The only way I was able to get it off back then (and believe me I tried everything and every method!) was to cut my calories drastically - to between…

Hi ladies! I have been doing MFP off and on ( sometimes more seriously than others) for a couple years now. I can relate so well to the frustrations of weight loss after 'a certain age'. I am 56; 5' 2", and currently weigh 145. In January 2014 I was determined to loss weight for my first cruise in April. Using MFP to track…

I believe weight is so subjective! I am 5'2" as well. At my lowest weight I got down to 118. That was about 7 years ago. It was too low for me - I was at my best at about 122- 125. The higher weight was much easier to maintain, as well.

nespinosa3, I am right there with you!! I am older than you (54), but have had the same issues all my life! I, too am 'curvy', and at 5'2", 140 lbs, it's a little too curvy. I have tried everything I know to do to loose weight: excercise, diet pills, cutting way back on food, even tried a weight loss doctor (3 times). The…
