People who lose weight at BELOW average rate

I need support...I'm one of those people who has never lost weight at the average pace (1 lb per week). Best case scenario, I lose a pound every 2-4 weeks. It's always been this way, whether I've tried healthy or unhealthily. Right now, this is what my program looks like:
5'5 female, 26 years old, 155 lbs (started at 165 in November, 10 more to go) - body type: very curvy, 27% body fat
I'm eating 1500 calories, from which 20-25% are fat, 30-35% are carbs, 45% from protein.
I do weights twice a week with a trainer and give it my best. Then I do cardio in fat burn mode 4-6 days a week, for 45-55 minutes.
I've been doing this since November, lost about 6-7 pounds in 2 months, and now have only lost 3 pounds since mid-January. So yeah, it's going really slow. However, the only other time I really tried to lose weight, I did P90X twice and it took 8 months to lose 8 pounds!! So as horrible as it seems, this is the time where I've lost weight the fastest in my life.
Is anyone else having this problem too?? I understand I may be gaining muscle at the same time, but come on...I am working out every day except Sunday, take care of all my food, not eating out...a cheat meal maybe one day on the weekend and now I'm trying to just have it every 2 weekends. And like I said, this is just the way it is with my body. I just want to know that I'm not the only one, it's really hard to see people losing pounds like it's nothing and they just work out three times a week.

nespinosa3,
I am right there with you!! I am older than you (54), but have had the same issues all my life! I, too am 'curvy', and at 5'2", 140 lbs, it's a little too curvy. I have tried everything I know to do to loose weight: excercise, diet pills, cutting way back on food, even tried a weight loss doctor (3 times). The only way i have ever been able to loose weight was when a good friend of mine was able to get me some Bontril ( serious weight loss meds that are no longer available in this country). I lost weight fast and easy and was able to keep it off for about 7 years. Then menopause hit and I cant get it off for the life of me. I would like to loose about 15 pounds but seriously I would be happy with 10!!
So here is what I am doing this time around. I have learned that whatever I do it has to be sustainable. Something I can keep up and continue for the reat of my life. So 'diets' won't work. Never have anyway. I have been concentrating on lots of cardio for the last few years. That isn't doing much either. Then, about 9 weeks ago I stumbled on a website: bodybuilding.com Check it out. There are tons of different programs you can choose from, depending on your goals and where you are.
I can't say that I have lost anything as far as weight, yet (it's been 8 weeks). But I can say that my tummy has gone down, and my body is looking firmer. Last week I started counting calories again - which I hate. But I think it is helping me to stay focused.
Here's what I have learned - some people just struggle. It's frustrating as hell. But you cant give up because then where are you? Instead of focusing on my weight, I am focusing on being healthy. On eating what my body needs and making my body strong. If I can loose weight, it will likely be slow, and I can accept that, finally. But for now, I am focusing on just being the best me I can be!
Don't give up! We can do this together!0 -

Increase the intensity of your cardio, or do some higher intensity intervals.0

Right and I know since it's just 10 pounds more, it's going to be slow. But 3 pounds in 2 months???
And I am also really worried about my metabolism. I am 26 years old!! I'm supposed to be on the peak and not at all. If it's that difficult right now, what the hell am I going to do after having a baby?? When I get older, when my metabolism is even slower. I keep working out, I eat 5-6 times a day, drink a bunch of water - all the stuff that is supposed to help your metabolism but it just doesn't happen. Ughhhh!!!0 -

2. If you're not weighing everything you eat, then you're underestimating your food.0 -
With the amount you have to lose, thats a good rate, not bad at all. This is one of the main reasons why its hard for people to stick with weight loss, it is so much easier to put weight on than to take it off. You also probably have nothing wrong with your metabolism, and there is no real reliable way to "increase metabolism" except with exercise, dont worry.0

I think you are losing at a pretty typical pace. The people who lose a lot of pounds per week are much more overweight than you are. I normally lose 1/2 pound a week. Bontril is available in the U.S.; I am taking it. I need to lose weight fast for my son's wedding in May. So if you want to lose fast, I suggest Phentermine or Bontril. But it doesn't sound like you need it.
It sounds like you are losing at a very healthy rate.0 -
Comparing yourself to others without really know what others have done and where they come from is to set yourself for failure and feel depressed, nothing more than that...
Ya know..when people tell stories on the internet, it's often and common that we only hear part of it...I We all have different genes, different body condition and we do things differently hence different result.0 -
I lose about half a pound a week.
It works for me, the weight is slowly coming off, I will eventually reach my goal.

Yeah, it took me a while year to lose just under 20 pounds.0 -
Play around with your calorie intake. That has made a world of difference for me. I finally got under the 130lbs mark and I am oh so happy about that.
I eat what I want by their portion sizes and weigh/measure everything. I upped my calories, set MFP to lose .5lbs a week, and make sure and give myself rest days when I need them.
I drink as many fluids as I can but it's difficult when I'm as sick as I am currently. Just keep your eyes on the prize and remember:
You will always be you, just a happier, healthier you. If it doesn't work at first, keep trying. You'll get there.
