OP is more than 200 calories under goal for the day. That's about a poptart or bowl of ice cream's worth. What's wrong with that barring any medical issues witch those foods?

I buy fresh seafood a couple time a month but regularly eat canned fish because it's cheap and easy. Mashed sardines on avocado toast. Smoked clams with pasta and veggies. Smoked oysters on crackers with mustard. And any of them are good mixed into a veggie sauté on top of rice or something. Lots of options.

I'm another for roasting vegetables. Oil, salt, and pepper are all you need. Add spices as you like - curry powder, smoked paprika, chili, etc.

And that "there’s not even strong evidence that losing weight is good for you" as the blogger claimed.

Cheers to normally functioning bodies :drinker:

Same same. My day is Wednesday so I have time to drop some water weight after going out on the weekend. If the fluctuations stress you out it might be a better idea not to weigh everyday. I like seeing the fluctuations because it helps me see why my weight goes up or down.

Right. Yolks are sold to companies that make products that require more yolks - ice cream, mayonnaise, baked goods, etc.

That's the only time I have egg whites, if I've used the yolk for some other delicious purpose. I usually put the extra whites in an omelet or something. There have been a couple times I've had leftover yolks after making meringue and made an extra yolky omelette. So good.

Yep. My weight is always lower the day after a night of boozing. The day after that it's up from the bloat and extra drunk snacks. Happy birthday! Glad you had a good time. Any little gain will be gone soon enough.

I sincerely thank you for this link. I had completely forgotten about this little gem.

Seriously? Why? I donated blood often when I was actively losing weight last year. It's a bad idea if you are starving yourself (that's a bad idea for many reasons) and there is a weight minimum of like 100 lb, more if you are doing a double unit. A couple times I was turned away because my hemoglobin was too low, but…

It doesn't really matter when you eat your food as long as you stay within your calorie goal. Have at those snacks :drinker:

When I was a kid my mom used to make granola and it was so good. She stopped all of a sudden when I was around 10 yo and I was really disappointed. I didn't like any packed cereal as much as the granola. A couple years ago I begged her for the recipe. Very high calories but still delicious. I need to make it again…

Exactly. Do you actually have potassium deficiency or are you just worried because your micro count on MFP is low? If it's the later you are probably fine. There are lots of "Foods high in ...." lists online.

A big bowl of roasted vegetables and rice/barley with protein. Cook the grains in a rice cooker while prepping the vegetables. Vegetables are usually broccoli, sweet potatoes, peppers, Brussels, beets, etc. tossed with oil, S&P, and spices cooked 20-30 minutes at around 400. Protein can be simple beans, tempeh, chicken…

I cook a lot of beans from dried. I've done it in a crock pot a couple times but prefer stovetop. I'll soak them overnight if I remember/have time but I often cook without soaking and they turn out fine. If I'm cooking them plain to use in a recipe I just put the beans in a pot with enough water to cover the beans by an…

Love beets! I usually roast them just with oil and s&p, maybe garlic. I'll eat them plain like that as a side. Slice up to put in salad. Sauté with some vinegar, onion and garlic to eat with the sautéed beet greens. So many good things.

I'd get a water filter. You can get ones that attach directly to the faucet or pitchers that you fill up. I keep a large PUR filter pitcher in the fridge because I prefer my water to be pretty cold. The filters do need to be replaced every few months but it is a lot less waste than all the bottles.

His job is not to be your friend and just tell you what you want. His job is to help you be well, the whole you. Weather malicious or incompetent, it sounds like his ability to treat people should be reevaluated before he hurts others. The fact that your new doctors agree his actions were inappropriate shows that it wasn't…

Happy Anniversary! Eat what you want and enjoy yourself. It is a special occasion and dinner at a steakhouse is by no means a "diet killer." I will be celebrating my 10 year anniversary at the end of the month (also in Dallas) and will eat with abandon.

I will. I'm trying to figure out the menu now and prelogging. I will be over calories for the day but not too ridiculous. I didn't log for the week of Christmas (two family Christmases and a funeral/wake all away from home was too much for me) so I need to get back on track. Seeing the good, the bad, and the ugly helps me…

My sister went to Leeds a few weeks ago so brought me a Christmas Brit pack - chutney, jam, and plum pudding. I gave everyone homemade marmalade. Amongst other things.

You can add Shaming/belittling us for shaming/belittling others to that Bingo card. Anyone?

It is still on the mobile app, at least the Iphone version. Go to the nutrition tab and hit "Weekly" at the bottom of the page. It tells you the net above or below you calorie target for the week. You can change the settings so that the week it displays is the last 7 day period or a specific week period like Sunday to…

For cooking I use grapeseed oil, butter, or rendered animal fat. I use EV olive oil for mostly non-cooking purposes where I want that olive flavor - dressings, marinades, etc.

Seconding Takenti raspberry chocolate chip. Their toasted almond is a really good non-chocolate option. McConell's double peanut butter chip is one of my favorites right now. ETA New Orleans Ice Cream Company! Can be hard to find outside of Louisiana but very good. Creole Cream Cheese is amazing. Recently had red velvet…

I don't understand. You are an 18 year old male who is 5'7" and weighs less than 100 lbs. If your goal is to gain weight, why are you not eating to or above your caloric goal of 2150 calories? I agree with wolfman that whether you eat back exercise calories depends on what method you are using, but If your goal is to gain…
